A special thanks to everyone who donated to support this sale and the future of the American Junior Shorthorn Association. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated. - Don Cagwin Welcome to the 2011 National Junior Shorthorn Show & Youth Conference! As our junior members gather in Indiana to compete, we need to also take time to celebrate – the present, the past, and the future! Junior members have spent hours preparing their animals and various contest entries. Congratulations to all of you on your dedication and hard work. We also come together to honor our past. The tradition, legacy and history of the Shorthorn breed and its junior association is unequaled. This evening is a wonderful opportunity to accept the challenge of the past and respect our growth and the potential of our future. This is the time to ensure what is to come. This is the time for Funding the Future of the AJSA! Will you be a part of it? Are you a piece of the puzzle? The popularity of the Shorthorn breed amongst juniors across the country is evident as junior memberships and entries at the National Junior Shorthorn Show continue to rise annually. With this promising growth comes a need for increased funding to provide our membership with educational opportunities, a stronger program of work and larger and larger facilities to host a national event. All the funds raised in the Funding The Future Sale will support the American Junior Shorthorn Association program and will assist future Junior National host states to offset the growing cost of providing a successful event. No sales commissions, sales management fees, or catalog costs will be withheld as the entire staff has donated their time and efforts to assist the cause. We look forward to seeing you in Indianapolis, Indiana for the Funding the Future Sale and all of the events and excitement of the National Junior Shorthorn Show & Youth Conference. Come see what our junior members have to offer. Come see the potential they possess. They are the future of our breed and, we’re sure you’ll agree, they are worth the investment!
Funding the Future – are you a part of it?

"Red Rock" semen is not X available on the open Little Cedar Weston Mary x market, which means this lot offers you the opportunity to gain genetic rarity similar to our mating of DFS Little Cedar Mary 102 to the '70s "maternal powerhouse" Weston Dynamo some twenty years after his heyday, producing our treasured donor Little Cedar Little Cedar Weston Mary Weston Mary. (Her daughter by Oakview Two Plus Two is a 2011 Revival sale feature.) Four generations of Marys exhibit the consistent phenotype and maternal attributes that come from keeping type, function and fertility the topmost priorities. This embryo mating of the big-bodied, stout, easy fleshing, outcross sire "Red Rock" to the comparably outcross direct descendant of the famous Mary line (DFS Riders Mary 905 "Arrowhead" and Green Ridge DP Mary 9434) is sure to produce progress for your program...and the breed!
