ST DUNSTAN’S
FESTIVAL 2022
WELCOME W
elcome to the St Dunstan’s College Festival 2022, an annual explosion of activity that celebrates and elevates all that we are at the College. We have 11 days and evenings packed with performances, exhibitions, workshops, lectures and competitions; there truly is something for everyone. To help you navigate your way through over 160 events we have categorised everything so you know if you are watching a performance, competing, celebrating, discovering something new or giving back to our wider community. We are particularly excited to be working much more closely with other local schools this year, bringing students together to sing and perform as well as take part in competitions and our brand-new charity convention which aims to develop a heart for local charities and align that with practical ideas for fundraising and support. This Events Guide will take you through the Festival day by day and point you in the right direction to book tickets or sign up for different activities. Many of our events are open to the public as
we seek to deepen the connection with have with the local community. This is at the very heart of the Festival and an area we plan to grow over the coming years. Our theme this year is Championing Compassionate Community, and many of our activities and performances focus on reaching out, demonstrating kindness and supporting each other. We warmly invite you to be part of this exciting event by joining us for one or more of the diverse activities and performances listed on the following pages. I am most grateful, as ever, to all of the staff at the College and especially the Festival Team who have worked tirelessly to ensure this year is the biggest and brightest festival yet. Thank you also to our sponsors KFH and The Dunstonian Association for their financial support. I look forward to meeting you over the course of the Festival.

The Dunstonian Association
T
he Dunstonian Association is delighted to be associated with this year’s Festival, celebrating across the performing arts our talented students and their creativity.
Focussed this year on compassion, the topic could not be more timely given ongoing conflict and the challenges we face in society. I remember at the start of the COVID, when we couldn’t do enough to support and help our neighbours and those in our community. What short memories we seem to have and so thank you for your reminder to help and support others. We wish all involved the very best of luck and thank them for all their hard work and endeavour leading up to the programme of events and their celebration of the arts. Best wishes

We currently support over 50 bursary students throughout the College but every year we have to turn away at least 10 students.
If we raise £3m over the next five years, we will have been able to double the number of children from our local area to benefit from education that would otherwise have been entirely inaccessible to them. It takes £20,000 to support a full bursary student in the senior school for a year. In this context, large gifts will be transformational but a collective effort can be just as meaningful.
