World War I Series
World War II Series
Many people believe that the 20th century began Jan.1, 1901. Historians will argue that the 20th century actually began June 28, 1914, with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo. This touched off a conflict we now call World War I which forever changed the political, economic and social landscape of Europe and the United States and had a profound impact on the rest of the world. Enroll in all three classes and save.
World War II was history’s most catastrophic military event, claiming more than 55 million lives and forever altering the world’s political and social landscape. This five-part series will examine the causes of the war, the reason for its outcomes and how it has shaped the present time. We will study the personalities who drove the conflict and examine not only the military operations of both the Pacific and European theaters, but also the effects of the war on people and institutions here and abroad. Enroll in all five classes and save.
