• Grouped Ages: Kinder Camp (ages 5-6), Creative Kids (ages 7-10) and ARTS U (ages 11-14) • Convenient: All Arts Escape classes located at Bracher Elementary in Santa Clara (you don’t have to be a Bracher student to attend) • 2-week sessions; June 18-29 or July 2-13 (no classes on July 4) • Afternoon care available —the fun continues from lunch through 4:00 pm

Camp Details:
Enrollment Deadline: Friday, May 25, 2012. Payment is needed to guarantee your child’s spot. How it works: Campers will choose up to 4 classes per 2-week session, according to their age group; Creative Kids: ages 7-10 and ARTS U: ages 11-14. Your child will attend each class at the same time every day for the entire two week session. Campers will be responsible for changing classes—we suggest you come the Friday before the session starts to help your child locate each classroom. All campers will receive a lanyard/i.d. with their individual schedules printed, to help them find their classes. All classes contained and supervised in one area of Bracher Elementary. Dress for a mess: The best way to experience the arts is to get your hands dirty. Campers will receive an Arts Escape t-shirt to wear to camp. What to bring: Sunscreen, a water bottle, snack, and a good attitude. If you’re staying for Arts Extension bring a lunch. Appropriate shoes are essential (no flip-flops, Crocs, or boots). Logistics: Drop off at 8:00 and pick up at 12:10 each day at Bracher Elementary. Campers who are also attending Arts Extension should be picked up by 4:00 pm.
Policies:
Refund Policy: Starting Arts will refund enrollment fees minus a $25 processing fee until May 25, 2012. There are no refunds after the deadline (May 25, 2012). Late Parent Pick-Up Policy: It is imperative that parents are on time to pick-up students at the conclusion of the program. There will be a late fee of $15 for every 15 minutes you are late (or a fraction thereof ). Payment is due at time of pick up. Failure to pick up your student on a continuous basis could result in the child’s removal from the program. No refund will be issued. Pottery: Get your hands dirty creating art projects out of clay. Explore your artistic talents in 3D. This is a 2 period class. Creative Kids- Periods: 1 and 2 (8:00-9:55); ARTS U- Periods: 3 and 4 (10:15-12:10) Art & Nature: In this 2 period class, we will get
creative with recycled materials, making beautiful art from nature. Create flowers out of recycled clothing, stamp with food, paint reusable tote bags, make stunning watercolors from still life and more! This is a 2 period class. Creative Kids-Periods: 3 and 4 (10:15-12:10); ARTS U- Periods: 1 and 2 (8:00-9:55)
Fabric Art: Students will create multidimensional art using fabrics, embellishments, buttons and more. These bright and cheerful projects will bring smiles. This is a 2 period class. Creative Kids-Periods: 3 and 4 (10:15-12:10); ARTS U- Periods: 1 and 2 (8:00-9:55) Photography: This class will focus on the creation of photo images and producing sequences with meaning. Students will develop skills through different techniques and concepts. Explore colors, shapes, and self-portrait. This is a 2 period class. Creative Kids- Periods: 1 and 2 (8:00-9:55); ARTS U- Periods: 3 and 4 (10:15-12:10) Materials: Child must bring a basic digital camera to every class session. Real Rock Band: Want to be a rock star? Start your rock band
training now! Students will learn their individual instruments as well as how to work together as a group. This is a 2 period class. ARTS U- Periods: 1 and 2 (8:00-9:55) Materials: Child must being his/her own instrument to every class session.
Guitar: Young musicians will enjoy this
introduction to guitar. Students will learn to play several songs. Creative Kids- Period: 1, Period: 2; ARTS UPeriod: 3, Period:4 Materials: Child must bring his/her own acoustic guitar to every class session.

African Drumming and Stepping: Learn
dynamic rhythm patterns of traditional African and Afro-Latin songs and incorporate drum patterns using Djembe, DunDun, and Conga drums. Get an introduction in movement using the entire body to make rhythm. Creative Kids- Period: 3, Period: 4 ; ARTS U- Period: 1, Period: 2
Vocal Jam: Learn to use your voice as an instrument by singing popular songs in an eclectic a capella style. If you are a fan of NBC’s The Sing Off, this jam session is for you! Creative Kids-Period: 1, Period: 3; ARTS U- Period: 2, Period: 4 Broadway Bound: Learn choreography and music from
Broadway hits and expose yourself to the work of legendary choreographers and songwriters. Creative Kids-Period: 2, Period: 4; ARTS U- Period: 1, Period: 3
Acting Explorers: Let your imagination come alive. Play
theatre games and participate in acting out a short scene, short story, or poem that will bring your characters to life. Learn body movement and stage awareness, while improving projection and improvisational skills. Creative Kids-Period: 1, Period: 3
Actors Workshop: Students will focus on practicing and performing monologues, scenes and short plays as well as building improvisation theater skills. ARTS U-Period: 2, Period: 4

Life in small-town Bomont is peaceful until City boy, Ren, arrives. Breaking every taboo, Ren brings dance back to the heart of a town held back by the memory of a tragedy. This 4 week camp will culminate with performances of this electrifying musical July 12-14, 2012! During this Short Film Camp students will create the 10-15 minute introduction to the TERRA world, and the back story of the Empress Amara character. In addition to acting in the movie, you will get hands-on editing experience; taking the raw footage--adding music and sound effects--and turning it into the finished film. The majority of the film will be shot in the studio (Location TBD). There will be several location shoots and possibly night-shooting. Terra Film Camp Grades: 6-12 Dates: July 16th-August 3rd , 2012 Days/Times: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm Location: TBA Cost: $650 - A world rich with magic hangs in the balance between salvation or complete annihilation. The prophecies tell of the one who has come before, and shall come again, to save mankind. Is it destiny or chance that brings together a ragtag band of would-be heroes? The signs are right; the time of the hero is upon us!
