YOU WILL LEARN TO:
• Achieve linguistic proficiency according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) standards
• Read comprehensively and write effectively and imaginatively
• Utilize critical and literary theory and core areas of language analysis
• Contextualize language and literature globally, confronting gender, race, ethnicity, ability, and socioeconomic differences from a foundation of social justice
• Pursue opportunities for career-readiness

Students in the Spanish program are strongly encouraged to study, travel, or live abroad. More than 50 semester- and year-long programs are available around the world, providing invaluable opportunities for students to immerse themselves in the language and culture of the country they visit.
Spanish Clubs and Organizations
The Spanish Club at St. Kate’s and Sigma Delta Pi, the National Spanish Honor Society, offer students further opportunities to interact in Spanish-speaking environments and hone their skills.
