SOCIOLOGY Are you a critical thinker who’s interested in human behavior? Do you have a natural curiosity for the world around you? Does working to solve social issues facing society sound fulfilling? Society and human behavior make for fascinating study. Understanding how social contexts affect behavior and create patterns opens up a world of research possibilities. Our program furthers understanding of social inequalities at every level—from individuals and families to social networks and institutions. Employing qualitative and quantitative data, you acquire a sharpened ability to analyze our social world, laying the foundation for a gamut of graduate programs and careers. Our innovative teaching methods include experiential learning through community work and collaborative research.

YOU WILL LEARN TO: • Understand inequalities/divisions within our society — race, class, gender, nation — and their effects on people’s choices and opportunities • Gather qualitative and quantitative data and analysis • Apply critical thinking to your research • Cultivate self-awareness and community engagement
