COVID-19

Health & Safety in Athens ΥΓΕΙΑ ΚΑΙ ΑΣΦΑΛΕΙΑ GR Παρόλο που το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της πανδημίας έχει τελειώσει για να εξακολουθήσουμε να είμαστε όλοι ασφαλείς πρέπει όλοι να τηρούμε τα απαραίτητα μέτρα ασφαλείας. Ακολουθούν κάποιες χρήσιμες πληροφορίες για τον covid-19.

ΤΡΟΠΟΙ ΜΕΤΑΔΟΣΗΣ Από άνθρωπο σε άνθρωπο Εάν εισπνεύσουμε τα σταγονίδια που εκκρίνονται όταν βήχει ή φτερνίζεται κάποιος που έχει προσβληθεί από τον ιό. Εάν αγγίξουμε μολυσμένες επιφάνειες και στη συνέχεια αγγίξουμε το στόμα, τη μύτη ή τα μάτια μας. ΣΥΜΠΤΩΜΑΤΑ COVID 19 Στα κύρια συμπτώματα περιλαμβάνονται Μυαλγίες Πυρετός Καταβολή Βήχας Δυσκολία Φαρυγγαλγία στην αναπνοή Αρθραλγίες Οι περισσότεροι ασθενείς εμφανίζουν ήπια νόσο. Τα άτομα που ανήκουν σε ομάδες υψηλού κινδύνου (άτομα άνω των 70 ετων και όσοι πάσχουν από χρόνια νοσήματα) είναι πιθανότερο να εμφανίσουν σοβαρή νόσο. ΒΑΣΙΚΑ ΜΕΤΡΑ ΠΡΟΣΤΑΣΙΑΣ / ΑΠΟΦΥΓΗΣ ΜΕΤΑΔΟΣΗΣ

Υ γιεινή χεριών, χρήση αντισηπτικών και αποφυγή επαφής των χεριών με το πρόσωπο Πρέπει να πλένουμε συχνά και με σωστό τρόπο τα χέρια μας, πριν και αφού φορέσουμε τη μάσκα μας, αφού χρησιμοποιήσουμε την τουαλέτα, όταν ερχόμαστε σε επαφή με κάποιον άλλο, όταν τρώμε.

Χρησιμοποιηούμε αντισηπτικό διάλυμα (με τουλάχιστον 70% αλκοόλης) όταν δεν μπορούμε να πλύνουμε τα χέρια μας με σαπούνι και νερό.

Τήρηση κοινωνικών αποστάσεων Πρέπει να τηρούμε απόσταση τουλάχιστον 1.5μ σε εσωτερικούς ή εξωτερικούς χώρους. Με τον τρόπο αυτό μειώνεται η φυσική επαφή μεταξύ μολυσμένων ατόμων και οι πιθανότητες μετάδοσης.

Τήρηση μέτρων αναπνευστικής υγιεινής Σε περίπτωση βήχα ή φταρνίσματος, καλύπτουμε το στόμα και τη μύτη μας με το μανίκι ή τον αγκώνα μας ή κάποιο χαρτομάντηλο το οποίο πετάμε άμεσα και μετά πλένουμε καλά τα χέρια μας ή βάζουμε αντισητπικό.

Χρήση μέσων ατομικής προστασίας Μάσκα μίας χρήσης (χειρουργική ή τύπου FFP2 ή ΚΝ95) ή υφασμάτινη μάσκα πολλαπλών χρήσεων. Οι μάσκες πρέπει να καλύπτουν πολύ καλά τη μύτη, το στόμα και το πηγούνι χωρίς να αφήνουν κενά ανάμεσα στο ύφασμα και το πρόσωπο. Δεν πρέπει αγγίζουμε τη μάσκα όταν τη φοράμε. Όταν την αφαιρούμε πρέπει να την πιάνουμε από τα λάστιχα ή τα κορδόνια. Η μάσκα πρέπει να αφαιρείται και να απορρίπτεται όταν υγρανθεί. Εάν η μάσκα είναι πολλαπλών χρήσεων πλύνετε την το συντομότερο δυνατόν μετά από κάθε χρήση με κοινό απορρυπαντικό και σε θερμοκρασία 60ο.

Τηρούμε όλοι τα απαραίτητα μέτρα ασφαλείας για να είμαστε υγιείς.

ΤΙ ΘΑ ΚΑΝΩ ΕΑΝ ΕΜΦΑΝΙΣΩ ΣΥΜΠΤΩΜΑΤΑ ΣΥΜΒΑΤΑ ΜΕ COVID-19 'Η ΕΑΝ ΕΡΘΩ ΣΕ ΕΠΑΦΗ ΜΕ ΠΙΘΑΝΟ ΚΡΟΥΣΜΑ; Σε περίπτωση που έχετε εσείς η κάποιος από την παρέα σας παρόμοια κρούσματα πρέπει να επικοινωνήσετε άμεσα με τη reception του καταλύμματος σας ή να καλέσετε στα 1135 ή 210 5112 054!

Καλείται ο ιατρός με τον οποίο συνεργάζεται το τουριστικό κατάλυμα για αξιολόγηση του περιστατικού.

Αν ο ασθενής έχει επείγουσα ανάγκη νοσηλείας, παρουσιάζει σοβαρή κλινική εικόνα θα μεταφερθεί στην οικεία μονάδα υγείας, ως ύποπτο κρούσμα COVID-19. Ο υγειονομικός υπεύθυνος του ξενοδοχείου θα επικοινωνήσει με τον ΕΟΔΥ στα τηλέφωνα 210 5212 054 ή τον ειδικό τετραψήφιο αριθμό 1135 (όλο το 24ωρο), για δήλωση του ύποπτου κρούσματος και οδηγίες αντιμετώπισής του.

Αν ο ασθενής εμφανίζει ήπια κλινική εικόνα λαμβάνεται από τον ιατρό δείγμα για εργαστηριακή επιβεβαίωση COVID-19 και θα παραμείνει στο δωμάτιο του μέχρι να βγουν τα αποτελέσματα. ΑΝ: επιβεβαιωθεί ως κρούσμα COVID-19 μεταφέρεται στο ειδικό ξενοδοχείο καραντίνας και αργότερα σε υγειονομική μονάδα η οποία θα φιλοξενεί τους ασθενείς με COVID-19 αν χρήζουν νοσηλείας. ΑΝ ΔΕΝ: επιβεβαιωθεί ως κρούσμα COVID-19 αντιμετωπίζεται στο χώρο του ξενοδοχείου με τις οδηγίες του θεράποντος ιατρού.

Below there is some useful information and safety tips to make your stay in Athens an unforgettable -in-a-good-way- experience!

VIRUS CONTAGION From person-to-person The contagion of the virus happens mainly through the pulmonic system with droplets that are caused from cough, sneezing or even breathing out when people interact in a distance smaller than 1 m (4 feet). Also through face contact after touching contaminated surfaces.

COVID 19 SYMPTOMS The main symptoms of the virus are: Fever Tiredness Cough Muscle ache Difficulty in Sore throat breathing Most people get through it as a common flu.

BASIC PROTECTION MEASURES

Hand hygiene, use of hand

antiseptic, avoid face contact )BOET OFFE GSFRVFOU XBTIJOH CFGPSF BOE BGUFS wearing the mask, visiting restroom, before contacting with another person, touching face or eating.

Antiseptic must be used if hand washing can't be done.

Keep social distancing 4PDJBM EJTUBODJOH NVTU CF LFQU BU N GFFU either outdoors or indoors. Very important to be kept because in this way natural contact and contagion are interrupted.

Keep respiratory hygiene

measures In case of cough or sneeze cover nose and mouth with your sleeve or elbow or a paper tissue that you will get rid of soon and wash your hands very well if possible, or use antiseptic tissue right after.

Use means of individual

protection Mask for one-use (surgical or FFP2 or KN95) or fabric mask for many uses.

The mask must cover very well the nose, mouth and chin, without creating gaps between it and the face.

The mask should never be touched from the outside surface, its considered contaminated!

When taken off, it must be held from the ear strings.

If the mask is for many uses it has to be washed as soon as possible in 60 degrees Celsius (140 F).

We can all enjoy our summer vacations in a safe, up to date and healthy way.

IN CASE OF POSSIBLE COVID 19 CONTAGION In case you notice similar symptoms as referred above you need to communicate right away with the reception of your accommodation, or use the telephone numbers 1135 or +30 210 5112 054!

You will be assigned to the doctor that cooperates with your touristic accommodation.

If the patient is found with severe clinical symptoms and they need to get hospital treatment, they will be transferred to the DMPTFTU )FBMUI DFOUFS BT B QPTTJCMF $PWJE 19 contagion. The hygiene responsible of the accommodation has to call immediately the specific phone numbers 1135 or +30 210 5212 054 PG UIF /BUJPOBM 1VCMJD )FBMUI 0SHBOJ[BUJPO /1)0

If the patient is found with just some flu symptoms, they will get the COVID-19 test from UIF EPDUPS 1BUJFOU JT SFRVFTUFE UP SFNBJO JO their rooms until the results of the test are ready.

IF: There is a confirmed COVID-19 patient they are transferred to a specific quarantine hotel and right after to a health center where they will get treatment during their quarantine stay.

They can be accompanied with one person that will keep all the health measures referred very strictly.

IF NOT: The patient will remain in their accommodation and will receive doctor’s special treatment.

Most taxis in Athens are relatively new and in a very good condition. They are clean and not very expensive. They are UIF NPTU JOFYQFOTJWF UBYJT JO &VSPQF 5IF PîDJBM UBYJT BSF of yellow colour and every taxi driver must have his license displayed on the taxi.

You can take a taxi from a designated taxi stand or you can simply hail a taxi from the street. Taxi stands are available at many hotels and major destinations like the airport and the port. Don't try to hail a cab driving by at the airport-you have to use the stand with everyone else.

An empty taxi should have the light on the top of the car on (only applicable at night) and also the light on the top right corner, on the cars screen.

Make sure you stand at the side of the road when you want to stop a taxi and hold your hand out.

Odeon of Herodes Atticus

Ηeld annually from late May to mid-August, the Athens Epidaurus Festival is the foremost cultural institution in the country, catering for all tastes, offering both classical performances, such as ancient Greek drama, and cutting-edge, avant-garde productions. Odeon of Herodes Atticus Built below the majestic rock of the Acropolis in the 2nd century BC, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus is widely considered one of the most iconic theatres in the world. Since the inception of the Athens Festival in 1955, legendary artists have performed at the Odeon, including Maria Callas, Herbert von Karajan, Igor Stravinsky, Rudolf Nureyev, and Leonard Bernstein, to name but a few.

This summer, music lovers can look forward to spellbinding evenings featuring leading symphony orchestras, operas, and concerts with world-renowned contemporary solo artists and musical groups against the backdrop of the majestic Attic sky.

Peiraios 260 A typical example of 1970s industrial architecture, Peiraios 260 is an ideal venue for presenting the Festival’s avant-garde and alternative productions. Dance and theatre are central to the artistic activity at Peiraios 260, as rising and established Greek and international artists attract city residents and visitors who wish to spend their evenings in a space of strikingly industrial aesthetics, enjoying performances, drinks, and even parties at the vast former factory.

WAR MUSEUM ΠΟΛΕΜΙΚΟ ΜΟΥΣΕΙΟ

EN The War Museum presents the military history of the Greeks, from ancient times to date. It is the largest war museum in Greece and one of the largest in Southeastern Europe since 1975. It is located in one of the most central areas of Athens and receives tens of thousands of visitors each year. Its exceptional building follows a modernist architectural design.

Unique works of art are being exhibited in the Museum's various halls, such as numerous types of weaponry, military uniforms, photographs, and archival material, as well as dioramas projecting important historical events. In the exterior space of the museum, there is also an exhibition of war aircraft and artillery of various calibers. The War Museum's most prominent exhibits are included in the Peter Saroglou Collection, which is housed in a specially adapted hall and consists of original weapons and war accessories of various historical periods and civilizations.

The War Museum remains a dynamic space for active learning, as thousands of students visit it every year. They learn about important moments in Greek history through guided tours or experiential programs.

GR Το Πολεμικό Μουσείο προβάλλει την πολεμική ιστορία των Ελλήνων, από την αρχαιότητα έως τις ημέρες μας. Πρόκειται για το μεγαλύτερο πολεμικό μουσείο στην Ελλάδα και ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα στη Νοτιοανατολική Ευρώπη από το 1975. Βρίσκεται σε ένα από τα κεντρικότερα σημεία της Αθήνας και δέχεται δεκάδες χιλιάδες επισκέπτες κάθε χρόνο. Η κατασκευή του κτιρίου ακολούθησε πρότυπα αρχιτεκτονικής του μοντερνισμού. Στις αίθουσες του Μουσείου εκτίθενται μοναδικά έργα τέχνης, διάφοροι τύποι οπλισμού, στρατιωτικές στολές, πλήθος φωτογραφιών και αρχειακού υλικού, καθώς και διοράματα που απεικονίζουν σημαντικά ιστορικά γεγονότα. Στον εξωτερικό χώρο του εκτίθενται πολεμικά αεροσκάφη και πυροβόλα διαφόρων διαμετρημάτων. Τα κορυφαία Εκθέματα του Πολεμικού Μουσείου περιλαμβάνονται στη Συλλογή του Πέτρου Σαρόγλου, η οποία βρίσκεται σε ειδικά διαμορφωμένη αίθουσα και αποτελείται από πρωτότυπα όπλα και πολεμικά εξαρτήματα, διαφόρων ιστορικών περιόδων και πολιτισμών. Παράλληλα, το Μουσείο αποτελεί έναν δυναμικό χώρο ενεργητικής μάθησης, καθώς χιλιάδες μαθητές το επισκέπτονται κάθε χρόνο. Μέσα από ειδικές ξεναγήσεις ή βιωματικά προγράμματα ενημερώνονται για σημαντικές στιγμές της ελληνικής ιστορίας.

PNYX / ΠΝΥΚΑ EN The Pnyx hill is located between the hill of the Filopappos and the Mars hill, west of the Acropolis. It was the place where the Assembly of the Athenians held its meetings. It is an open area, there is no admission.

THE GREEK PARLIAMENT EN The neoclassical building which is the Parliament of the Greeks today was built between 1834 and 1838 as the palace of the first kings. The Monument of the Unknown Soldier, with the two guards, called ‘Evzones’, who are the presidential guards.

LYCABETTUS HILL EN The highest hill of Athens (277m) offers a fantastic view of Attica. The funicular takes you up to the top of the hill. The little chapel of St George and the theatre at the top of the hill, make it specially attractive. One can enjoy dinner or a drink at the restaurant at the top of the hill. [MAP 2 & 3, F3] PANATHINAIKON STADIUM EN This beautiful marble stadium was built in the 4th century BC. It has been restored twice and its capacity is 70,000 spectators.

In 1896 the first Modern Olympic Games were held here. [MAP 2&3, Ε6] HADRIAN’S ARCH EN An impressive Roman monument.

It was built in AD 131 of Pentelic marble in honour the Roman Emperor Adrian.

It marked the border between the old and the new city of Athens in the Roman period. [MAP 2,3&5, D6] PLAKA EN The neighbourhood of the Olympic gods. The Monmartre of old Athens. Narrow roads lead to numerous jewellery, souvenir, leather and fur shops, tavernas, restaurants, coffee shops & small picturesque squares.

[MAP 2&3, C5-6 & D5-6] MONASTIRAKI EN A crowded, busy part of the city where a constant big bazaar takes place. Some columns from the Hadrian’s library are in site, a mosque which has been turned into a library & a beautiful small church are some of the interesting monuments to be found here.

EN In Varvakios Market, the central fish, meat & vegetable market of Athens, a gastronomic movement appeared in early September 2021 called Hasapika Central Market.

The main characteristic of this movement is the use of excellent quality seasonal raw material as provided by the central market of Greece.

The traditional refrigerated showcases and counters of the butchers have been transformed into kitchens and places for preparing food and drink kiosks.

If you enter the central arcade of the Varvakios Market from Athinas Street (Aristogitonos Street), you will meet the first ceviche kiosk on your right hand side and while walking along the arcade you will also see the Japanese food kiosks, the lemon bar, the traditional Greek seafood recipes kiosk and finally, the one of fresh pasta.

If you would like to try this experience and walk the "street" of food and drink, do visit Aristogitonos Street inside the Varvakios Market, in the heart of the Athenian historical center. Since the beginning of June, a DJ will be accompanying your gastronomic journey with musical selections.

Τα παραδοσιακά ψυγεία-βιτρίνες των χασάπηδων μετατράπηκαν σε κουζίνες και σημεία παρασκευής πόσιμων και βρώσιμων εδεσμάτων (κιόσκια). Μπαίνοντας από την οδό Αθηνάς στην κεντρική στοά της Βαρβακείου, θα δεις στο δεξί σου χέρι το πρώτο κιόσκι του ceviche (σεβιτσερία) και στη συνέχεια βλέπεις τα κιόσκια της ιαπωνικής κουζίνας, του lemon bar, των παραδοσιακών ελληνικών συνταγών με θαλασσινά και τέλος των φρέσκων ζυμαρικών.
