Greeter Responsibilities 1. We are actively and immediately recruiting greeters for each of the Sunday morning services. Please contact Jimmy Davis at 830-456-2224; JWDavis78624@gmail.com or in person at any service. I would appreciate the names of potential greeters so that I may contact them personally. This is separate from the Lay Ministry Schedule and those who currently serve as Ushers or Chalice Servers should not sign up to be a greeter at the same service. These very important ministries have separate, but simultaneous, responsibilities. Greeters: - Greeters are not ushers and are not to fill in for ushers at the same service. - Greeters should be outgoing, friendly and willing to make the initial contact with visitors. This is the first contact with our fellowship of believers. Newcomers must be made to know that we truly want them to be here and are glad they came. Your best asset is a smile! - Greeters are the front line of our Everyone Belongs initiative. - Greeters should plan to be in place at the front door of the worship center at least fifteen minutes before services begin. Nametags will be provided. - Greeters should plan to remain after services for as long as necessary to help newcomers with any information they might request. - Greeters will be able to direct visitors to the Welcome Table for written materials, but, also, should be knowledgeable about basic ministries of the church. - Greeters will be able to direct visitors to needed services in the church plant (restrooms, nursery, coffee bar, etc.) - Greeter at the 7:45 service will set out the welcome sign. Greeter at the 11:00 service will put the welcome sign back in the Parish Hall at the conclusion of the 11:00 service. - Greeters will become familiar with members of the church. The Parish Directory can help with this. - Greeters will be observant to unspoken needs of visitors as well as stated needs and questions. - Successful Greeters will make sure no one visits our church and leaves without being acknowledged. 2. Greeters will initially be given written instructions. When a sufficient number of greeters have been established, we will have an instruction class.
