Horizons is the collage of feelings and the simultaneous relationship of time and its emotional correspondence. Inspired by the work of both Ansel Adams and Andreas Gursky, Horizons seeks to define the emotion landscapes can portray. Going from left to right I intended the photograph to be read as a story. There’s the beginning, joyful and free, the journey that travels through the heart of a glowing city, and the turmoil of sudden loneliness that ends in a quiet forest. Can the natural landscape speak to us emotionally? And can it even be read the same way as human expression? These are the questions I hoped to ponder with Horizons.

Day in the Life
The contrast from night to day is something that has always fascinated me. The way a scene can dramatically change is beautiful. Shadows are more present during the day were taken to explore the relationship between two points in time. The one on the left was located in the heart of a bustling intersection at the hottest time of day. The one are a similarity that was intentionally staged to bring a level of cohesion to the set. Both photos have a splash of color at the main point of the frame. There is so much beauty

Escape into the Night
day while the glow of artificial light is prominent during the nighttime. Taken in the same city, these photographs one on the right was taken in the silence of the night, completely alone in the darkness. The angles in the photos beauty to be found in the world around us and I can’t help but imagine how much a place can change in just a day.
