Laura’s work rewarded

Woodend’s Laura Crozier has taken out the title of Macedon Ranges Young Citizen of the Year for her work promoting mental health and gender diversity.

Laura was a proud recipient at Macedon Ranges council’s 2018 Australia Day Awards at Kyneton Town Hall on Friday. The year 10 student told Star Weekly she was “extremely” excited to have been selected.

Laura said she had been driven to be a mental health advocate since undertaking Macedon Ranges council’s Live4Life program at Gisborne Secondary College as a year 8.

“I just loved it,” she recalled. “I wanted to join the crew and teach it to the other year levels.”

Over the past two years, Laura has taught the Live4Life program, organised and hosted Life4Life events and has been an ambassador at events such as the Macedon Ranges Suicide Prevention Group Walk and the Macedon Ranges Health Service Colour Run. At the award ceremony on Friday, the Citizen of the Year Award was given to CFA and SES volunteer Di Dale.

Nadine Hartnett received the award for Arts Ambassador, and Graham Boyd, Julie McLaren and Peter Mitchell were honoured with Community Achievement Awards.

Fight to protect Ranges

By Serena Seyfort A residents group is rallying the Macedon Ranges community to fight the state government’s proposed planning protections for their “beloved Ranges”.

Labelling the government’s plan “a road to death by a thousand cuts”, A Forum for Democratic Renewal is calling for residents to say “no” to the draft Macedon Ranges Localised Planning Statement. The group is hosting sessions to encourage alternative solutions for sustainable development in response to state government calls for feedback.

The draft Macedon Ranges Localised Planning Statement, which will complement new legislation to provide greater protection against “inappropriate development” in Victoria’s iconic areas, was released by the state government for public comment in December.

This week the Victorian government is hosting community consultation sessions on the draft in Kyneton, Gisborne, Romsey and Woodend.

A Forum for Democratic Renewal will run its meetings directly after these sessions “to ensure people are well informed” about the draft statement, according to group member

Rob Bakes. He said the group wanted to support residents in writing their own submissions about the plan, which the group describes as heading “down the destructive growth path”.

The group argues the draft adds hundreds of hectares for possible development to the current Settlement Strategy and does not stipulate rural character should be preserved.

Earlier this month, Macedon Ranges Residents Association told Star Weekly the draft plan was “locking in growth, not protection”.

A Forum for Democratic Renewal was formed prior to Macedon Ranges council’s election in 2016. The group held forums asking

the community to decide what it wanted from a council, before producing how-to-vote cards.

Feedback on the draft is being taken by the state government until February 19. Time’s up for tours of former Sunbury asylum Locals are racing to get tickets to a Sunbury Historical Tour before the former mental asylum site is shut behind a fence.

It seems time is almost up for the beloved tours after Victoria University issued the business with a termination notice last month.

The notice said Sunbury Historical Tours’ contract with the university would end on January 28, which has since been extended until the end of February.

to run the tours, said the university had not disclosed if the tours could continue beyond February.

Mr Free said the university had begun boarding up windows over the past few weeks, and that a fence was soon to be erected around the buildings. CCTV is already in place.

The Victorian Planning Authority released a draft masterplan for the Jacksons Hill site in November, detailing plans for construction at the grounds. But the final plan for the site is yet to be released.

Tour business owner Julie Mills posted on Facebook that the building had been sold, and that “negotiations will likely take place with the new owners of this property in due course” about recommencing the tours.

Residents have taken to Facebook to mourn an end to the tours.

“Such a big loss to our community,” one Facebook user posted.

Mr Free said extra tours were being held in February, but they were already almost booked out. He said people had loved taking the tours through the heritage-listed buildings.

“People love it, they come from all over the state,” Mr Free said. “We’ve had people come from Beechworth and Packenham.”

On top of raising eight children and her career, the now great-grandmother has volunteered in the community ever since she was a teenager.

Mrs Clemson was made an officer of the Order of Australia on Friday for her service to the Macedon Ranges community.

She has volunteered in too many roles to name during her 30 years at Bullengarook and five years living in Gisborne.

One of her favourite volunteer roles was at Riding for the Disabled. She said there was nothing quite like seeing the sheer joy on people’s faces as she took them horse riding.

Mrs Clemson is currently fundraising for a respite house for people with dementia and Parkinson’s as an executive member of Woodend Lifestyle Carers Support group.

Having cared for her ill husband for years, she knows that carers don’t get much respite.

“It’s jolly hard work and you just burn out.”

was to be demolished in 1987 – the only historic public building remaining in Bullengarook – Mrs Clemson organised and fundraised for its relocation. She founded and was president of Bullengarook Historical Society, and the schoolhouse became a community building, used by Gisborne Youth group.

Mrs Clemson was a councillor for the Shire of Gisborne from 1993-1995, before it amalgamated into Macedon Ranges council.

With youth being one of her council portfolios, Mrs Clemson said she kept quiet knowing the community’s few homeless youth were using the former schoolhouse overnight.

Volunteering for Guide Dogs Victoria for more than 18 years is just one of the ways Russell Walker has serviced Victoria and his local Macedon Ranges community.

The Gisborne resident of 30 years was made an officer of the Order of Australia on Friday for his service to the state community.

His commitment to the vision impaired has included 18 years as a board member for Guide Dogs Victoria, with five years as chairman.

He stepped up to be on the board of Guide Dogs Victoria for six years, and, with his wife Marlene, has trained and cared for 16 guide dog puppies, two guide dog breeders and a retired guide dog.

Mr Walker has been a director of local water supplier Western Water since 2015.

From 2010-15 he was a director of Coliban Water, including deputy chairman for two years. In the public sector, Mr Walker was the Assistant Auditor-General of Victoria for the state government for 20 years.

He also led the Western Bulldogs Football Club’s fundraising group for five years as chairman. Locally, the Gisborne resident has been the vice-president of the Gisborne and District Lions Club since 2016 and is on the board of Gisborne and District Bowling Club. Mr Walker was on Macedon Ranges Health’s board from 2012-2017.

Piper pops for market A small village of gazebos pops up on Piper Street in Kyneton on the second Saturday of every month.

Surrounding the Duck Duck Goose and Larder delicatessen, the stalls offer a wide variety of food, produce and crafts for the Rotary Club of Kyneton’s community market.

Items up for grabs range from bric a brac to art, clothes, plants, wine, honey, egg and bacon sandwiches and sweets.

Vendors come from all over Victoria to be part of the market alongside local producers.

David Hinrichsen from Delicious Delicacies in Castlemaine attends the market to sell his handmade chocolate truffles.

The Rotary club contributes the markets’ proceeds to its local community projects. Last

year travel and accomodation for club members accompanying students on a schoolies alternative in Vietnam were funded by the markets.

The market kicks off at 9am and continues on until about 2pm. The next one will take place on Saturday, February 10.

Firefighters from 18 CFA Brigades responded to multiple grass fires alongside the Calder Freeway in Kyneton about 2.30pm on Tuesday, January 23. The freeway was closed as crews worked to extinguish the six fires on either side of the roads between Edgecombe Street and Burton Avenue.

A fire investigator said the fires were started by a truck’s brake drum. The freeway was reopened at 6pm.

Train travel

Last month 89.4 per cent of Metro trains on the Sunbury line ran on time, falling short of the operator’s target of 92 per cent under Metro’s new contract with Public Transport Victoria, which came into effect on November 30. PTV chief executive Jeroen Weimar said Metro needed to lift its game after its first full month on the new contract.

Meet your next fur baby

By Serena Seyfort Anyone considering adopting a pet can head to Sunbury PETstock on Sunday – National Pet Adoption Day – to learn about the process and meet potential furry family members.

The Sunbury store is home to rescue animals who have been left at Woodend’s Pets Haven animal shelter.

After loving working alongside the rescue

pets at the shop for years, Sunbury PETstock employee Kristen Rice adopted her own last year.

Kristen and her partner Ty adore their rescue pet, Lenny, who is a blue, domestic shorthair cat.

“We love him,” Kristen said. “He’s the most affectionate cat in the world.”

“He sleeps on my head nearly every night – or he sleeps between us.”

Kristen said for an unknown reason Lenny only has half an ear, which makes the couple love him even more.

Kristen said they would encourage anyone who is thinking about adopting a pet to come into the store and find out more.

Pet adoption experts from local animal rescue groups will be at Sunbury PETstock, 85 Vineyard Road, from 10am-2pm on Sunday, February 4.

Prevention of elder abuse will be targeted

by Macedon Ranges council this year.

The council will establish one of Victoria’s 10 state government-funded Elder Abuse Prevention Networks to look at the needs and experiences of Macedon Ranges’ older people who could be subject to abuse.

Mayor Jennifer Anderson said the project aimed to strengthen and support older people in the community.

“Elder abuse is any form of violence and mistreatment that causes harm to an older person and occurs within a relationship of trust,” Cr Anderson said.

“Through this project we hope to find out more about ways we can support older people so this doesn’t happen.

“It is estimated that about six per cent of older people [in Australia] experience such abuse.”

There is no current data about elder abuse for the Macedon Ranges, but the council said it hoped the project would indicate its prevalence locally.

Cr Anderson said the network would encourage residents to recognise elder abuse and to report the behaviour.

“We also plan to raise awareness about elder abuse so it is more likely to be reported,” she said.

The network will work with elderly service providers, older people and the community to work to prevent the abuse.

The desire of a couple of long-time best buddies for bohemian market magic led to good vibes in Bulla.

On the third Sunday of every month – except for January, June and July – Green Street is abuzz with stalls, activities, food and music as the Good Vibrations Bohemian Bulla Market unfolds.

About 130 stalls feature the likes of card readers and healers, jewellery, clothing, workshops and free face painting. The variety of different food on offer is also a drawcard, with vendors of Lebanese, Chinese, vegan and Australian barbecue tucker hitting town for the occasion.

The market is run by Sunbury’s Kerri Forde and Attwood’s Donna Cuffe. The pair, who

have been best friends since they were just 13, set up the market three years ago when they couldn’t find any bohemian markets to visit in Melbourne.

Ms Forde said the market had rapidly grown in popularity since it began and was increasingly bringing tourism to the area.

She said the Bulla Hill Railway had adapted its hours to coincide with the market.

The next Good Vibrations Bohemian Bulla Market will take place on Sunday, February 18, from 9am-3pm at 5 Green Street, Bulla.

Woman filmed at poisoning site

By Serena Seyfort Police are appealing for witnesses after two dogs were poisoned at a Sunbury property.

One border collie died and another was left in a critical condition after the January 21 incident.

A woman was filmed loitering in front of the dogs’ home in Underhill Court on the night of the poisonings.

Police said CCTV footage showed a woman, believed to be caucasian and in her late 30s to early 40s, outside the house where the dogs were living between 10pm and 11.30pm.

Detective Senior Constable Matthew Wilson-Hawe said the suspect could be “seen loitering for a significant period of time” before she is “chased away” by the house’s resident.

“It’s clear that she’s going to be involved,” he said.

But he said police had not identified any reason for the baiting.

He told Star Weekly the suspect had “a partially shaved head” in the footage and was wearing “white, baggy shorts”.

Senior Detective Wilson-Hawe said the type of poison used had not been identified, but came in the form of “white, round tablets”.

The detective said one dog died on the way to a vet and the second dog was “very ill”.

“It’s going to have brain damage – if it makes it,” he said.

Enjoying the big screen Families are being encouraged to make the most of summer evenings with a free outdoor cinema experience to take place in Sunbury on Saturday, February 17.

MY PLACE This year marks Romsey Golf Club president Anthony Lakey’s 30th year as part of the Romsey community. He speaks with Serena Seyfort about his connection to the area.

How long have you been in Sunbury and Macedon Ranges?

I was born and raised on a farm on what used to be called Sunbury backroad. Then I taught all over the state in my career as a teacher. My wife Kathleen and I bought land in Romsey in 1986 and moved onto it in August 1988. We’ve been here ever since.

In what ways have you been involved with the local community?

Romsey itself is a very pretty town. It’s got a beautiful main street and some lovely, lovely old buildings. Up until recently, it wasn’t very developed, and it was a very sleepy, quiet country town. We’re sort of turning it into a commuter town at the moment. But I think a lot of the people coming to Romsey are coming because they want to be in Romsey, not because the land is cheap or anything else. I think they want to be involved and have a marked effect on the township, which will be good for the town.

If you could change anything about the area, what would it be?

If I could turn back the clock, I’d keep all the railway lines from before 1956. It’s a real pity we lost all of those lines.

I also think it would be good if we got a pub back, where people can go and have a quiet drink and take the family down for a meal. All towns need something like that. We’re lucky – we’ve got some great little restaurants and cafes, but a pub is a pub, and it holds a special place in country towns.

We as a community need to have options for children when they get a bit older. All levels of government need to work to give youth something to do. There are a lot of children moving into the area, and they will grow up and need activity.

In 1992, I was appointed principal of Hesket Primary School. I also taught at Sunbury West Primary School for a year, and was based at the Western school support centre for three years, working in the special education unit for the Sunbury and Gisborne area.

My son, Alex, now 27, and daughter, Jess, who is now 25, both went to Romsey Primary School then Kyneton Secondary College. We were very, very pleased with Kyneton.

I’ve been the president of Romsey Golf Club for the past five years, and just recently I’ve been involved in the new committee of management for the Romsey Rag. Since my retirement in 2010, I’ve also become involved with Romsey Mechanics Institute.

I’m the chairman of the committee. My wife Kathleen is the secretary. She’s also secretary of Lancefield Macedon Ranges Relay for Life committee, and she’s involved in Romsey Neighbourhood House.

Kyneton Historical Society’s annual cemetery walk will be held on Wednesday, February 14, from 6pm. Cemetery trust members will share stories about the town’s early settlers. Music in the Sticks

Macedon Ranges council is encouraging more young people to join its free group for 14-25 year olds. Music in the Sticks meetings are held at the Woodend Community Centre every fortnight on Tuesdays from 4.30-6pm. The next session will be on February 6. SPORT Outright joy for Ashfield

By Tara Murray Ashfield enjoyed a perfect day as it nailed an outright win and stormed into the Gisborne and District Cricket Association B-grade top four.

Having set up the match against Riddell on day one by making 8-325, Ashfield executed everything to plan on day two to seal the outright against the bottom side.

Ashfield president and first XI player Nathan Anderson said it was the first outright win for the side in his time with the club.

He said the club hadn’t seen a day like it in a long time and that the win would give the side a lot of confidence.

“It was good day, a pretty exciting one,” he said. “Everything worked well and the plans we had in place all worked.

“It made being in the field in the heat all day 100 per cent more enjoyable.”

Ashfield shared the wickets around in the first innings as it bowled Riddell out for 106.

The best was yet to come for Ashfield – it skittled Riddell for 47 in its second innings.

Anderson was the destroyer, taking the first six wickets.

“It was just crazy – we just steamrolled them,” he said.

The win moves Ashfield up to third and in with a real shot of making the finals.

That’s something that Anderson and his side didn’t envisage at the start of the season, having finished bottom in B grade last year.

If it wasn’t for the grade expanding to 10 teams, the side could have quite easily been in C grade this season.

“With the fixture we have left, we don’t play anyone above us,” Anderson said.

“We’re looking at a top two finish, but definitely the first goal is playing finals.

“At the start of the year, the goal was not to

be relegated. It was to see what we had and to go from there.”

In a boost for the club, Corey Woolley has returned to the side.

Woolley spent the first part of the season at Sunbury United in the McIntyre Cup, before returning to Ashfield, where he has played most of his cricket.

Anderson said Woolley, whose first game back was against Riddell, would add plenty with bat and ball and add some handy McIntyre Cup experience. He took three wickets in Riddell’s first innings.

In other results, Eynesbury slipped outside the top four with a shock loss to Bacchus Marsh.

Macedon, which was in the box seat against Wallan, let slip the opportunity to get a win against a top two side by losing early wickets.

East Sunbury remains in the top four after beating Kyneton and St Anthonys had a massive win against Gisborne.

Storm rains on Riddells Willow Cup hopes A thunderstorm ruined Riddell’s hopes of claiming a second Central Highlands Cricket Willow Cup in three years.

Playing in the grand final for a third straight year, claiming the title of the region’s best T20 side and a spot in TAC Cup Regional Big Bash finals was on the line for the Bombers on Australia Day. But in the end the Bombers and Golden Point had to settle for a draw and the match being rescheduled to October.

Bombers playing coach Mick Allen said was an interesting day.

“It was pretty dark early on and then it hammered down,” he said.

“The game was rescheduled to October when both sides could have different teams. It was either that or a toss of the coin, which neither side wanted.

“There was a chance to start the game earlier but that didn’t happen which would have meant it could have been decided

by Duckworth-Lewis.” The match got underway with thunderstorms brewing in the background.

The Bombers started in a familiar fashion with Allen hitting out early on to get his side off to a good start.

The Bombers got off to a flyer, before Golden Point stemmed the flow and restricted the Bombers to 9-130.

Allen said the total was probably 20 to 30 short of what they would have liked.

Allen top scored making 28 and Cameron Moran made 27.

Golden Point started its innings as the storms approached.

Just 1.2 overs were bowled before play was halted due to the storms and the players didn’t get back on the field, resulting in the draw.

The Bombers had to back it up the next day, in day two of their Gisborne and District Cricket Association McIntyre Cup match against Romsey.

The Bombers got the runs, with two wickets in hand.

Allen said the match ended up tighter than it should have been. “At 4-140 we had the game in control,” he said.

“We had to push guys up the order due to a few circumstances. As long as we batted out time we thought we had enough batting power in the shed.”

Craig Ballinger top scored with 48, while Allen and Moran, who were both pushed down the order, got the side home.

The win leaves the Bombers undefeated and second on the ladder.

The next three matches will be a test for them, as they face Woodend in both a two-dayer and

Bowls survey as changes loom for CHBD The Central Highlands Bowls Division could be in a for a shake-up next season.

With a number of players suggesting changes to the competition, the board has created a survey that will be distributed to all players.

CHBD president Glenn Arthur said this was the best way to get an idea what the players want from the competition.

“The current format of the competition is the old style,” Arthur said.

“Some players are asking why we don’t do the same format as the metro competitions.

“Others say we should have just three rinks instead of four.

“So we decided to create the survey and ask the questions.”

Arthur said the survey would cover a range of questions, including starting early, keeping the competition the same or reducing the number of teams in division 1.

Questions will be yes/no questions.

Once the results were collaborated, Arthur said that decisions would be based on majority rules.

Meanwhile, the division’s winter competition will be a different, quicker format this year.

Arthur said the aim behind that was to attract new and social bowlers to the competition.

Sunbury got a clear indication of the gap between it and top side Moonee Valley on Saturday in Bowls Victoria pennant division 1, section 1.

The third-placed Sunbury proved no match for Moonee Valley which won 94 (18)-65 (0) on a tricky green.

Having started earlier to avoid the heat, Mark Cowan’s rink was the best on the day for Sunbury, losing by three shots.

Carla Krizanic’s rink lost by 10, Marc Bullow’s by nine shots and Todd Trewarne’s lost by seven shots.

The loss opens up a bigger gap between Sunbury and the top two sides, with Sunbury now 28 points behind second-placed Glenroy, which also had an 18-0 win.

Sunbury remains in third spot, 21 points ahead of Essendon (2), which Sunbury plays in two weeks. This week, Sunbury faces sixth placed Fitzroy-Victoria.

Saturday was a tough day for Sunbury with just one side, the third team, getting a win.

Meanwhile, the club’s men’s championship has been postponed for a second time. This time due to the heat on Sunday.

Wayne Long and Brad Janner are now expected to play the final this Sunday.

District’s best to face off in T20 all-star games Some of the Gisborne and District Cricket Association’s best players will join forces for two all-star games.

The brainchild of Ashfield’s Jason King, the idea was to get as many of the best players playing together in the one spot.

A number of players showed interest in playing, so two T20 games consisting of players mostly from the top three grades will take to the field on February 10.

“It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a fair while,” King said.

“Obviously not playing in the McIntyre Cup you don’t get to see a lot of these guys play.

“So I decided to try and get as many of the good players at the one ground.”

King said he had been overwhelmed by the amount of interest by players wanting to be involved. He said there was others who would have loved to been involved, but already had

other commitments or injury concerns.

He said he had players from most teams at this stage, with a few spots still available in both teams. Ideally he would love to have players from as many clubs as possible.

The teams have been split into east and west sides for both games.

“I’ve tried to share it around between the teams,” he said. “So I had to limit how many players from some teams.”

Players set to be involved so far include Gisborne’s Jarryd Vernon, Jay King and Darcy Nolan, Riddell’s Heath Wadden, Sunbury United’s Leif Louwen-Skovdam, Wallan’s Kieran Atkin and Brenton Hanson, St Anthonys’ Cam Clayton, Eynesbury’s Luke and Hayden Castle, Sunbury’s Justin Nelson, Diggers Rest Bulla’s Lindon Dowsett and Rhys Berry, East Sunbury’s Liam Sherlock and Rupertswood’s Josh Smith.

King, who wouldn’t look out of place playing in the game, said he would most likely make himself an emergency in case there were last minute withdrawals.

“I’m happy to just be the organiser,” he said.

“I’m more than keen to watch it and see some of the players I’ve always wanted to watch.”

King said with a lot of club’s getting behind the idea, he is hoping that a big crowd will get down to Boardman Reserve to watch the matches.

As well as the on-field action the day will include activities for the crowd, a barbecue and music.

The first game starts at 10.30am and the second game will start at 1pm.

Rupo ready for run home

By Tara Murray Rupertswood got a much needed win in its quest to stay in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association’s McIntyre Cup. One of four sides separated by less then seven points, every win along with every run and wicket is important in the run home.

Facing Lancefield, which is in the same predicament as Rupo in trying to survive in the top grade, it was always going to be a hard fought match.

The Tigers made 9-133 on day one on a pitch which was hard to score on.

Rupo ended up getting the runs seven wickets down and were eventually all out for 191.

Rupo coach Andrew Pizaro said it was much needed win for the side.

“Having beaten them earlier in the season, we were expected to win and they were without Luke Barker,” he said.

“Had we lost the game we deserved to be in the bottom bracket and deserved to be looking at relegation.

“It was a game where everyone contributed.

Michael Treweek top scored with 51 to guide the side to victory, while Jordan Curran made 50 at the top of the order.

Pizaro said everyone knows what Treweek can do and his patience is one of his greatest assets, while he said he had told Curran to be patient early on, as there would be opportunities to attack the bowlers.

Pizaro said while those two hit the scoreboard, a lot of players were able to spend time at the crease and he was hoping the runs would soon flow.

“If we want to win another two or three games, we need a couple of others to stand up and score well with the bat.

“A few guys at the end of the innings made some runs, so hopefully that brings some confidence.

“We’ve been doing it with the ball, now we have to with the bat.”

The win moves Rupo from ninth up to seventh with four matches remaining.

Rupo will see a lot of Gisborne over the next two weekends. They face each other in the two-dayer over the next two Saturdays and also play each other in a one-dayer on Sunday.

Pizaro said they hoped to get a couple more wins to ensure they don’t get relegated.

“We’ve started to play some good cricket, barring the Riddell game when it rained all day.

“We’ve got Gisborne in a double header and it will be interesting,” he said.

“It’s up to us to fight it out and see where things go. Upsets can happen towards the end of the season.”

In other results, Bacchus Marsh and Gisborne both narrowly missed out on claiming outright wins against Woodend and Diggers Rest Bulla respectively.

Sunbury has 150 reasons to celebrate The memories will be flowing at the Sunbury Cricket Club when the Roar celebrates 150 years.

Past players, coaches, committee members and supporters will gather at Sunbury Social Club on February 10 to celebrate the milestone.

Roar secretary Marty Kelders said the night would be a memorable one. He said the club is one of – if not the longest continuous sports club in Sunbury.

The club played its first match in October 1868 and joined its current competition, the Gisborne and District Cricket Association, in 1923.

Among the teams in the GDCA at that time were Lancefield, Romsey, Riddell, Macedon, Kyneton and Gisborne.

“So far we have had bookings from members of the 1952-53, 1954-55, 1986-87, 1992-93 and 2011-12 premiership teams,” Kelders said.

“We’ve got a number of guys in their 80s coming.

“It’ll be a night where everyone can reminisce about the past.”

Kelders said Clyde White, who was premiership captain of the 1969-70 team and Neil White, who was club captain in 1992-93, will be among the speakers on the night.

Ron Forbes, who played in the 1950s, is another who will share their memories with those in attendance.

Roar will launch its Hall of Fame with the first people inducted into it on the night.

Kelders said 27 people would be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

“We came up with a certain criteria to make them eligible for the Hall of Fame,” he said.

“Certain off field criteria like being on the committee or was a junior coach.

Then on field performance as well.

“We’ve got 27 people so far who will be inducted and every year we will be looking to build on it.”

The night will also celebrate 25 years since the 1992-93 season which was the most successful in the club’s history.

The Roar won three of the four GDCA flags on offer, with only the C-grade side, which finished runners-up, missing out.

Kelders encouraged those who hadn’t been invited, to get in touch with the club. Bookings are essential for the night.
