This workshop will look at transferable skills. You can amass an arsenal of general skills, but the challenge is to make them ‘transferable’ by identifying which ones are of value to a employer and/or university. You will already have gained a wide range of skills through volunteering, your studies and paid employment. This workshop will help you to identify the skills you have already gained, how you can talk about them to an employer and how you can gain new skills!

Do you want to make a difference to society and communities? Then Housing Studies might be for you! This degree option covers a broad variety of topics including policy, urban design, finance, & supporting people. Our department has strong links with the housing sector & has an inbuilt placement module. This allows us to have high graduate employability rates - 100% of our students were in housing related jobs before graduation in 2015-16. My journey since St Brendan's (Tuesday 20th June) I graduated from St Brendan's in 2006 having studied history, German, and religious studies. I went on to do a degree in philosophy, a Master's in Political Theory and I have just completed my doctorate. For the last 18 months I have been a lecturer in Housing Studies at Cardiff Metropolitan University and am a board member of a variety of different housing related organisations.

Presentation on what a paramedic science degree involves and employment prospects.

This talk will dispel a few myths, introduce the wide range of inspirational creative pathways available and look at the number of progression routes into a career path that will see students reach their potential, flourish, bloom ... Thrive!

University Centre Weston - Creating the Perfect Mix http://www.ucw.ac.uk/ In this workshop Dr Niall Thomas discusses how to create a great sounding mix using simple techniques. Niall has extensive experience as a studio engineer and producer. The workshop also draws attention on the need to record high quality performances and is therefore ideal for performance and production students.

UWE Bristol Pre-HE Careers Team - Writing Successful Personal Statements http://www.uwe.ac.uk/ You will be given useful information to start writing and updating your personal statement. The sessions will be subject specific. We will look at what admissions tutors want to read in your statement and you will have the opportunity to critique a number of statements. Please bring your draft statement along to the session.

Working Options http://www.workingoptions.co.uk Working Options in Education is a UK-wide careers programme for 16-19 year olds developed by charity Monkey Business Foundation. Our aim is to engage, inspire and motivate sixth form students to realise their full potential and consider employment opportunities in the Consumer Goods industry (Food, Drink, Grocery Retail). We do this by running free motivation and information sessions at state sixth form colleges led by volunteer speakers from industry and through an online careers information hub. Business/Economics A'Level & BTEC level3 is a very relevant audience. 

Individual talks are followed by a group Q&A, closing with a networking session where students can approach speakers more informally.
