Transportation

When it comes to getting around the ASU campuses, students , faculty , and  staff have access to a variety of convenient transportation options. From campus shuttles to neighborhood circulators and public transportation services, ASU makes it easy for the university community to travel between locations.

Campus Shuttles

ASU offers free shuttle rides that follow specific routes, providing easy and convenient transportation on and between campuses. These shuttles also offer free WIFI on board, allowing riders to stay connected and be productive while on the go.

Te mpe Streetcar

The Tempe Streetcar offers a unique way to access neighborhoods from Rio Salado Parkway to Apache Blvd. Unlike the light rail, the streetcar shares the road with regular traffic and has a capacity for up to 125 people. With streetcars running every 15 minutes, it provides a quick and efficient mode of travel.

Valley Metro Rail

Traveling from North Phoenix through Tempe to East Mesa is made easy with the Valley Metro Rail. This option includes park-and-ride facilities, helping commuters save time, gas, and mileage. ASU students and faculty can purchase a pass for the school year for $150 , making it an affordable and efficient transportation choice.

Neighborhood Circulators

For those looking to explore Tempe and its surrounding neighborhoods, the FLASH shuttle and The Orbit offer convenient options. Both shuttles run every 15 minutes, providing frequent service for seamless travel.

For Arizona State University students, faculty, and staff, the Sun Devil Fitness Complex (SDFC) is the ultimate destination for health and wellness. This premier facility offers not just a gym, but a wide range of programs and services designed to keep the campus community active both inside and outside the complex.

Sports Clubs

For the serious and driven athletes, the SDFC’s sports clubs offer an exhilarating opportunity.

These student-led and coached teams compete against other universities locally and nationally, striving for league championships. Members can engage in weekly practices, host local tournaments, and organize fundraising and team bonding events.

ASU’s Live Well Community is dedicated to supporting you in your health and wellbeing journey.

Adaptive Recreation:

The SDFC goes the extra mile to celebrate diversity and inclusion. It provides inclusive recreational facilities, adaptive sports, and educational and cultural resources, reflecting its commitment to creating a welcoming space for everyone. The Adaptive Training Zone (ATZ) at the Tempe SDFC, specifically designed for individuals with physical disabilities, offers a private and inclusive space with adaptive equipment.

At the SDFC, wellness classes are not only an opportunity to get moving, but also to connect with others. Participants can choose from a variety of weekly classes, including yoga, martial arts, dance, spin, strength training, and even painting. These classes are an enjoyable way to stay active and make new friends.

Clubs

ASU has more than 1,000 student clubs and organizations that provide an opportunity for every student to get involved. Want to see all the clubs ASU has in store? Go to your campus’s Involvement Fair events! These events take place at the start of each semester in the months of August and January.

Greek Life

Career Related

For most majors, there are clubs where like-minded students can get together. Clubs like Business Ambassadors, American Society of Civil Engineers, Astronomy Club, Biomedical Engineering Society, Corporate and Business Law Journal, and many more exist to help students create a network within their industry.

Community Service

Health and Wellness

Accessibility

ASU prides itself on being an inclusive and accessible university for all students. Camp Kesem at ASU, Changemaker, Pitchfork Pantry, Disabled Law Students Association, are all created with accessibility in mind.

Personal Interest

There are hundreds or more clubs and groups at ASU for students’ personal interests. Some clubs like Air Devils, Chess Club, Dancing Devils, Entertainment Business Association, help students express their personal interest and connect with like-minded students.

360 Life Services

Health Resources

The 360 Life Services program is designed to help students with their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. With this program, students have access to 24/7 counseling and crisis intervention from qualified professionals. Students can also make use of virtual fitness, health assessments, well-being content, and get referrals to campus and community resources and services as needed. Talk in confidence with experts on personal finance, childcare, education, legal services and more.

EMPACT

EMPACT is ASU’s 24-hour crisis line. It’s available outside of normal business hours, as well as on holidays and weekends. Even if you’re not in crisis, you can call if you need guidance on how to handle a concern about a student or friend, or if you need a helpful resource. EMPACT is staffed by highly qualified, friendly professionals who are there to assist. Give them a call at 480-921-1006.

Same Day Services

ASU Counseling Services prioritizes immediate access to services to ensure that all students who request or need services can be seen the same day either in-person or through telehealth. Call or walk into one of their four campus locations to learn more.

Sexual Violence Awareness, Prevention, and Response

ASU takes all reports of such conduct seriously and is committed to taking appropriate action to hold violators accountable and to prevent any recurrence. In order to ensure that all members of our community have access to health and safety resources in case of an incident, all ASU employees are mandatory reporters and must report allegations of sexual assault/harassment. If you or someone you know is a victim of sexual violence, please visit ASU’s sexual violence prevention website to seek care and file a report. Scan our QR code to learn more.

Food Resources

Borderlands Produce Rescue

For just a $15 contribution, you can shop for up to 70 pounds of fresh produce for yourself, your family, or to share with others in need. Borderlands has 4 programs (Veggies R Us, Produce on Wheels WithOut Waste, Produce Travels, and Animals Love Veggies) that distribute rescued produce, so you can make a difference by supporting them.

Market on the Move

By making a $10 donation, you can get up to 60 pounds of fresh produce. The 3000 Club is a nonprofit charitable organization that is doing great work with food banks in Arizona, California, and other non-profit organizations You can help build a healthy community by donating or volunteering your time.

Pitchfork Pantry

The Pitchfork Pantry’s mission is to fight food insecurity and promote well-being for all ASU students. They’re now expanding their resources to include more diverse food options, hygiene products, and clothing. You can stay updated on their work by following them on Facebook and Instagram, and if you’d like to support them financially, visit the ASU Foundation website and search for “Pitchfork Pantry.”

TRIO is a set of federally funded college opportunity programs aimed at motivating and supporting 1st-generation, low-income, disabled, and veteran students in their pursuit of a college degree.

Sneaky Bird opened about 2 months ago. Sneaky bird specializes on their Never Ever Fried promise, offering cleaner chicken to the community. They offer many gluten free options as well. Try their chicken wraps, sandwiches, tenders and much more.

Off-Campus Housing Fair

Each year, ASU Student Media's Off-Campus Housing Division hosts two, FREE for students, OffCampus Housing Fairs that take place in November and March on ASU's Tempe campus. The event provides a one-stop shop for students, faculty, and staff to research the various off-campus living options. The Housing Fair is a unique on-campus opportunity for ASU students to speak personally with representatives from local housing and apartment communities. The event has expanded to include oncampus information as well as vendors that provide amenities and services related to living off-campus, thereby increasing the information students need before transitioning to off-campus living. Don't miss this huge event!

Looking for off-campus housing as an ASU student? Look no further than the ASU Off-Campus Housing website! It’s designed for ASU students and fellow community members. When you’re living on your own off-campus, it’s important to stay informed about your local housing laws. Be sure to keep up with Arizona’s disability laws, Tempe’s housing code, and the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.

Safety

The Safety Escort Service is an exceptional service that the Undergraduate Student Government provides to all members of Arizona State University.

The Safety Escort Service ensures students, faculty, and staff have a safer alternative than walking alone to campus parking lots, structures, and residence halls in the form of a golf cart or van. The Safety Escort Service provides an escort for free from any on-campus Tempe location.

How to request a ride: Download the LiveSafe app to request a SafeRide or call 480-965-1515.

Hours of operation: SafeRide operates during the academic school year, seven days a week from 7 PM to 2 AM. Service is closed during summer, winter, and spring breaks.

Call ASU Police at 480-965-3456 for safety escort at Downtown, Polytechnic and West campuses, or during off-hours.

Blue-Light Emergency Call Boxes: If you feel you are in danger and cannot make a call for help, be sure to find the nearest Blue-Light Emergency Call Box for assistance. Blue-Light Emergency Call Boxes will always be within sight of other Blue-Light Emergency Call Boxes if you cannot stay in one place.

LiveSafe Mobile App

The ASU LiveSafe App is a primary resource for safety at ASU. From the LiveSafe app, resources such as the Safety Escort Service, GoSafe, and other safety and emergency options are readily available, including contacting ASU PD and reporting.

LiveSafe also provides alerts and advisories when something has happened nearby, such as a power outage, crime, water leak, or fire. Depending on the severity, these advisories and alerts will also be sent to you via text message and email.

The ASU LiveSafe mobile app does not replace 911 emergency services or any local police department communications. In case of an emergency please contact 911 if needed.

ASU Police Department

The Arizona State University Police Department is dedicated to the safety of ASU students, faculty, and staff. The main headquarters of ASU PD is located on the Tempe campus, with substations at the Downtown, Polytechnic, and West campuses.

R.A.D. Self-Defense Programs

The Arizona State University Police Department offers free Rape Aggression Defense Systems (R.A.D.) selfdefense courses for all ASU community members. These courses are part of ASU’s initiative to decrease sexual violence on ASU campuses and in surrounding communities.

R.A.D. Systems provides realistic self-defense tactics and techniques classes. The comprehensive course for women begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, and progresses to hands-on defensive training.

Handshake is a job board designed for university students, offering internship opportunities, career fairs, hiring events, access to recruiters, and more.

On-Campus Student Jobs

If you prefer on-campus employment opportunities, you can access the student job portal through MyASU to explore available positions, and you might even discover a potential career interest.

Career Services

Need some help and aren’t sure where to start? Look into stopping by one of the many career service centers the university has to offer! Along with a university-wide career center, there are also career centers for specific schools at ASU!

Resume Assistance

Looking to brush up your resume? That’s available too! Submit your resume through Career Services to get some virtual feedback!

Are you a graduate student?
