HISTORY STUDY THE PAST, DISCOVER YOUR FUTURE
Are you curious about why the world is the way it is? Were you enthralled by the heated debate around Edward Colston’s statue being toppled, putting Bristol briefly at the centre of world events? By studying one of our fascinating History courses, you will discover more about the world you live in today. Choose from courses which include the history of Britain, America, China, Russia and West Africa. Through our two modern courses, you will explore what the experience of warfare was like for Britons over a period of 150 years. In Year 1, choose between finding out why Russia and China have such different forms of government and the events that led to their rise as global superpowers; alternatively examine why liberal democracies like Britain and America, despite a shared history, took such different paths in the 20th century. It’s your choice and you determine the direction you want to study. Will it be Communism or Capitalism, revolution or democratic rule? If you wish to travel further back in time, our Early Modern course is the one for you. Find out about the impact the Early Tudors had on England, discover more about the witch craze that gripped Early Modern Europe and America, immerse yourself in English revolution and the Civil War and explore the rise and fall of West African Kingdoms.
