Get Transfer Credit
• Equivalent courses (listed below) can be taken at another college or university to meet our 40 credit hours of general education requirements.
• St. Edward’s accepts up to 66 hours of junior college credit and a C- or better in all college-level coursework.
• 30 of the last 50 hours of your degree and at least half of the coursework required for your major must be taken at St. Edward’s.
• Once you are accepted, we will provide you with your official transfer of credit evaluation for your declared major.
• Texas Core Complete: Students certified as Texas core complete by a state of Texas public institution of higher education (before enrolling at St. Edward’s) are not required to take additional general education courses outside those embedded within the student’s declared major.
3 Quantitative Reasoning College-Level Mathematics or Statistics
3 Oral Communication Speech (Fundamentals/Principles of Public Speaking)
3–6 Modern Language Complete one course of second semester or above
3 Exploring Artistic Works May include any British Literature, American Literature, Mexican-American Literature, World Literature, History of Theater, Art History or other Literature/Theater/Arts Analysis courses
3 Creativity and Making Creative Writing, Performing Arts (such as Drawing, Photography, Pottery) or Design
3 Diverse American Perspectives Any U.S. History course or a History course with a minorities topic, U.S. or State Government, Intro to Sociology, Social Problems or SOCI course in American Minorities
3 Global Perspectives Courses that include analysis of diverse global perspectives and moral and ethical analysis, such as World Civilization, Western Civilization II or World/Regional Geography
3 Ethics Ethics course with a PHIL course number
3 Studies in Theology and Religion Any Religious Studies (RELS) course or World Religions if transferring from a community college
4 Natural Sciences Choose any 4-hour course (lecture and lab) in Natural Science, such as Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geography (physical only), Geology, Oceanography or Physics
