Contents St. Andrew the Apostle School

This project was completed at Argus Architecture Engineering LLC. The location of the project is New Orleans, LA. Its main focus was remodeling certain locations of the school to refer back to the elegance of the French Quarter.

Clifton Public Library

This project was completed in my second year at University of Cincinnati. The location is an empty lot in a local Cincinnati neighborhood. The main focus was to keep the walk through but also allow people an insight of what is occurring inside the building.

Analysis of the Savill Building

This project was completed in my first year at University of Cincinnati. Its main focus was analysis a preexisting building through research and drawings.

Ice Sculpture Pavilion

This project was completed in my second year at University of Cincinnati. The design used limited resources but the elevation of the entrance related to the location of the ice sculpture allowed viewers to experience the sculpture from many angles.

Scioto 46 -Work in Progress

This project is currently being completed in my third year at University of Cincinnati. This project is still being developed and is looking at a modular system that can be created for the housing portion of the program that will allow the best cross ventilation, sunlight, and views.

St. Andrew the Apostle School New Orleans, LA This work was done at Argus Architecture and Engineering LLC. The client wanted to give tribute to the traditional New Orleans Architecture. This project was a sampling of what will be done throughout the entire school. By having the cast iron look similar to the French Quarter in the pavilion to the sophisticated look of the wood panels and crown modeling for the interior. I helped design the custom desk and cabinet that went along with the interior plus completed a variety of work which consisted of plans, elevations, wall sections, and schematic renders using Revit, AutoCAD, and Photoshop. Through the research of New Orleans Architecture to custom cast iron and wood working to help complete this project.

Clifton Public Library Cincinnati, OH This was a school project where we had to redesign a local library in a open plot of land not to far from UC campus. The plot of land was a cut through for the locals to get from the shops of Ludlow to the homes in the neighborhood behind. So by creating a courtyard pass through it will engage the pedestrians with the building even if they don’t enter the library. The bridging on the second floor is related back to the bridging in Cincinnati plus gave a easy way for people to cross over the courtyard on the second floor without blocking all of the sunlight for the garden. The Programs used were Revit, Photoshop, and Illustrator

The bridging between the two mass is evident in the floor plans. The render is a view from the main reading room which is the highest location to view the tree and internal courtyard. The site plan shows that the library will be located between two buildings but across from a park.

Analysis of the Savill Building Windsor, England This was an analysis of the Savill Building through site plan, elevations, section, and material connection studies. This project consisted of hand drawing, drafting, hand rendering, and digital rendering. Two brochures were also created that explained the undulating wood roof structure. The respect of the large gardens surrounding the building and how the building related with the nature. The undulating roof was created from the timber of the local trees from the surrounding gardens. This analysis allowed me to learn how to understand a building more than just visually but in multiple drawing forms.

All line work for the elevations, section, and floor plan were down by hand. The undulating roof can be clearly seen in the two elevations and the structure can be seen by the section. The space keeps the true nature of the location with the organic shape and the landscape surrounding the site. Four hundred larch trees were used to created the three undulating dome structure. The roof structure stays uncovered to expose the natural larch wood beams.

Ice Sculpture Pavilion Undetermined This was a 10 day project where we were assigned to design a pavilion that was constructed out of 4’ x 8’ x 8’ lumber. Also the entire base had to be constructed out of concrete. The point of the pavilion was to display an ice sculpture. My design was based on creating multiple views of the ice while it melted. Also the two separate staircases going down represent the decay of the sculpture while it transforms from ice to water.

Scioto 46 - Work in Progress Cincinnati, OH Scioto 46 is a studio project where we were asked to look at an empty site which is currently under construction for the new metro center for Cincinnati. Our program is to design a center for artist and sculptures to come, live, and show their work in the gallery. The project calls for housing for the artist and sculptures but also for college students. So looking at a modular system that would create cross ventilation, optimal sunlight and views, and be combined in a systematic pattern. The render to the right is a diagrammatic understanding of how the modular unit connects. The following pages consists of diagrams of circulation, views, and connections of the modular unit.
