WEST CHELSEA NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY
West Chelsea NYPL was designed for a unique lot that is bisected by the Highline in the West Chelsea neighborhood of New York City. The library emphasizes opportunities for people to learn from one another through visibility and interaction by putting education on display. The floors - some of which extend toward and recede from the Highline at different angles and depths, and others that are dropped as mezzanines for the main stacks create opportunities for chance encounters between library visitors. The glass facade allows those walking on the street or on the Highline to see learning in action, while the grand staircase and bridge from the Highline provide convenient access points to the library.

Hanson Place is a mixed-use, mixed-income building designed for the community served by the historic Hanson Place SDA Church in Brooklyn, NY. The client was seeking a 100-unit residential building on the upper floors, with the cellar and ground floors to be used for community services, such as rehearsal spaces for its choir, meeting rooms, and a medical office. The form and facade materials were informed by the surrounding brick and brownstone buildings; the drastic height shift between the 3-story residences to its left, and the 8-story museum and residential building to its right; the other surrounding mid- to high-rise buildings on the block; and solar patterns, as this is an east-facing building.

CASA DEL MUNDO
Casa del Mundo is a mixeduse affordable housing building in The Bronx, NY. Completed in 2018, this former brownfield site was transformed to provide this South Bronx community with ground floor retail, underground parking, and 11 floors of affordable 0- to 3-bedroom apartments. The design also incorporated an elevated patio at the rear of the building for the residents. As Assistant Project Manager, I gained invaluable experience with documenting and managing a project from beginning to end. The facade, designed by the lead architect, presented me with the unique opportunity to determine the best way to communicate the desired brick pattern to the contractors via the construction drawings.

Ponte Residences is a mixed-use, market rate multifamily building in the historic neighborhood of Tribeca, NYC. The facade design draws from the architectural style of the neighborhood, which was historically industrial, with large arched windows, dark metal accents, brick, and stone. The interior, made up of 41 apartments, a doubleheight restaurant, a gym, and a shared laundry room, is outfitted with both industrial and modern elements, displaying the client’s vision for the project. Residents also have access to a community room, shared roof terrace, on-site parking, bicycle storage, and a number of private terraces in select units. 11 //CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION//

STONE SWATCH ONE ROOM PROJECT - DEN DESIGN
These two interior design projects, which were space planning and hand rendering exercises, allowed me to explore the patterns, tone, textures, and scale of different materials, and how they can enhance one another when used together. This, in turn, has influenced my preferences for interior material specifications. 13 //INTERIOR DESIGN//

COMMUNITY COMFORTS TEA ROOM & BOOKSHOP
Community Comforts Tea Room & Bookshop is an interior design project that draws inspiration from a principle of the Dada Movement, which states that the value of art doesn’t lay in the work produced, but in the process of collaborating with others to create new visions of the world. Artists in this movement often created pieces with elements that weren’t commonly seen together. The design for this space is intended to bring people from all walks of life together to learn from one another. The space is centered on the bookshop, with various types of seating for collaboration and solo work on either side. Aesthetically, the space contains elements that can be interpreted as contrasting but complementary, such as modern and industrial elements, warm wood and smooth stone, lush plants and metals, and daylight against darker materials.
