Cherri family
We have a love and passion for the Cherri cow family. We have extensively performed embryo transplant work to increase the Cherri Cow family numbers while maintaining quality. Chelsie family
Chelsie cow family started in the early 2000’s originally as a Purebred Red Maine cow family in the Sandhills of Nebraska by Stephanie & her mentor Kevin Heath. They mated her to Double Vision the resulting calf was a roan heifer that named Chelsie 269M. Fast forward to the spring of 2007 the partnership decided to flush 269M to WHR Sonny. Several great cattle resulted from
the flush, Buddy Love, Free For All and the Chelsie 828 donor. Two years later, we used the new at the time, DJS sire Charisma as the back up semen thats when things really took off. Those matings to the 3/4 Shorthorn cow laid the foundation to what was to come for the Chelsie cow family and the Steck Cattle Shorthorn program. Since 2018, 3 daughters of the great Chelsie 269M have raised
Shorthorn Show heifers of the year. 269M herself generated over $500,000 in a 4 year time span, her daughter’s and grand daughters are carrying on the family name and continue to be dominant in the show ring and in production. We are forever grateful to the Heath family for their friendship and the opportunity to build this great cow family together to share with the Shorthorn breed.
