2011 – 2012 CONSUMER Before contemplating what the future of fashion holds for an upcoming season, it is both necessary and essential to analyze previous trends and the behavior of consumers during that time. The past two years are characterized by consumers who predominantly feel a sense of triumph over adversity. No matter the struggle, this consumer is optimistic with a renewed sense of energy for a positive future. Although 2011 – 2012 saw difficulties as the result of an economic crisis, people are beginning to lighten up, explore new ideas, and embrace the excitement of favorable change. People are living with a new desire for beauty and style, challenging themselves to define their own personal aesthetic.

Color blocking allowed consumers to mix and match color spontaneously while maintaining a sophisticated knowledge of the relationship between colors.

THIS IS OUR REALITY Reality. A word that is capable of being defined literally, but how do we capture the true essense of a word so powerful? The answer is contained within the first sentence itself. Reality means we are capable of being. We experience the tangible and intangible world through the environment, the physical elements themselves, culture, our thoughts, desires, and who we choose to be as individuals. The year 2013 is about defining our own reality. We serve to diversify uniformity, to blend cultures, styles, and icons, to engineer the mystical, to revolutionise the ordinary into something radical, and to celebrate the elements of our physical world. We exist, and the whole world should know. This is our reality and its time to live it.

DRIVERS As humans we have an innate ability to rebel. To take something ordinary and make it unique while maintaining a bit of its originality. This kind of inspiration connects us not only to ourselves, but to the earth and those around us, enabling us to go boldly where no one has gone before. It allows us to enhance our natural environment into something radical.
