welcome

this season... Welcome to St Donats Arts Centre Summer is well and truly over, along with those late nights and alfresco dining, but don’t be despondent, St Donats Arts Centre has just the remedy to while away those wintery evenings and shake off those winter blues. Just a little taster of things to come as September kicks off with Wales’ “Siren Sisters”, crooning tunes from the 40’s that will definitely have you standing to attention; then we have the enigmatic jazz singer/songwriter Jacqui Dankworth performing a selection of songs from her new album “It Happens Quietly”. Fancy a jig or a polka then the Thingumijigs are just up your street, with traditional Celidh music and dancing and lots of frivolity. Guitarist Sean Taylor returns to the arts centre, but this time with his band. This exceptional musician went down a storm the last time he performed, so if you didn’t get the chance to experience his music and songs then make sure you book your tickets this time. It’s Christmas! As we welcome our annual and ever popular Crafts for Christmas Fayre on Sunday 25 November then Sherman Cymru’s Children’s Christmas show “The Snow Tiger” on Tuesday 4 December. Andy Cragg – Visual Artist

A designer for nearly 20 years, Sue Srinivas has developed a very unique style, employing a range of techniques and media to produce evocative mixed media landscapes and expressive portraits. Many landscapes are local scenes with vibrant colours bringing the scenes alive, something developed in reaction to the seemingly widespread belief that South Wales is a dull place, whilst really being full of beautiful areas and landmarks.

A Cowbridge artist working with colour, texture and abstract landscape. Paintings are influenced by the lines and slices of landscape in its abstract, conjuring recollections and moods of places past, present and invented.
