Small Business Sports Wagering Assistance Fund (SWAF)
The Sports Wagering Assistance Fund (SWAF) goal is to maximize the opportunity for small businesses, including minority-owned and women-owned businesses, to participate in the sports wagering industry.
SWAF may be used to provide grants to small businesses including women-owned and minority owned businesses for the following: •
sports wagering license application assistance
•
assistance with sports wagering operating costs
•
targeted training to support participation in the sports wagering industry.
What SWAF Can Do For Your Business? •
Reimbursement up to 50% of applications assistance costs not to exceed $10,000
•
Reimbursement up to 50% of licensing and background check fees not to exceed $25,000
•
Reimbursement up to 50% of operating costs not to exceed $50,000
•
Reimbursement up to 50% of training assistance not to exceed $50,000
Who is SWAF For? Small businesses including women-owned and minority owned businesses that are in good standing and meet Maryland’s sports wagering licensing requirements are invited to apply. Eligible types of applicants: Class B1 or B2 sports wagering facilities license Online mobile sports wagering operators Contractors or vendors for sports wagering services Mobile sports wagering licensees
