Families with more than one camper should register each child separately. The grade level for camps is the grade a child enters in August 2018.

Camp St. Cecilia is a summer program designed to give

girls ages 4-17 an opportunity to have summer fun while learning. Campers experience St. Cecilia Academy’s academics, athletics, and fine arts programs while interacting with faculty, students, coaches, alumnae, and parents. The camps offer excellent instruction for girls by experienced instructors. Each girl attending Camp St. Cecilia will be exposed to skills in a variety of areas to further develop her curricular and extracurricular interests. BEFORE AND AFTER-CARE: Camp St. Cecilia is happy to

offer before and after-care from 7:30-8:45 a.m. and 4-5:30 p.m. Girls will enjoy a snack, play games, and participate in other activities. Cost is $30 per week for before or after-care, $50 for both. Sign up during camp registration.

DROP OFF/PICK UP: Drop off and pick up will be in Alumnae Hall at the front entrance of St. Cecilia. Please bring your daughter into Alumnae Hall the first day of camp to verify necessary information before camp begins. Check in will begin at 8:30 a.m. the first day of each camp week for the morning session and 12:30 p.m. for the afternoon session. After the first day, drop off will begin at 8:45 a.m. for morning sessions and 12:45 p.m. for afternoon sessions. Campers dropped off before 8:45 a.m. will be report to before-care at the $10 per day drop in rate. Campers not picked up by 4:15 p.m. will go to after-care at the $10 per day drop-in rate. ALLERGIES: Please inform Camp St. Cecilia of any food allergies. Baking and cooking camps are not allergy-free. Camp staff will provide allergy-free snacks to those who request them.

Extending Literature through Art: Grades PreK-2 $140 After reading popular children’s literature such as The Rainbow Fish and Pete the Cat, girls will create their own works of art that complement the books. There will be paint, glue, glitter, and so much more! The beautiful creations will be on display at the end of the week for family and friends to see. Joan Coode and Susie Hays have taught together for 17 years at Westminster School for Young Children and will teach this camp.

Come join the battle for the dessert crown at the Camp St. Cecilia Cupcake Wars! Each day campers will learn and bake different cupcake recipes that will culminate in a battle round at


the end of the week for family members to judge. SCA alumna Katie Morel '93 has been in the catering business for 15 years and loves to bake with her children. She will bring this passion as she leads this camp.

Wizarding World of SCA: Grades 2-6

Potter-themed camp. Girls will be assigned into houses, then work together on a variety of magical activities, including science magic, wand-making, STEAM challenges and much more. Forensics: The Art of Public Speaking: Grades 4-8 $140

This camp is a great way to learn the ins and outs of forensics and public speaking. Campers will explore the worlds of prose, poetry, and duet acting. This camp is designed to give girls a glimpse into the world of forensics and the skills that are a great preparation for any forensics team. SCA alumna Diane Meier ’91 teaches at Overbrook School and will coach this camp.

Do you love chocolate? Then this camp is for you! Come and explore the world of chocolate and enjoy making yummy, chocolatey treats to enjoy each day. Your family will love to eat your chocolate creations. SCA alumna Diane Meier ’91 teaches at Overbrook School and will teach this camp.

In this STEAM camp, girls will use their creativity to create a story, build characters, set, and film a stop animation minimovie using green screen technology. Past SCA mom and STEM magnet school teacher Christina Cathey will teach this camp.

This camp will be coached by SCA head basketball coach Donna Brown-Wynn, former point guard at Mississippi State before coaching there. She continued her coaching career at Belmont and most recently Tennessee State University. Coach Wynn brings tons of fun and energy to the game.

Come have fun exploring the use of mixed media in art! Campers will learn to create works of art in the style of Andy Warhol, Jim Dine, and Wayne Thiebaud. Girls will be introduced to a wide variety of artist materials. There will be a celebration of art in the SCA gallery on the final day of camp. Come explore the wonderful world of animals! If you love animals and nature, then this camp is for you! Girls will learn about different animals in the Nashville area and observe and pet a few, too. The camp will consist of trips to different animal attractions such as the zoo, animal rescues, and animal sanctuaries. Campers will also see animals on hikes and visits to nature centers. A camera or cell phone with a camera is encouraged. At the end of the week, girls will tell the story of her favorite animals with a video presentation for families. SCA physics teacher Ashley George will lead this camp adventure.

Join SCA alumnae Jada Edmondson ‘85 and Helen Gomez ’93 for a week of etiquette fun! Girls will be introduced to and practice manners necessary for little young ladies of today. The camp is complete with tea parties, dances, a princess day, arts and crafts, guest speakers, and much more.

Pack your American Girl Doll for a week of fun-filled American Girl adventure! This camp will explore the experiences of American girls from colonial times to the present through crafting, games, story time, and much more. Sara Strobel ’01, SCA history teacher and alumna, will teach this camp.

This camp offers an exciting and challenging week full of cheers, chants, motions and dances. There will be a performance for parents at the end of the week. This camp will be led by former UT cheerleader Katie Barksdale and current SCA students who cheer for MBA.

This camp boosts girls’ math skills to a new level through fun hands-on activities. The camp will spend time working with multiplication, division, word problems, and fractions. Girls will also work with logic and reasoning skills. There will be a lot of fun making games out of mathematical concepts, including an ice cream party at the end of the week. Past SCA parent and STEM magnet school teacher Christina Cathey will teach this camp.

Create robots from your own imagination and watch them come to life in this camp! The robots will spin, pick up things, make sounds, and more by programming a simple app on


the iPad. Girls only need to bring their imagination to the robotics playing field—no experience necessary. At the end of the week, girls will have their robots compete against other robots for best design and ability to complete various obstacles in the arena. Ashley George teaches physics and is the coach of the SCA robotics team and she will teach this camp.

Pinterest Camp Creativity: Grades 5-8

$170

From tie-dying to rocket launching, crafting and creating artwork to making summer eats and treats, this camp will provide fun-filled activities and Pinterest projects you’ve always wanted to try! We will combine arts, crafts, games, and projects to design, discover, and explore. This camp is unique in that it provides a little bit of everything. We’ll plan and enjoy a party and even relax with a spa day. SCA parent and St. Henry teacher Janie Sizemore will teach this camp.
