Retaining in-herd semen use. CF Legit is a beef bull that -3.6 MCE possesses the hard to find combination of show ring success in a package that still demands the commercial cattleman’s attention. This young female is an excellent representative of N/A MCE one of the most consistent, time-honored cow families in the breed, Shannon Margie. This is one of the first calves we have out of Legend, and if they look like her we will be using him much more. 1022 is very feminine and eye-appealing. She was calved unassisted out of her twoyear-old mother. Margie can compete for her new owner in the show ring and then make an excellent addition to your herd with outcross genetics. The popular DF Waco is also out of Diamond genetics from Canada. TH Free. Alden Farms • 816-632-8509

From the heart of our herd comes this legendary N/A heifer. Steeped in a working background, the Max MCE Rosa's pay their way regardless of their address. Her dam is a full sister to the past Denver Champion who is the grandam of CYT Max Rosa, the reigning national champion. This heifer's great grandam is a full sister to Homedale Flash x, the foundation sire at St. Charles and sire of several herd bulls across the country. Saskvalley Bonanza has established himself as a sire of sound, easy fleshing, valuable progeny. This female resembles her winning relatives as a close as any we have raised. Truly a pleasure to offer as a representative of "the Homedale kind"! Kaehler Homedale Farms • 507-269-6148

Bred to A&T Rawhide 962; due February 15, 2011, -1.7 MCE 950 is a really moderate, super sound female, with tons of guts. She has cow written all over her. 950 is a daughter of the very popular JSF Jazz 34s bull. Many people that have seen 34S have said that he is the best Jake’s Proud Jazz son they have seen. We agree, and he has proven himself. The dam of 950 is a Lauer bred female that is very characteristic of that program: red, moderate, and milks well. 950 is bred to our new calving ease bull A&T Rawhide. We are excited about this cross. Galbreath Farms • 701-799-4568

Bred 6/1/10 to HC Tracer 32T, our Canadian, calving -1.3 MCE ease sire. Confirmed pregnant to breeding date by ultrasound. “The best set of udders we’ve seen” was a frequent comment among Shorthorn University attendees who viewed a portion of the cow herd this summer. The 4080 daughters are no exception as they excel in real world traits such as milk production, udder quality and the ability to thrive with minimal inputs. The Maid of Promise family has been a standard here for nearly 40 years. This heifer is a tank; big hipped and broody. Seekers of cow power take note! Millvale Shorthorns • 701-284-6844

Guarantee one pregnancy if implanted by a certified technician. Primabella 3118 has been a cornerstone at Leemon Stock Farm for many years and has produced numerous champions and sale toppers. Most recently, a grand daughter was a barn favorite at the NAILE Futurity this past November. She’s also the mother of our up and coming herd sire, LSF Shazam. She just works…no matter how we mate her. Many discriminating cattlemen have chosen her progeny to add value to their herd and now it’s your turn. Aviator has proven his value in and out of the ring and, mated with 3118, is sure to produce a calf with the right look and performance that is needed in today’s world. The embryos will be exportable to many countries in the world. We will guarantee a minimum of 6 grade 1 embryos from this flush. If the buyer is interested in selecting two donors, we will agree to split the flushes with them providing sires are used that are agreeable to both parties. We will provide any semen we have in our inventory at no cost, however, if other semen is used, it will be the responsibility of the buyer to supply it at their cost. As an added bonus, we will pay the export and shipping costs of the embryos produced to a US stud, so that the buyer’s costs will be kept minimal. All donors will be registered in both the Canadian and American Shorthorn herd books prior to the sale. Several of these donors represent outcross bloodlines and have been selected on their own merit as well as their production as well. You can see more information on each of these donors on our website www.horseshoecreekfarms.com or by contacting us directly.

She is sired by Saskvalley Bonanza 219M and out of a Muridale Buster 14K mother. She is a full sister to Muridale Bonanza 103U owned by Hugh Moore Jr & Sons. Goose 32R is one of our favorite cows, she is very deep ribed with lots of capacity, making her able to look after herself and raise a good calf out on the range. Here is a quote from a prominent Shorthorn breeder that just saw her "One highlight is seeing one of my top 5 favorite Shorthorn cows- Muridale Goose 32R. No question that if there were 5,000 cows like this one in our breed, Angus would be scrambling...." Many cattleman have asked about a flush on Goose 32R so we thought we would give everyone a chance by making this offer in The Summit Sale. We purchased Lucy 5U in the 2009 Revival for $7,400. That might seem like a lot to spend on a bred heifer, but we weren’t the only ones trying to buy her! That’s just what it took to get the job done. Her Byland Turbo X Lucy 42J is a perfect genetic foundation for the future of the breed. We mated her multiple ways to offer different options for everyone else who also liked the female. Saskvalley Primo, we believe, is the best Canadian option to produce an exceptional herd sire. Enough said. Recip is a good red crossbred cow. Cyclone Trace Cattle Company • 515-532-3005

The American Shorthorn Association Master Junior Breeder Program The Master Junior Breeder Program is a new incentive-based, educational program aimed at teaching members of the American Junior Shorthorn Association (AJSA) about performance records and Expected Progeny Differences (EPD), coupled with desirable phenotype and their collective application to breeding Shorthorn cattle. Juniors will be monetarily awarded for their knowledge of the above topics, and specifically how they relate to their own herd. This is not a trophy or scholarship that only rewards the junior with the “best” EPDs, but rather a program aimed at testing a young breeder’s knowledge of their beloved breed. The ultimate goal is to engage young breeders into raising Shorthorn cattle long past their years as a junior member. The American Shorthorn Association will contribute 1.0% of The Summit National Shorthorn Sale’s gross revenue to the program. Based on 2010, this contribution will be approximately $2000. Breeders contribute to the program by nominating their herd for a flat fee. Winner(s) will receive “Shorthorn Bucks” to purchase a purebred Shorthorn bull or female (no steers, embryos, semen, etc.), but ONLY from breeders that nominate their herds. Additional information of this new incentive program for juniors and breeders will be available on sale day.
