DAY ONE & TWO: As we head southward to the coast of Georgia, we’ll overnight in North Carolina. Our next stop is in South Carolina where we will enjoy a guided tour through the historic neighborhood of Beaufort, known as the “Queen of the Carolina Sea Islands”. The second oldest city in South Carolina, Beaufort is known for its antebellum architecture, pedestrian friendly downtown with horse drawn carriages, and its scenic location on Port Royal Island. Later, we’ll stop to tour Parris Island Marine Base, a main

recruit training station for the United States Marine Corp. Highlights of our visit will be the Iwo Jima Monument, Parade Field and the Parris Island Museum. Our next two overnights are in Savannah. Meal: Breakfast

DAY THREE: Our full day in Savannah includes a trolley tour through Savannah’s beautiful historic squares, River Street, City Market and a visit to the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace. Discover and see how she became one of the most significant women of her time. The afternoon is free to explore the beauty and history of the wonderful city of Savannah. Tonight, enjoy a show at The Savannah Theatre restored in the classic 1940’s Art Deco style. This musical comedy production will have you laughing, singing and tapping your toes to the melodies of well-known songs of the past and current hits as well. Meal: Breakfast

DAY FOUR: Today, we’re off to Charleston, located at the confluence of the Ashley and Cooper rivers, which flow together into the Atlantic Ocean. We’ll learn more about this city whose name is derived from Charles Towne, named after King Charles II of England. Our guided sightseeing tour includes the old historic city of Charleston, Charleston Harbor,

The Battery, Rainbow Row, Four Corners of Law, The College of Charleston, and drive-through the Citadel, the military college of South Carolina. We’ll have the remainder of the afternoon on our own to explore this wonderful historic city. Tonight we’ll enjoy a dinner cruise on The Spirit of Carolina, the largest and most elegant dining yacht to ply the waters of Charleston Harbor. We’ll cruise past the palatial homes of Charleston’s famous Battery and the towering Cooper River Bridges as we feast on a gourmet 4-course meal, complete with live entertainment and dancing. DAY FIVE: This morning, we visit Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, a 17th century estate. Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, Magnolia Plantation has survived the centuries and witnessed the history of our nation unfold before it from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond. It is the oldest public gardens in America, opening its doors to visitors in 1870 to view the thousands of beautiful flowers and plants in its famous gardens. Walk along a myriad of winding paths through one of the largest collections of camellias and azaleas in America. Enjoy a box lunch and even ride

DAY ONE: Ride our deluxe motorcoach in comfort towards an enchanted land, where time was frozen so completely at the turn of the century, it even rules out all motorized transportation. Mackinac Island is truly the “all natural” theme park of America. Limited to transportation of horse and buggy, bicycle or foot, surrounded by water, it has escaped the vast changes of time. Its real Victorian image is preserved and enhanced by a small population of 500 permanent warm and friendly residents and scores of summer residents, maintaining bluff cottages in original state. Explore the historic, natural beauty of Mackinac Island and enjoy the downtown hustle and bustle of the early 1800s. Our first overnight is in Ohio.

DAY TWO: Today, we travel to Dearborn, Michigan where we’ll take the Ford Rouge Factory Tour and learn the epic story of the Rouge, the history and future of auto manufacturing, and see a panoramic view of the 10-acre “living roof.” We even walk through a gallery of legendary vehicles produced at the Rouge including the Ford Model A, Thunderbird, Mustang, and the Ford F-150. Later, we’ll rediscover America at Greenfield Village created to preserve items of historical significance and portray the Industrial Revolution. The property houses a vast array of famous homes, historic buildings, parlors, gardens, machinery, exhibits, and Americana. Tonight we spend in Plymouth, Michigan. Meal: Breakfast

DAY THREE: Today, it’s off to the Straits of Mackinac for a ferry ride to the “magical land” of Mackinac Island. When we step off of the Island Ferry Dock, we’ll be in a living Victorian village. Our first stop is the Mackinac Island Butterfly House, filled with hundreds of live butterflies from four continents. DAY ONE: After arriving in Virginia, we’ll enjoy a traditional plantation style dinner at The Boxwood Inn, a gracious 1896 Southern mansion, followed by an actual paranormal investigation and a chance to learn about the tools and methods used to capture evidence of ghosts among us. ACCOMMODATIONS: TRIPLES and QUADS are sold with the understanding that there will be two double beds in the room. In some hotels, triple accommodations are two beds and a roll-away cot. If cots are available, they may be subject to an additional charge by the hotel. ADJACENT ROOM, ADJOINING ROOM, 1st FLOOR ROOM, and SMOKING/NON-SMOKING ROOM requests can be made at the time of booking, but cannot always be guaranteed. GRATUITIES: The cost of your tour includes gratuities for hotel bellmen, meals included in the tour, and all related taxes, unless otherwise specified. Gratuities for Guides, Tour Directors, and Drivers are not included in the price of your tour. If you wish, such appreciation may be extended on an individual basis. If you must cancel your motorcoach tour for any reason right up to the time of your departure, the full cost of your tour will be refunded to you (less the Tour Protection fee). It’s simple… there are no doctor’s notes, pre-existing condition clauses, forms to be filled out, penalties or cancellation charges – no questions asked! And… with Starr’s Interruption Assurance, if your overnight tour is interrupted due to illness or emergency, you will receive a refund for the cost of the remainder of your tour.

Starr’s Tour Protection Plan is not offered on certain ticketed events. Tour Protection fee is non-refundable, non-transferable and does not cover increases due to roommate cancellations.
