I was born and raised on Alvarez Rd, Rio Grande City, Starr County, Texas where my mom still lives at 90 years old. I grew up as the youngest of ve children of migrant and seasonal workers. My parents instilled in me the value of a strong work
ethic and passion for education and the law. My drive for being an attorney for thirty-eight (38) plus years and Judge for almost eight (8) years has focused my desire for public service. I will never say no to anyone! Where there is a will there is a way.
I humbly ask you to consider my education and my experience both as an attorney and a Judge. I am Reliable, Honest, and have a strong Work Ethic. “As your Justice of e Peace, I have put my “Experience to work for you.” For 38 years, I have put Community rst with Leadership you can

The Miracle Prayer
heart of Jesus, in the past I have
many favours. This time I ask you this special one (mention favour). Take it, dear heart of Jesus, and place it within your heart where your Father sees it. Then, in his merciful eyes, it will become your own favour, not mine. Amen.
Say this prayer three times for three days and your favour will be granted. Never been known to fail. Must promise publication of prayer. - L.L.G.
Saint Expedite
Saint Expedite, you lay in rest. I come to you and ask that this wish be granted.
(Mention you urgent request)
THANKSGIVING NOVENA TO ST. JUDE
O Holy St. Jude, Apostle and Martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke your special patronage in time of need, to you I have recourse from the depth of my heart and humbly beg to whom God has given such great power to come to my assistance. Help me in my present and urgent petition. In return I promise to make your name known and cause you to be invoked. St. Jude pray for us and all who invoke your aid. Amen. Say three Our Fathers, three Hail Marys and Glorias. Publication must be promised. This Novena has never been known to fail. I have had my request granted. Publication promised. A. P. R.
Saint Expedite now what I ask of you. Saint Expedite now what I want of you, this very second. Don’t waste another day. Grant me what I ask for. I know your power, I know you because of your work. I know you can help me. Do this for me and I will spread your name with love and honor so that it will be invoked again and again. Expedite this wish with speed, love, honor, and goodness. Glory to you, Saint Expedite! - L.L.G.

Mrs. Anakaren Lopez, a 7th grade RLA teacher from Roma Middle School, is excited to announce that her Donors Choose Project “Smart Hub Tub” was fully funded by Sonic Drive-In!
The technology smart tubs will allow students to charge their electronic device for education in case it runs out of battery during class time. These tubs will eliminate the possibility of students tripping and falling because of charging cables being all over the classroom floor. Not only that, because students are using their Chromebooks on a daily basis for classroom learning, having the tech tubs is essential for the students to be ready for the day! Congrats and thank you for sharing Mrs. Lopez. Please join us in thanking Sonic Drive-In for their generosity!!

PUCT Adopts Rule Prohibiting Disconnection of Water Service During Extreme Cold Weather Emergency
New Rules Apply to nonMunicipal Public Water and Sewer Utilities
The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) today adopted rules prohibiting non-municipal public water and sewer utilities from disconnecting customers during extreme cold weather emergencies. The new rules mean those utilities cannot disconnect service or issue late fees for nonpayment of bills due during such emergencies, including for bills previously due.
“The new rules put the health and safety of Texans first during extreme cold weather emergencies,” said PUCT
continue to provide the necessary water infrastructure rural areas require to flourish. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I was able to increase the amount of funding USDA receives for water projects and I will continue to work to increase this amount every year. I want to thank USDA and Starr County Judge Eloy Vera for once ageain meeting the needs of our rural
Chairman Peter Lake. “This means Texans can focus on their family’s safety during extreme cold and work with their water or sewer utility to make sure they pay their bills in a timely fashion.”
By rule, extreme cold weather emergencies are periods beginning when the previous day’s highest temperature in an area did not exceed 28 degrees Fahrenheit and the temperature is predicted to remain at or below that level for the next 24 hours according to the nearest National Weather Service reports for that area. For purposes of these rules, an extreme weather emergency

“I would like to thank Congressman Cuellar for his support in ensuring that our community’s source of water continues to be safe by providing this critical funding,” said Starr County Judge Eloy Vera.
The funds will be used construct and install a 2,083-gpm raw water intake, 6.5-milliongallon raw water reservoir, 3.0

Under the new rules, affected customers have a 30-day window to request a payment schedule. If a customer makes a request within those 30 days, the service provider must offer them a payment schedule. All non-municipal water and sewer utilities are required to notify their customers of these new rules by January 31, 2023.
The new rules are required under Senate Bill 3, passed by the 87th Texas Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott.
MGD surface water treatment plant, 500,000-gallon elevated tank with tank mixer, 397,000 gallon standpipe with tank mixer, Alvarez Booster Station w/two close coupled pumps with VFD, and a water distribution system with looped dead ends and automated drive-by water meters. 2022 Ranchers Round-Up Scheduled
As cattle feed prices increase and calf prices begin to decline, producers will need to evaluate the profitability of various best management practices. Business people have known for many years, that planning is needed to guide management decisions. You wouldn’t drive to an unknown location without consulting a map. The same principle applies to ranching.
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Starr Soil & Water Conservation District, USDA-NRCS, USDAFSA, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Prairie View A&M Cooperative Extension Program and Texas Mexico Border Coalition will be having a Rancher’s Program on Thursday, November 03, 2022 at the San Isidro Parish Hall in San Isidro, Tx. The rancher’s
program will feature information on wildlife management, heirs property, whole farm planning, USDA Farm/Ranch programs and range and brush management using drone technology. The program will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 1:00 p.m. with a noon meal sponsored by Valley Telephone Cooperative. The program is free of charge. There will also be many door prizes sponsored by Capital Farm Credit, and Texas Farm Bureau.
The sponsors are very excited about this program and hope that you can join them on November 3rd . Please call (956) 487-2306 to RSVP (This will help us make meal plans). The program is free of charge and is open to all area agriculture producers.

beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. In response to the murder of DEA
parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction caused by drugs in America.
