Lab. Sintesi Finale P5 Light and Interaction 2018 N. Besana, S. de Bari, M. Rocchitelli, A.Tremolada Caulis was born into the Synthesis Laboratory (final design course of the “Thebachelor).goal of the laboratory is to design a system of products for public areas in which the light create and innovative user experience.” 1. USER FURNITURESANALYSISANALYSIS Public areas are populated by a few objects: benches and picnic tables for the outside, without electricity and often uncomfortable for reading a book. these are not designed to give the possibility to work. Where do we study/work? Do you prefer stay alone or with other people? coworking20%library10%park20% 60%40% office/home50% Shopping centers and parks are the places where users gather to go from a few minutes to several hours. To study, work, entertain with leisure activities. The trend of “together alone” emerges: people find themselves in more or less crowded places to undertake individual activities. alonewithsomeone else 7

Product Development It is a family of products for furnishing public areas. They have been designed to be comfortable with a flexible shape: it allows multiple configurations and arrangements for the architect who designs the area Itintended.hasbeen designed with intelligent light system for energy saving (brightness sensor). Interaction Caulis has been designed to allow a momento of work, in serenity, even for long periods of time. DAYTIME 12
NIGHTTIME The path marker LED is dimmable, it is designed to emit two different light intensities: a low one for service light and a high one for human presence. 13
STRUCTURE 14
An Arduino system, three PIR proximity sensors, a twilight sensor and a switch for the current constitute the intelligence of the prototype. It has a steel structure (created by a blacksmith) and wooden plans.

Lab. Design studio II redesign 2020 P. Contini, S. de Bari, S. Minini, S. Purushotaman Pillai Desktop air purifier with its own recognizable aesthetic that communicates cleanliness and purity. The product will create a healthy environment at home and will not need a periodical purchase of filters. It employs wet scrubbing, UV light and TiO2 for air purification and sterilization. 2. AIR FLOW cm30 Ø 12 cm capillary effect one way valve Uv light This is the first concept developed. An in-depth analysis on the best air purification method based on the possibility of not having disposable filters but water. This analysis finally led us to the wet scrubbing effect (industrial method). 19

Then it crosses the upper base (membrane filter) entering the outer tank where the finest particles will remain trapped due to the effect of the wet scrubbing (implemented by the atomizer). 21

Concorso SM’Art “La Libreria” 2018/2019 S. de Bari, A. Tremolada. The Mirai project born from the brief of the “La Libreria” competition, of which it won the first award as best project. “The project of a” bookcase “of any type and use, intended for home furnishings, using only materials produced by SM’art: melamine panels and HPL laminates. The projects must be carried out exclusively by interlocking, without the use of parts fixing tools”. 3. Modular bookcase mirai Joint Door Modul 300*515*250 mm Bookcase parts dovetail joint 24
PATTERNS:INFINITE Mirai is a hexagonal modular bookcase. The shape comes from the research variable and customizable model. It is consistent with the volumes of a library and it reflects the trend of home personalization. 25

Palette colors NCS color system design.
This palette works on the color contrast. The mexture give to the bookcase an original and sophisticated character. The second palette is based on neutral shades in harmony of color. It is designed to be adaptable in different modern Palettespaces. with two new shades* not present in the company catalog, to be combined with the PAMPAS wood texture. These colors recall a fresh spirit, actual trends in the world of interior design. NEUTRAL MOOD VIVID
