The Oklahoma Shorthorn Association is excited to invite you to our 2nd annual Oklahoma Spring Selection Sale in Fairview, OK. The goal is to have a quality offering of cattle, provide support to the membership, create an atmosphere with good comradery, and provide an outlet for Shorthorn breeders to sell cattle. We are grateful for the support of the 14 consignors and those of you that will join us on sale day.
All of the consignors in the Oklahoma Spring Selection are Oklahoma Shorthorn members and have spent the last year making decisions on their breeding programs that they feel will continue to improve the shorthorn breed. We are all very excited to be offering several of those choices in this year’s sale. You will find that great consideration was taken when choosing the sale lots. The goal is to offer elite cattle that will be productive and functional. You will find that there are multiple options offered and we hope that you find prospects to compliment your breeding programs. Animals purchased in last years sale saw great success winning local, state, and National shows, rest assured this years set of cattle is poised those same opportunities.
Please reach out to any one of the consignors about the offerings. Anyone that would like the chance to visit with consignors about the cattle and or simply just view the cattle prior to the sale may certainly do so beginning Friday and just prior to the sale on Saturday. Individual animal videos will also be available on CCI.live as we get closer to the sale date. If you are unable to be with us in person, we will offer live auction bidding through CCI Live as well as a compliment of sale representatives to assist you in bidding.
On behalf of the Oklahoma Shorthorn Association board and membership we would like to thank everyone that made this sale possible. With a special thank you to Mandee Blankinship for again spearheading the sale committee and Jeff Aegerter for once again managing the sale. We would again like to also thank the Major County Fair board for their generous hospitality in sharing the wonderful facility they have. We want to thank everyone for your interest and consideration in the 2025 Oklahoma Spring Selection Sale. We hope to see you on April 19th.

This red neck roan female will be fun in the show ring and better in the pasture. From the day she was born we knew this one would be fun to show and better to breed. Even with her big body, massive foot she walks out like a cat. She is great colored and will look great at the backdrop!

As first time consigners to the Oklahoma Spring Selection Sale, we wanted to show out with 2 new matings on our most productive and influential donor, 4312. This stout ended, big boned female by the hot crossover bull, Flash, is getting higher on our list every day. This powerful young November calf is quickly noticed, and will change a ton for the better by sale day.

It is no surprise to us that 4312 has worked with yet another sire, but it doesn’t hurt that sire is the ultra hot, Evolution. This one commands your attention with her crazy cool neck and beautiful, hairy roan coat. Just as impressive is her structure and natural lower rib shape. Standout show heifer prospect here.

This beautiful roan heifer is one that I have been catching a little grief over consigning to the sale. My 5 year old son Owen has shown her twice along side her solid white mother. He knows we can’t keep them all in the business of being breeders. She is bold in her design, stout in her bone and muscle, big square hip and great rib. She is a very sweet girl and ready for the show ring now.

This red heifer is hard to let go. She has everyting she needs to hang banners. She has plenty of body and shape, with the running gear to set it all off. To top her off, she comes from a proven cow family. Her grandmother comes from the Margie cow family, that has been a staple for Cates for years. This cow family brings some of the best udders around to the table. She can get it done in the show ring, but we believe she will work her best work after her show career. She is halter broke and gentle, so bid with confidence.

This beautiful heifer is a daughter out of the great Sull Red Knight. She has a great look, balance, and structure. She has a clean front, good on her feet, she is square hipped with a big mid section. Her bloodlines are sure to make a diverse breeding piece after a successful show career.

When we bought this heifer’s mother and grandmother as a pair in the Fall Revival a few years ago, we had high expectations for them. They have not disappointed! Not to mention this is one of the first Currency calves that we have sold. Currency was the 2022-2023 National Show Bull of the Year. With this heifer’s exceptional pedigree and style, she needs to be on your list whether you’re looking for your next show heifer or for your future donor cow!

We purchased a set of these embryos from Lost Diamond B Ranch because we liked the genetics or the mating and this heifer does not disappoint. Spend some time studying her, she is greener than we like during pictures and videos but some time and extra attention this female will be a threat in the show ring and with her genetic power she will be in the donor pen. This a full sister the Lot 1 heifer bought by Cates Farm in the 2024 Lasting Impressions sale. Blankinships won the 2023 Tulsa State Fair open show with a full sister as well. These heifers are sound, have look, dimension, and are complete.

If you were in Fairview last year, I’m sure you saw our roan Bucky daughter that went on to be Champion at the OSA Futurity showback in Stillwater before being named Champion multiple times for Emily Schellenberg. This little heifer has more in common with her sister than just her color. Great extension in her front third and shape to her forerib. Study her pattern, she has the look that hangs banners.
