Sometimes footnotes say, "this is a once in a lifetime opportunity," and it’s just words or sales pitch. Well this time, the statement has REAL meaning. In Louisville, she was termed "fundamentally the best one." In reality, she's the female we all know we should produce but often can't. Judges talk about moderating frame, but few will slap one in the end for fear of bucking the norm. This one was good enough to talk them into it several times at the national level. When measured for hip height, this donor is a true 5-frame cow. We all know there's plenty of 7-frame bulls to make 'em bigger if we want. This will be the only genetics EVER sold from the reigning National Champion...ever! If you love Modoc Margie, you best keep nodding your head until you own this flush. The only regrets will be coming from the contending bidder.

DTR Ruby 062W ET will calve by sale day. We are -1.9 MCE retaining half flush interest in this female. If the buyer 1.04 $CEZ so chooses, we can make arrangements to flush 062W after she calves. Our Ruby cow family has repeatedly NA $F proven themselves to not only be great show heifers, but NA $BMI also great cows. You can tell from her picture phenotyically she is outstanding, but this cow family also excels in fertility and longevity. Many will remember her dam, LGS Ruby 522, an All-American in 2007. Only because we have three full sisters to this female are we selling her. 062W was Reserve Grand Champion Female at the 2012 Oklahoma State Fair PACE Show, Reserve Grand Champion Female at the 2012 Kansas State Fair, Class Winner at the 2012 American Royal PACE Show, and Class Winner at 2012 NAILE PACE Show. 062W is bred to our new calving-ease herd sire DTR Taffeta’s Money Man 951, a grandson of Studer’s Pretender. His sire, DTR James Bond 621, was an All-American in 2008. We started getting our first calves out of 951 this fall and they are outstanding. They are low-birth weight, without sacrificing style and performance. DTR Cattle Company • 785-587-7947

Selling choice of the Leveldale Farms Pen of Heifers
4
Leveldale Farms • Les 309-263-4233 Scott Wall 309-212-5450 This pen of heifers are all out of females who have calved unassisted as twoyear-olds and every spring since. Their dams can raise herd bulls and replacement heifers that could compete at a high level of exhibition if so desired by their owner. Their dams and grand dams are all still in active production and have required no maintenance beyond immunizations. Their udders remain sound and feet have never been trimmed. These heifers can be exhibited at high levels or turned out on grass and not waste away. They received no creep feed through the driest and hottest summer on Illinois record. They are all either sired by Masterplan or out of daughter’s of Masterplan...some very good heifers with great genetic packages and you get your pick!! I remember what a great cattleman from yesterday often called Mr. Shorthorn said—“You invest your money in good Shorthorns and spend it on poor ones.”

This bull was purchased in the 1980 Polled Congress for $10,000, a fair chunk for that time period. “Surge,” as he was more commonly known, went on to influence countless genetic lines.
