Pregnant cows are considered breeders without further guarantee. All open females are guaranteed to breed by natural service. In case an adjustment is required, it will be made with a replacement animal of equal value to the animal in question or credit on the purchase of another animal. No adjustments will be made after nine months from sale day on any animals.

health - All cattle will be sold in compliance with the health laws of the State of South Dakota. Health papers will be provided. All cattle have been tested and are free from any known genetic defects.

insurance - We strongly recommend purchasing mortality insurance which will be available sale day at the clerk’s desk.

trucking - Reliable truckers will be available sale day. We will be happy to assist with trucking arrangements for delivery of your purchases.

transfers - Registration certificates will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense. Each buyer must be sure to give the clerk the proper name and address for making transfers.

We would like to welcome you to the Delaney/Atkins Genetic Opportunity Sale being held at Atkins Herefords new home west of Tea SD. We are excited to welcome you back to our first live auction of our female genetics to be held since 2016.

Over the past number of years we have offered you a sampling of our best heifer calves via a fall online sale. This spring we were blessed with an abundance of heifer calves in our ET program. Many of these heifers are by some of our newest sires including Land Grant, Final Print, Lincoln, Benton and more. As we looked at the depth of quality of the calves and young cows and the fresh new genetics in our programs, we decided it was time to dig deep and have this sale. Not only do we feel the phenotypic quality is our best ever, but the numbers backing up these cattle are the best we have ever offered. Whether you are looking for a proven donor, cows, breds or heifer calves, there are cattle in this offering that can work for the most discriminating breeder.

As a special feature we have decided to offer full possession of Entice. Entice has been a big part of our program the past few years just as he has with our partners. He has produced high income generating cattle that have proven themselves in the pasture and the show ring. He is ready to go to work in your pasture!

Combined, the Delaney/Atkins families have been breeding Hereford seedstock for almost 150 years and we have been working together for over 30 years. The kind of female that doesn’t come along everyday. We named this the Genetic Opportunity Sale and there may be no greater genetic opportunity in the breed than 125L.

She has the highest EPD for WW, YW and M&G of ANY animal in the breed born in 2023. Go to MyHerd and and she shows up in the 0 percentile for those traits! In addition she is in the top 1% of the breed for SCF, Milk, CW and REA, and in the top 1% of the breed for $BMI, $BII and $CHB. Looking at the data 30L is one of two animals in the Hereford breed born in 2023 that has her combination of CE, WW, SCF, UDDR, TEAT, MARB, BMI and CHB. Add in her phenotypic quality and she sets herself apart from the rest. If you’re serious about advancing the Hereford breed you need to take a long look at 30L.
