What can I do with a degree in Marketing? For-profit and non-profit organizations need marketing professionals to help them determine which markets to serve, develop products and services to meet market needs, and communicate effectively with target audiences. Demand for marketing-related professionals is growing faster than many other careers, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). In 2018, according to the BLS, the median annual earnings for market research analysts was $63,120; public relations specialists was $60,000; and marketing managers was $132,620.
What will I study? Students majoring in marketing master key concepts such as determining which target markets organizations can best serve, and deciding upon appropriate products, services, and programs to serve these markets. Areas of study include: • • • • • •

You will also develop hands-on experience by participating in real-world projects with partnering organizations. Business portfolio In your portfolio, you will integrate the experience you bring with you as an adult with knowledge gained in the Marketing major. You’ll validate your learning and reflect on how you’ll connect it to your work. The portfolio is cumulative — complete most aspects during course work throughout the program.
Bachelor’s-to-Master’s Pathway While pursuing your bachelor’s degree, you may be eligible to take 1-2 courses from select St. Kate’s graduate programs, such as Business Administration (MBA) or Organizational Leadership (MAOL). Credits earned will count toward both your bachelor’s and a future master’s.
Class scheduling / time to completion The major courses meet online, with a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning formats. The Marketing and Digital Strategy major may be completed in 24 months. You may need longer to complete liberal arts and elective requirements.

Students seeking a B.A., B.S. or B.S.N. degree who have completed an A.A. degree from a regionally accredited institution or the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum can satisfy the LIFE core curriculum requirement by taking CORE 3990.
