Poster Design
Seminar poster -Poetic, Aesthetics & Art Rationale of Design: Radiate shape and light through the ancient style umbrella presents art and aesthetics. And the shadow of the Chinese imperial palace points out the topic of Chinese culture.
Seminar Poster – New View of the Tang Rationale of Design: Dunhuang plays a significant role on Tang Dynasty. Mural paintings of gods are the remarkable feature of Dunhuang culture. The god look into the inside part of the poster, and just look at the word of “new view”.
Poster of Global Sinology Forum Rationale of Design: The forum invited scholars from Munich, Kyoto and London to discuss Sinology. So I combined characteristics in those cities and used the shadow of the building cleverly to create enough space to put on detail information.

Seminar Poster-How to appreciate poems?
Seminar Poster-Promoting Foreign Goods
Rationale of Design: Calligraphy is a very crucial and art in ancient society. It is also the way to write down the poet’s poem. Corp picture in circle shape can make the whole picture become moderate. Yellow-white is a good choice to balance the paper color behind calligraphy and black title.
Rationale of Design: The old painting in the circle reflects the trading in Shanghai in early 19th century. The light color of calligraphy still appears the main topic is related to Chinese culture. The color of title changes into white to be conspicuous.

Seminar PosterForeign scholars read Chinese classical novels. Rationale of Design: I used an engraving illustration on ancient Chinese novels as a metaphor of the way foreigners read Chinese novels.. The picture is that men are looking at the girl behind the curtain.
Poster Design
Poster of Global Sinology Forum Rationale of Design: The background of traditional Chinese ink painting presents the topic of the forum. The forum invited many scholars from the UK, Japan and Taiwan. So I used the landmark in those countries to build up the international impression.
Poster of Taiwan and China Joint SeminarComparative Literature and Material Culture
Poster of Taiwan and China Joint SeminarSinology and Comparative Literature
Rationale of Design: With the light blue background, the streamline shape perfectly combines with the picture of a river city in China. The river is the symbolism of communication between scholars from Taiwan and China.
Rationale of Design: The streamline shape on the left looks like a part of a vase and contains an ancient Chinese painting. In the painting, there are several people invited to talk and play together. The picture is just like a mirror of the forum.

Design Analysis Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (3rd generation)
13
Old Design
The Home icon is not related to the main purpose of Kindle —reading and buying books.
When tapping the Search icon, the result page will be automatically redirected to Store page.
Users can tap the other function icons directly
The Brightness icon as a bulb is also easy to be confounded with the concept of new ideas, using tips or energy saving mode
The length of Menu is too long, and the Menu cannot conclude every extension function into single page.
15
New Design
The Bookshelf icon can increase the pleasure to use Kindle as users’ bookshelf.
I rearrange the order of icons and emphasize on the main functions of Kindle—reading and buying books
I change the Brightness icon to this to fit the using habit of computer and notebook
Design Analysis Amazon Kindle
Because Vocabulary Builder is another important function of Kindle, I design a Dictionary icon to represent for it. The new icon is a simple image of a dictionary and inherits from the Kindle’s concept of the dictionary as “Aa”. I put the Setting function onto the Toolbar as new icons. Because the Settings functions include Wi-Fi function, users always need to switch it on or off. I use a gear to represent the function of Settings.
The Menu becomes more concise. And the new Menu can can conclude every extension function into single page without scrollbar.

Introduction What is vTaiwan? The mission of the on-line platform is to enhance the communication between the government and citizens by sharing stakeholders’ opinions and disputations related to the new proposed laws. After the on-line discussions closure, vTaiwan will host physical meetings for governors and citizens with live stream. For example, the legalization issues of Uber and Airbnb on vTaiwan aroused widespread public concern. The live stream of Uber legalization meeting attracted more than 1,800 viewers in Taiwan.
What did I do for vTaiwan? The website design was inferior, and there were only hundreds visitors per week. I joined the operation team to improve the throughput of the website,; and then I did a focus group interview with lead users, rearrange the whole browsing flow and advised using icons to distinguish different topics. After improving, website visitors increased more than 20%. 17
It took 1 hour to read all instructions before starting to reply the topics.

Finally, you will find “Reply” button and join on-line discussions.
And then read the descriptions and suggestions to express your opinions.
Repeatedly, read the governments’ statements according to the topic.
Again, read the descriptions of current proposed laws.
Once again, read the topics of current discussions

There are icons to distinguish different topics, so you can join the issues discussions that you interested in from the Homepage.
