SET AMID 2,700 ACRES OF VARIED TERRAIN, the Saint John’s campus is remarkable in its natural beauty. It includes wetlands, several lakes, an oak savanna, a restored prairie and hiking trails that wind through an extensive pine and hardwood forest. The Warner Palaestra contains Sexton Arena, the Warner Palaestra Pool, a rock-climbing wall, the McGlynn Fitness Center and is connected to the Donald McNeely Spectrum. Sexton Arena seats 3,000 spectators when the bleachers are in place, but also offers three full basketball courts when the bleachers are retracted. The Donald McNeely Spectrum, or fieldhouse, features four full-sized basketball courts, a full indoor track and five tennis courts (three full, two single). Guild Hall (Old Gym), the original gymnasium built on campus in 1901, is still the site of Saint John’s Prep home basketball games. Clemens Stadium seats 7,500 spectators and boasts an artificial-grass surface (replaced in Summer 2012), lights and a full-sized track. A new artificial-grass baseball stadium opened in Spring 2013 adjacent to Haws Field. The project includes a future grandstand, bathrooms/concessions and a plaza.

HOME OF THE ST. CLOUD ROX, the Municipal Athletic Complex (MAC) is located on the northwestern side of St. Cloud and features two ice arenas. The Torrey Arena is the most used rink with seating available for 2,000. The Ritsche Arena, which is more commonly used as a practice rink, holds 400. Renovated in 2008, the MAC has locker rooms, dasher boards, restrooms, an office and meeting space, media section, concession stands, an additional 3,000+ square foot mezzanine and ample parking. These two rinks are used by high school hockey teams, the St. Cloud Figure Skating Club and the College of St. Benedict hockey team. The MAC also features two baseball fields, the Dick Putz and Joe Faber fields. Teams from area high schools, colleges, VFWs, Legions and amateur leagues use these two fields, totalling about 400 games per year. The MAC also hosts the St. Cloud Rox, a team from the collegiate “wooden bat Northwoods League. The Rox play over 35 games every summer.

MUST SEE & DO

IT’S ALL ABOUT Truly successful tournaments are just as much about what happens AFTER — and the St. Cloud area delivers with virtually unlimited activities and attractions.

AT TRACTIONS

T HE AT E R

Join the thousands who stroll the Munsinger and Clemens Gardens every summer to view nature’s richest colors in full bloom. Immerse yourself in the history and culture of the area at the Stearns History Museum or other area museums. Or, explore the scenic parks throughout the area including many along the Mighty Mississippi.

The faces of drama are alive and well in St. Cloud, where the curtain rises often on national touring acts as well as several local productions. St. Cloud’s landmark Paramount Theatre, Pioneer Place on Fifth and several community stages put the spotlight on masterfully produced comedy, drama, dance and more.

ART

DINING

Art lovers rejoice: St. Cloud’s thriving arts community boasts a variety of galleries for your viewing and shopping enjoyment, many within walking distance of our major event facilities.

For a quick bite between sessions or an opportunity to wind down from the day’s activities, St. Cloud offers a full menu of options. Here you’ll discover top national chains as well as our own special blend of unique, independently owned eateries. From sports bars and ethnic favorites to chef-prepared fine dining experiences, all feature service with a smile and guarantee you won’t go away hungry.

MU SIC

Music is part of Central Minnesota’s heart and soul. Home to an annual Midwest bluegrass festival as well as our own St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra, we also host internationally acclaimed Minnesota Orchestra several times a year. Nationally known names as well as regional acts routinely light up the stage at the exquisitely renovated Paramount Theatre and Pioneer Place on Fifth. From rock to classical, St. Cloud’s got a venue to please.

When you need a little relaxation or retail therapy after a long day, St. Cloud’s unique mix of chain and speciality shops are here to help. Found within walking distance or a short drive from event facilities, these shops and salon/spas offer an exceptional escape from a full day of activities.

THE EXPERIENCE In fact, visitors continue to comment on just how much there is to see and do here! There’s a unique St. Cloud experience just waiting for you and your group to discover.

N IG H TL I F E

BE AV ER ISL AND TRAIL

Head out for some of the best local and regional live entertainment. Jazz, rock, country or blues — it’s all here for you after the sun goes down

Named after the series of small islands dotting the Mississippi River just south of St. Cloud, the Beaver Island Trail offers miles of paved, riverfront trail ideal for running, walking, biking or blading

G O LF IN G

The Central Lakes area’s championship golf courses offer challenging play at all skill levels, with many featuring full amenities including full service bar/restaurant, banquet facilities and fully stocked pro shops. Or if disc golf is your game, the St. Cloud area has multiple courses offering a variety of landscape and hole challenges.

M ISSISSIPPI RIVER

Situated on the banks of the Mississippi, it’s only natural that St. Cloud is the ideal starting point for river recreation. Hike the trails. Enjoy the wildlife and scenic views. Fly fish from the granite piers in Sauk Rapids. Even kayak, paddle board or canoe your way down the river and explore like so many others before you. Bring your sense of adventure because our area outfitters are ready to help with everything else you’ll need.
