An energy audit gave La Torretta a Home Energy Rating Score (HERS) of 20, which means it consumes a remarkable 80% less than a house of similar size and location. Further assisting energy conservation efforts put forth by the owners are the purchase of 57 solar panels at a nearby solar farm. The energy generated by these panels are credited to the home’s monthly electric bill. This credit has offset nearly half of the electric costs.
