Throughout the morning, you will get to meet our apprentice and some of the team to learn about the valuable support service they provide to some of our younger residents. You’ll also get the chance to visit some of the places in and around South Gloucestershire that some of these young people access to help them live independently.

As part of the day you’ll get to meet our current apprentices and gain an insight as to what it is like to work as a Civil Engineer and in the Highways Maintenance team. * * *Easter Work Experience Placement Opportunity * * * Are you interested in a career in law and looking to gain an insight into how a national law firm works? We are offering a number of opportunities for keen and enthusiastic individuals to complete a work experience placement in our Bristol office. This is not paid employment, but an opportunity which offers first hand experience into the day-to-day workings of a law firm. This is a great opportunity for those who are currently studying at sixth form or college and are th interested in developing a career in law. The work experience placements will take place for a week between 8 April th 2019 – 18 April 2019. What does the work experience programme offer? You will spend time in several different departments within our Bristol office, shadowing staff in various roles within the business. Some of the typical tasks you may get to experience during the placement are: • Assisting with research into specific areas of law; • Observing legal claims processes to gain an insight into reviewing legal cases; • Helping with the preparation of court bundles; • Listening to calls to clients and solicitors to gain knowledge of legal terms; • Assisting with admin duties across our support departments. For those individuals who perform well during the work placement and receive positive feedback on completion of the programme, there may be the potential to complete a paid internship for six weeks during the summer. SGS Level 3 Production Arts Technical Theatre Showcase 21 March, 12.45-2.00pm SGS College, WISE Campus, New Road, Stoke Gifford, Bristol BS34 8LP. Aardman are looking for 16-25 year olds to help shape a brand new project. We want to hear about your experiences living in the 21st century, for us to better understand what it's like to be you! Aardman would like to run a series of small workshops and we believe we would need 90 minutes of your time for these sessions. There will be a small fee for your time. During the workshops, we will discuss the challenges faced by young people, although we will still aim to keep the sessions fun and positive! We hope to schedule these workshops in over the next few weeks. Please note sessions will be recorded via audio capture. We have a number of vacancies for Reserve Firefighters to be trained in basic defensive fire fighting. These staff will only be used to provide resilience support during any periods of unforeseen staff shortages. It is important to note that in most cases there is not an ongoing need to use Reserve Firefighters and therefore there will be significant ongoing periods of time when you will not be called upon to work. You will be required to attend an initial three day basic training programme (dates to be confirmed) and will receive ongoing refresher training every year. Training is paid at the standard hourly rate. Applicants must live within the Avon Fire & Rescue Service area or within a 25 mile radius of our boundary. No travel or accommodation expenses will be paid for work shifts. You must possess a driving licence and have access to your own transport. An LGV driving licence would be an advantage but is not essential.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
At hop, skip and jump we provide flexible and wrap around care for children and young adults with additional needs. Our Bristol centre has a large area to explore with a wide range of areas including a dark sensory room, a white sensory room, soft play / ball pit area, a music room, a games room and an art room. We also have a fully working kitchen and a massive outdoor space equipped with climbing frames, swings, slides for all ages and abilities and a lovely sensory area. We provide a range of different sessions throughout the year which include: Respite sessions: These sessions run every Saturday and during the school holidays (except Tuesday and Thursday mornings), for children and young adults with additional needs and challenging behaviours. Stay and play sessions: These sessions run every Saturday and during the school holidays (except Tuesday and Thursday mornings) where the service user can come with either their families or carers to use the centre independently. The service user is in full care of their family or carer. After school club sessions: These sessions are currently run on Wednesday and Friday evenings 3:30- 6:00, offering children and young adults with additional needs and challenging behaviour a safe environment to build social skills and engage in fun activities.
