scope of learning opportunities for our students. Through our 2015-2020 strategic plan, Rising Above in Silicon Valley!, the Board of Trustees set a goal to create a bridge between the private sector and the classroom to become a direct link to support student success in graduation and beyond. The District and the Board are committed to building long-range partnerships throughout the community. We build these partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, community organizations, social service agencies, local governments, and families to provide more opportunities for students to succeed in school and prepare for life after school. By getting local organizations involved in education, we can improve student performance, provide real-life experiences, and prepare the student for the world of work.

US2020’s mission is to change the trajectory of STEM education in America by dramatically scaling the number of STEM professionals engaged in high-quality STEM mentoring with youth. We are specifically focused on programming that supports underserved and underrepresented students. US2020 launched at the 2013 White House Science Fair and is now building a working community of committed companies, organizations, schools, government agencies, and cities. This community is leading the way in building a quality-driven STEM Mentoring Movement. AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members bring their passion and perseverance where the need is greatest: to organizations that help eradicate poverty. The most pressing challenges we face as a nation require the most courageous and creative people to address them. An AmeriCorps VISTA member serves as a catalyst for change, living and working alongside community members to advance local solutions.
Believing a well-educated population is essential to sustaining and enhancing a democratic society, Foothill College offers programs and services that empower students to achieve their goals as members of the workforce, as future students, and as global citizens. We work to obtain equity in achievement of student outcomes for all California student populations, and are guided by our core values of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, transparency, forgiveness, and sustainability. Foothill College offers associate degrees and certificates in multiple disciplines, and a baccalaureate degree in dental hygiene. https://us2020.org/front www.nationalservice.gov/programs/americorps/americorpsvista foothill.edu/
