The not so Jekyll or lVlr. Hyde story. 'v\/c'vc always associated om teachers with the little red school house, but what do these book lovers do after. we leave them in peace?
If we were lo seek them out in their abodes,
we might find things of great interest. For instance, 1vliss Mahey has recently displayed her hidden artistic talent. She's redecorated her apartment with a c:crisr. (that's fusd1ia to the c::ommon per:.on} davenport and clmrlr<'usc drn11r-ric!t

They've even been daring enough lo wear the dresses. Gelling into the domestic side, /\•liss Fosselman car be found puzzling over a cookbook, preparing for the future. Anyone she findc will nccd n strong stomru:h. hut she's tryin~.

WE DO HUMBLY BOW The State Coll ege Arca .Joint Schools issues a new look around State High. Half Moon Township has combined with our local board to form a combined school hoard with the control equally centered between the two. The costs, however, are divided in proportion to student population. In th e Senior High School this year th ere arc 502 S ta te College pupil s in comparison with only 34 from Half Moon . Therefore, S tate College yields 93.7 percent of costs . The oth er townships which attend our fair hall s of lea rning are College, Patton , Ferguson and Harris. These students nwrely pay the tuition ancl th eir hoards do not I

The State College High School's Executive Student Council, ''th e government of the students, by tl,c s tudents", was presented with some new situations this year, one ol' them being the installation ol' a new
principal. The represen tatives. elected from homeroom, clubs, and sports activities, have taken these innovations in their stride and continued to perform .in the high manner set for them by their predecessors.
State College High School was well represented al the slate-wide conl'crence of high school student councils held in Bradford, Pennsylvania, in October. R epresen tatives Dave ]'vlargolf, Gladys Myers, Pct~ Farrell. Marilyn \l\l illiam s, "Duke" Secki~cr, Stewart Haller, Barbara Denniston, and Ronald Young benefited greatly from the conference.
l\1any good ideas can be gathered l'rom other sclwu ls and many of which were brought out al the conl'crcnce can be used effectively here in State High .
It is noteworthy tlmt ours was one of the few
sdwols in the state of Pennsylvania which could boast of having an effective student court.
