ACHIEVEMENTS - INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENTS

FRANKIE - SPORT

MISS WATKINS - SPORT

Frankie (Year 7) won three gold medals and one silver medal, as well as coming first in individual & team events at an international Gymnastics competition, hosted in Dubai.

Miss Watkins (Head of Netball) was selected to represent the United Kingdom in an inter-island Netball tournament, facing teams from across the world, including New Zealand, South Africa and St Lucia. After an unbeaten day they made it through to the final and were ultimately crowed 2017 Champions, after beating Jamaica.

SEBI - SPORT

ALICE - ART

Sebi (Year 1) won the U6 Rugby player of the year at the Old Alleynian’s Rugby Club.

Alice (Year 13) had her work featured at the Painter Stainer awards.

CYRUS AND TOBY - CHESS

UK JUNIOR MATHEMATICAL CHALLENGE - ACADEMIC

Cyrus (Year 4) and Toby (Year 3) qualified for the third round of the Delancey UK Schools’ Chess Challenge.

Alexandre (Year 6), Uma (Year 6) and Advait (Year 5) were all awarded Silver Certificates for their participation in the 2017 UK Junior Mathematical Challenge. Special congratulations to Alexandre for receiving a certificate for Best in Year.

MUSIC

Choral and Orchestral Concert

Year 4 and 6 Instrumental Concert

Fauré’s Requiem was performed in St Pancras Church by massed choirs, with solos from Elias (Year 13) Beth (Year 10) and Rachel (Year 11). Big Band opened the evening with panache and Elgar’s Enigma Variations were performed with particular aplomb by the Symphony Orchestra.

Pupils in Year 4 and 6 wowed their audience with confident and stylish performances.

Year 3 Moon Thieves Year 3 enjoyed performing their gentle and moving production of The Moon Thieves.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Bridging Generations

Summer Tea Party

The Social Club featured in the June edition of the Lewisham Homes Magazine, in an article about bridging generations.

7H organised a Summer Tea Party at the Jubilee Ground for the elderly residents of Fieldside Care Home and the Vineries. They served homemade cakes, prepared a summer quiz and organised a short concert for the guests, who had a lovely afternoon.

Bronze DofE Congratulations to Year 9 students who passed their Bronze Practice Expedition during Adventure Week.

Trinity 2017

Silver DofE Congratulations to all the students who passed the expedition element of their Silver Award.

Gold DofE Congratulations to the 7 senior students who collected Gold Certificates at Buckingham Palace.

Year 9 Weekend

CCF Last Parade

Year 9 cadets experienced their first overnight exercise with the CCF and were particularly excited to fire the cadet rifle for the very first time.

Cadets celebrated their last CCF parade of the year with a number of inflatable challenges.

James - Year 7 James (Year 7) received the Spirit of Cricket award from the MCC Captain.

RRD Bodenham Award

Josh – Year 9

Kent Hockey Academy 2017

Ellie and Leon (Year 13) were awarded the inaugural RRD Bodenham award at the Sports Awards evening.

Josh (Year 9) and other St Dunstan’s athletes performed admirably at the London Schools Athletics finals.

Amelie (Year 7), Margot (Year 7), Jemima (Year 8), Anya (Year 9), Holly (Year 10), Millie (Year 10) have been selected for the Kent Hockey Academy.

Year 3 Horniman Museum

KS1 Riverhill Garden

Deke – Year 10 Deke (Year 10) has been successfully selected for the 2017 Kent Academy Netball Squad.

TRIPS

Year 5 Womens’ Cup Final Year 5 enjoyed the womens’ FA Cup Final at Wembley.

Year 3 made magical music at the Horniman Museum.

Year 7 Adventure Week

Year 8 Adventure Week

Year 7 embarked on a thrilling adventure to Grosvenor Hall, Ashford where they were immersed in all manner of challenges.

Year 8 followed a varied programme of activities from water sports, rock climbing, shooting, navigation, rope work and some Corps of Drums Training at St Martin’s Plain MOD Camp in Folkestone.

Year 11 Thorpe Park Year 11 celebrated the end of their GCSEs with a trip to Thorpe Park.

Trinity 2017

China 28 intrepid explorers set off on a fantastic two-week cultural adventure to The People’s Republic of China.

Key Stage 1 enjoyed the scavenger hunt at the River Hill Himalayan Gardens.

5G Tate Modern 5G explored culture and powerful art at the Tate Modern.

Year 9 Adventure Week

Year 10 Adventure Week

Year 9 completed the training and practice expedition of the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Year 10 involved themselves in a full programme of climbing, rope-work, caving, problemsolving, archery and zip-wire challenge in Northern Wales.

Senior Sport Tour to SA The Senior Sport tour of South Africa was a resounding success.

Year 4 & 5 Victoria and Albert Museum Year 4 and 5 enjoyed the art, fashion and design on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

DT and Art Exhibition

Fantastic pieces from our GCSE and A Level students were showcased at the Design, Technology and Art Exhibition.

CCF Contingent Dinner The Contingent warmly welcomed Colonel Wallace as Guest of Honour, marking his final year as Bursar at St Dunstan’s.

Trinity 2017

The St Dunstan’s sporting community gathered for the inaugural Sports Awards Dinner, held in the Bromley Court Hotel.

The new Prefect Team enjoyed a full day of leadership training.

Commemoration Day 2017

The founders and benefactors of the College were remembered in an act of thanksgiving at the Commemoration Day service, held in Southwark Cathedral.

Beating the Bounds

Nine Year 7 students travelled to the City of London to take part in the annual ceremony of ‘Beating the Bounds’ followed by the Ascension Day service at All Hallows by the Tower.
