Building a New Path for Tomorrow

E

ven during the Pandemic of 2020, the Shorthorn industry continues on. Sales, shows and breed events continue (though they may look a little different) and new programs continue to emerge promoting the Shorthorn breed. Shorthorn Beef - Locally Raised is being launched in October. This program will be promoted on Facebook which will include links to a map and information about beef – SHORTHORN BEEF. The map will show locations of breeders offering freezer meat and home-raised Shorthorn Beef. We are asking our social media followers to always share these posts so the links will get to the eyes of consumers outside our industry. We all have friends on social media who are not in the agriculture community and reaching out to the urban population will provide the opportunity for them to investigate purchasing directly from the producer farm fresh and locally raised Shorthorn Beef. The purpose of this program is to help consumers connect with producers. The map will include the producer’s contact information. SHORTHORN Currently, we have 7 states represented but we need all 50. • LOCALLY RAISED • This is a growing part of our industry and the need for local butchers has never been higher. The public wants to purchase their food from known sources and this program will expose them to Shorthorn Beef, how it is raised and agriculture in general. The relationships that can be made can change public opinion of beef and farming, not only for Shorthorn breeders but for all of agriculture. The premiums for this type product are endless as long as a great product is provided. Visit shorthornbeef.org for details and to see the current listings. Become part of this program. You will receive a premium,

control your market and expose a part of the population to agriculture and our story, while promoting the Shorthorn Breed. The Youth Development Committee has designed some new and innovative ways for supporters to make contributions to the breed’s junior program. Pledges for the foundation heifer will be billed in the registry and the money will go directly to a separate account for Junior program. Pledges can be made in a lump sum, billed monthly or quarterly if you choose, to spread the cost over the year. But first, please add the Deck the Stalls Extravaganza on November 14th during the North American International Livestock Show to your calendars. We will sell the foundation heifer at this event along with a number of other offerings that 100% of the proceeds support the youth of the breed and the Junior National. This will be our major fundraiser of the year. Thank you to the Martin Family at Martindell Farms for donating the foundation heifer this year. See page 16-17 for more information about the event. You may have noticed a number of recent sales that have included a donation lot or two that help fund the Shorthorn Youth activities. These donations enable us SHORTHORN to continue our excellent Royal Society junior programs. Thank you to those making the donations and those purchasing them - look Shorthorn for those sponsoring these Red, White & Roan club activities in the Shorthorn Royal Society and the Red, White & Roan Club. The ASA Annual Meeting Forum and Awards Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, December 5th in Kansas City at the Hilton Airport Hotel. There will be an open house social at the ASA office Friday evening before the Annual Meeting Forum and Awards Banquet on Saturday. This

will be a great time to visit the office and share time with staff and fellow breeders. Drinks and heavy hor d’ourves will be provided for those attending. The Forum and Educational Session Saturday morning includes some outstanding representatives who will share ideas on how to market your cattle - the dos and don’ts of marketing purebred Shorthorns. We can guarantee this session will have tremendous value to your operation. Many recognized names in the industry will share their experiences and explain the importance of a marketing plan for your operation. For the Annual Meeting Forum & Awards schedule and registration information, see page 15. To review this years’ ASA Board candidates see page 18. Come to the meeting and get information about your association and its activities. The Awards Banquet that evening will include the presentation of awards for Outstanding Performance Traits, Show Winners, Century Club Members, announcement of the Heritage and Merit Award winners, plus the Builder of the Breed winners. This year we will host a Junior Fundraiser during the day’s events. It’s a special time for Shorthorn fellowship when breeders can visit and share ideas. Many new friends and old acquaintances are made each year during this event. Our goal is to provide an educational and entertaining time for you. During this Pandemic many things have changed; many activities have been canceled from professional, college and high school classes and sports to livestock shows. In some cases, normal will have a new definition; some things may never be the same. But rest assured, because of you, the breeders and members of this great breed, “The Shorthorn Breed Continues to Build a New Path for Tomorrow” =

Beef Business

Matt director of Woolfolk performance programs

A Series of Numbers: Genomics and Data Welcome to the final installment of a three-part series. I hope you have been able to read August’s article on our carcass EPDs and the data that drives them, as well as September’s maternal EPD conversation. To wrap up the discussion, I’ll examine data, genomics, and their relationship to each other. With genomic technology becoming commonplace in the purebred industry, some producers believe that taking a DNA sample and running tests for genomically-enhanced EPDs can replace the classic method of data collection. We have talked about the role that different data points play in the calculation of some of the breed’s EPDs the past months, but is that information still important in the age of genetic technology? Absolutely. Without data alongside genomic information, it’s much harder to figure out the relationships between performance for a trait and the genes that control them. When the industry started the work to build genomicallyenhanced EPDs, there was already years and generations of data in place. When breeds started collecting genotypes, they were able to analyze what they already had in their arsenal (performance data) to look for the markers that have an impact on the traits measured for years. If all the heavy weaning weight sires had similar sets of markers in their genomic tests, the geneticists could start to surmise that those markers influenced heavy weaning weights. While this example oversimplifies the process, it does illustrate that without data the genomics aren’t near as valuable. Genomics without supporting data are akin to a credit card bill without money in the bank to pay for it. Eventually, they both will catch up to you. Fortunately, we’ve already been through the process of fine-tuning the genetic markers and determining impacts on traits to develop our genomicallyenhanced EPDs. Being a part of IGS 12

gives our breed the advantage of having a team of geneticists who are continually working on making our genomicallyenhanced EPDs more accurate. Recently, the IGS team worked for months to develop a stronger set of DNA markers for making genomic predictions. We saw the fruits of their labor in the changes to our EPDs back in August. The partnership between Neogen and IGS combines forces to make genomicallyenhanced EPDs better for all breeders in the IGS cooperative. Neogen’s move from a 50K genomic test to a 100K test doubled the number of markers a breeder gets in its test while keeping the price the same! As more genotypic and phenotypic data continues to enter the system, the better we can get at making genetic predictions about the capabilities of our cattle. Across the industry, there are still traits that we simply don’t have enough data in the bank to develop satisfactory genomically-enhanced predictions. This is the case for pretty much all breeds in the industry, and Shorthorns are no exception. The traits we’ve talked about in the previous parts of this series are prime examples. If you have ever looked at an IGS progeny equivalent table for GE-EPDs, you will notice that the numbers for carcass traits are lower than for growth traits. The value of genomic testing on weaning weight (equivalent to 22-25 calves worth of data) is triple that of ribeye area and marbling (6-8 calves). Why? Because we have so much more weaning data to work with! We have over 200,000 weaning weights in our ASA records, but only about 15,000 carcass measurements (ultrasound and actual carcass combined). Maternal traits are not immune to this concept, either. Some of the larger breed databases have recently released maternally-oriented EPDs, such as Mature Cow Weight and Udder and Teat Scores. Why did it take them this

shorthorn country = october 2020

long to develop a prediction for such important traits? They just now have adequate performance data to tabulate these EPDs. The work on genomically enhancing those newest EPDs is still ongoing. Traits such as udder scores and cow weights are found at a smaller proportion in the Shorthorn database. The number of weaning weights is over 100 times greater than the number of mature cow weights! Programs like the Genomically Enhanced Female Project are designed to help the breed and the participating breeder with this challenge in a two-fold manner. While you’re able to get genomic information on your females at a discounted price, it also helps us grow a weak point in our database with breeders collecting mature weights and udder scores to qualify for the pricing incentive. While we are a long time from being able to compute EPDs for these traits, we sure can’t get there if we don’t start making strides towards that goal now. Even with genomic information, we still need to collect performance data. The data that is submitted to ASA is the fuel that runs the engine calculating the entire genetic evaluation. Like any engine, the better the fuel that goes into it, the more efficiently it is going to run. I hope you have learned something over the last three months of this series. There’s plenty of information to digest when it comes to the statistics of cattle breeding. It’s important to be able to take that information and make it easily applicable for the folks breeding cattle. Otherwise, you’re just pouring your fuel on the ground instead of in the engine. =

Attention NAILE Exhibitors! As I am writing this article we are in the middle of September and the North American International Livestock Expo (NAILE) is still a go and they are planning full steam ahead until we are told differently. If NAILE is to cancel we will let our members know the best, we can. Until then, please do not forget to send in your stalling request and if you have any questions feel free to reach out. We will continue to follow the stalling policy that we did last year. Please see below as to what our stalling policy is. If you know of any new exhibitors planning to come, please pass this information along. Stalling Policy; we will be following the NAILE stalling policy.

NAILE uses our entries from the previous year to plan how much stalling we receive for our breed. They will take a percentage away from our previous year entries and then take a percentage away for no shows of current entries. So, what does this mean for you? We get less stalls assigned for Shorthorns than what are entered. We advise that you enter more head then what you plan to bring because we will cut down on your stall space from what you enter by the same percentage that we are cut by NAILE. Please add space for tack to your entries. (NAILE does not allow any tack space when assigning breed stalling space). Example: IF North American was to

Intent to Run Members Announce Intent to Run for ASA Board of Directors Joe Bales - For the past three years, I have been honored to have the opportunity to serve as a member of your Board of Directors and to be nominated to serve another threeyear term. The chance to represent the needs of the Shorthorn breed and the people who proudly own and promote these great cattle has been an extremely gratifying experience and I hope that I have represented your interests effectively. When I was asked to consider serving on the Board three years ago, I wasn’t sure what I could bring that would benefit our members. While my family has been actively involved with Shorthorns for more than 75 years, we’re a small breeder and I was worried that I lacked the level of involvement nationally to truly understand the needs of our breeders. It took all of one meeting for me to understand that I was wrong and that every voice in our breed is important and needs to be represented. My experiences, both as an active junior and over a lifetime of promoting and marketing Shorthorns were important. Your Board of Directors represents a diverse group of breeders and interests – including cattlemen (and women) producing bulls for commercial and purebred market, those heavily involved with developing Shorthorn crosses, parents of junior members, and breeders who have exhibited national champions. There are large breeders and small breeders – but at Board meetings, while their perspectives are different, they are all Shorthorn breeders and work together extremely well for the benefit of all Shorthorn enthusiasts. 18

We are succeeding because your Board understands and values the importance that each individual brings to our Association. If reelected to the Board, I promise to continue to serve in that same spirit of collaboration and cooperation. As I said when I ran three years ago, I think it’s important for the Board to serve all breeders, help cultivate markets for Shorthorn genetics and oversee the operations of the Association with the highest degree of integrity and honesty. It has been a pleasure to serve you these past three years and I would welcome the chance to continue that service. Dave Greenhorn - My love and enthusiasm for the Shorthorn breed began December 25th, 1962 when I received two Shorthorn heifers, Holly and Noel, for Christmas from my father. A lot has transpired over the years. I currently operate Greenhorn Cattle Co. with my son Josh and grandson Kolten (4th generation) and recently celebrated our 15th Annual Production Sale at the farm. We also will be hosting our 10th Annual Frozen Genetics Sale at the North American this month. Growing up in the Shorthorn youth program and likewise with Josh and now Kolten in his second year, I am a strong supporter of this program. It’s not just showing the cattle, but the many events and contests along with the social activities that excite me. These kids are our future and I want to continue to make this program even stronger and better. I would also like to see the Association

shorthorn country = october 2020

continue to reach out to promote Shorthorns and their breeders to the beef industry; such has been done by Grant and Company. I believe this has increased the interest in Shorthorns. Also, the new Freezer Beef Program has been well received. There are many more new ventures on the horizon. My past three years have been very rewarding and educational and I would once again like to continue to serve the membership for the next 3 years to help build and promote this great breed of cattle! Mark Gordon - It is with great pride and honor that I write this letter informing the membership of the American Shorthorn Association to run for a Board of Directors seat at this years Annual Meeting. It was my privilege once before to serve on this board for 6 years; 2 years as Vice President and 2 years as President. I enjoyed my term on the board and think that we have made progress within the beef industry and I would love to continue and serve the membership once again. I feel we as a breed organization need to offer our members the tools and support to be successful in their own operation. Technology and genomics have become tools needed to advance our operations in the beef industry, and I am a firm believer that our Association needs to stay progressive and current with all tools, technology and programs available for breeder profitability. Our youth program is second to none and has great breeder support. We need to continue to grow this program even

more. Other avenues, as far as financial support, are needed to continue the development of our future breeders. THEY ARE OUR FUTURE! I currently manage Croft Fertilizer Service Inc. in central Illinois. I have held this position for 35 years and am involved in the daily operations of the facility, its employees and keeping current with all state and federal regulations. Purchasing of products and retail sales to customers are also duties that I oversee. Financial growth and stability of the business are of my up-most priority and responsibility. I own Rockin’ G Land and Cattle along with my parents. We currently run 35 cows, with an emphasis on raising functional bred cattle that will perform in all aspects of the industry. We have an extensive embryo transfer program on the ranch, which we believe gives us the capabilities to multiply superior genetics. Cattle are either consigned to sales or sold privately at the farm. We have participated in the National Sire Test at the University of Illinois for the last 3 years Once again, I look forward to the opportunity to serve the membership of the ASA, and continue our growth as a breed in the beef industry. =

Facing the Unknown Everyone knows how much change we face when we move into college. One of the scariest times of my life was moving into my dorm last year, I was excited and scared for one thing I would face that year, and that my friends is the unknown. Moving through my Freshman year, I never knew what to expect when it came to being a college student. There’s always a constant struggle of figuring out whether or not situations will pan out in the positive, or the negative. Did I really pass that Animal Science exam? Does my roommate secretly hate me? Am I making too big of a deal for all of this? Although it may be silly, the fear of the unknown can drive you to the extremes. We are all experiencing this through the pandemic, and how people respond to the unknown of the virus. For us, waiting on the green light for going to

school, stock shows, and other things we love has us thinking about the outcomes in ways that we shouldn’t. Even though it is scary, the unknowns can be a good thing. Some of the best of life’s gifts come at you when you least expect it. I met my best friend in an afternoon Ag Comm class by talking about Shorthorns, and now I can’t live without her. Being thrown into the fire that is running for the Junior Board, gave me some of the most cherishable relationships I’ll have for the rest of my life. Although it’s a challenge to shift how we process our emotions in times of uncertainty, embracing the unknown can be some of the best choices you can make. Look forward to the stability, but find comfort in the chaos, you never know what good it can bring. =

Foundation Heifer - Martindell Babe 048 : Donated by Martindell Farms, LLC.

The “Babe” cow family started at Martindell’s in 2003 when we purchased a bred heifer from our good friends Dedmon Shorthorns in North Carolina. There has been 34 females registered so far that go back to that original “Babe”. This heifer has been a standout since day one and just continues to get better. Moderate framed, Reg Number: 4300982 thick, and as fancy as they come. This young lady has an outstanding SIRE: SS ON TARGET 570 ET pedigree and excellent E.P.D’s. She can DAM: MARTINDELL BABE 705 truly be a “Foundation” heifer. DOB: 2.11.2020 22

What an exciting heifer calf Princess Ella ND 0B03 has been since day one. This Princess Cow Family has been around a while and for good reason. The Ippenson Family in Illinois exhibited a direct ancestor of this calf to be the first Champion Female at a National Junior Heifer Show over 50 years ago. Vic Taylor, Longtime Shorthorn breeder from Yukon Oklahoma exhibited many champion females from the Princess Family and Jennifer had both this heifers dam and grand dam win divisions at the Junior nationals within the past 8 years. We think this heifer calf has the wow factor and practical, functional build to carry her to a very successful career as a show heifer and to also be a strong contributor as an elite Shorthorn Brood Cow. Pull up her extended pedigree and let that soak in for a bit. What an opportunity here!

Rose Mary P39C might be a little young for some to tie into but, what a way for one to start! You will be impressed with her pattern and extra thickness for a baby at this stage of development. This heifer calf represents several cow families that have hugely successful over the years. We likely will be flushing her dam to Prestige to make more like her. If a first calf heifer can make one like this, why not? Consigned by Bedwell Cattle Co.

His plan was to mate her to CYT Maxim and develop her into one of the next great donors in that program. We purchased this female in CYT’s dispersal and decided to continue with those intentions of flushing her. Embryos were collected and are being stored at REI, Stillwater OK. General Information

Join us in Charlotte, as we Turn the Page to a new era at Narrow Brook Shorthorns. We have continued along the path of breeding cattle that have a show ring appeal, but most importantly our true focus has been on producing cattle that have staying power. The only way to get staying power is concentrating on conception rates, calving intervals, feet and leg structure and forage conversion. Combine all these traits and the cattle earn their right to stay around. Our most satisfying accomplishments are how well the NBS prefix excels in other herds and environments. We have diversified over the years as well, putting a focus on the Shorthorn plus program and bringing in some Hereford genetics to round out our portfolios. Call us or any of our representatives if you have questions as you turn the pages.

2020 has been a year of great loss with the passing of the matriarch of the Miller family in August - my mother, Betty. Followed by the loss of our good friend, Vic Parker, who lost his battle with cancer a few weeks later. We have been working with Vic over the years as a cooperator herd and willingly offered to disperse his cow herd for his daughters. The pregnancies we are offering are in recips from the Parker program. You will have many opportunities here, as Vic’s program was very diversified. These cows have been bred for stayability like our cattle as well as with a goal in mind to produce high quality steers and heifers for his granddaughters in future years. Tie into these genetics, as they are only available in this dispersal.

News & Notes Food and Agriculture Law Conducts Survey on Farm and Ranch Estate Plans From Cari Rincker, Esq. - Rincker Law, PLLC CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS – Cari Rincker, the Principal Attorney at Rincker Law, PLLC, is conducting a survey for farmers and ranchers on their estate, succession and business plans. She is collecting data for a video series on the topic and plans on providing the information to the industry. “One of the biggest threats to multi-generational farm families is a lack of planning on how the operation will be passed down to future generations,” said Rincker, who has offices both in Illinois and New York. “This is more than just a Last Will and Testament. A proper succession plan should also incorporate a business plan and a road map on how

managerial knowledge will be passed down to the heir.” Rincker is conducting a survey using Survey Monkey that is 30 questions long and takes approximately five minutes to complete. The survey is located at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/farmestateplanning. The survey questions range from estate planning documents that are in place, type of business entity, prenuptial agreements, and life insurance. The survey even touches on family communication about the topic. “So far, exactly 50% of the surveys taken stated that their family had not had the ability to discuss this topic openly and honestly,” notes Rincker, who grew

up on a cattle farm near Shelbyville, Illinois. “This is a major problem in the agriculture industry. We have to figure out a way to make conversation starters more natural. This should be an ongoing conversation among the family members.” The more information collected from farmers, ranchers and agribusiness owners, the more accurate and useful the data will be to the industry. “I hope this information can better serve the agriculture community,” says Rincker. Richard Allen “Dick” Braman, age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at his home in Ashley. Dick was born on August 22, 1933, in Crystal, Michigan, the son of Marvin and Edith (Clark) Braman. He graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1952. In his own words, on June 14, 1952, he celebrated the greatest accomplishment of his life when he married his bride Glenda Monk, “the most beautiful girl” he had ever seen. The were blessed with 68 years of marriage and four children. In 1959 Dick and Glenda received their first Shorthorn cows as payment on a debt. They fell in love with the breed and decided to get a few for their children. Those few quickly became nearly 300 head. Dick and Glenda accomplished many “firsts” for the cattle industry. They were the first in the state of Michigan to performance test cattle and were the first to combine purebred milking Shorthorn and beef Shorthorn genetics. In 1968 the Braman family was presented with the Builder of the Breed award from the National Shorthorn Association. In 1972 they purchased an outstanding bull in Thornwood Major. This bull helped put Just-A-Few Farms on the map and quickly established their herd as a national force. Shorthorn cattle bred by Just-A-Few Farms were sought after throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Dick served as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Shorthorn Association for several years and breeders throughout the country will tell you how he was the one that got them started in the cattle industry, sold them their first Shorthorn cow, or convinced them that the red, white and roan was the way to go. At the same time Dick started working for the Zephyr Oil company of Muskegon. In 1966 Dick and Glenda bought into the business and the Braman Oil Company was established. Dick and Glenda grew their business while raising their family. At one time the business employed seven full time employees. In 1995 when Dick retired the company was sold. Dick always believed that a person should give back to the community from which he made a living. Dick was a member of and served as Ad Council Chair for the Pompeii United Methodist Church for 41 years. Dick and Glenda delivered for Meals on Wheels for 22 years. He was the secretary/treasurer of the Michigan Shorthorn Breeders Association for 35 years. He served on the Board of Directors of the Gratiot Agricultural Society for 28 years and was a driving force in establishing the G.A.S. Scramble Committee. Dick Served on Michigan State University’s Michigan Livestock Industry Scholarship Foundation selection committee for 20 years and was named an MSU Block and Bridle Honoree in 1986. The National Shorthorn Show was dedicated in his honor in 1995, Dick and Glenda were presented with the Michigan Cattle-

men’s Association Purebred Breeders of the Year award in 2002, and they were named the Gratiot County Rural Urban Days Farm Family of the Year in 2008. Dick was known to have a tough exterior. Even being described as “crusty” on at least one occasion. But during one particular interview he told the author that his grandchildren had given him the most joy in the last year. That the last time he cried was a month ago in church when the Pastor told about starting people in the world. And he was quick to point out how amazing his bride was. Saying Glenda was always the strong one in the family. When asked what was the greatest thing he ever did for another person he replied, “I never done anything great. I’m no hero. I’m no hero to anybody.” There are some that would respectfully disagree. Dick is survived by his wife Glenda of Ashley, sister Suzy Pritchard of Titusville, Florida, son Kipp Braman of Ithaca, son David (Maria) Johnson of Panama City Beach, Florida, son-in-laws Jim Falor of Ithaca and Skip Bongard of Ashley. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Boa Bongard of Ashley, Josh Braman of Lansing, Jennifer (Steven) Taylor of Ashley, Jacob (Lacie) Braman of Ithaca, JJ (Megan) Falor of Sumner, Kelsey Nelson of Alma, Menda (Ryan) Ziem of Florida, Melissa (Brandon) Stewart of Hawaii, nine great grand children and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Wanda Sherman and Elizabeth Eichorn, daughters Linda Bongard and Kerry Falor, and daughter-in-law Patricia Braman. =

The 115th National Western Stock Show postponed until January 2022 For Immediate Release: September 14, 2020 DENVER, CO - The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) Board of Directors together with the National Western Stock Show (NWSS) management, has made the difficult decision to postpone the 115th National Western Stock Show by one year and to resume the event in January 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic does not allow for the Stock Show to host the annual event and comply with the health and safety guidelines that are necessary to protect Coloradans and help stop the spread. More importantly, the projected environment through to the end of the year is too uncertain and therefore not reassuring enough to allow a traditional Stock Show to take place without potentially compromising the health and safety of exhibitors, visitors, and the public at large. “The decision to postpone the 2021 Stock Show is incredibly difficult for our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, business partners and the City and County of Denver,” stated Doug Jones, Chairman of the WSSA, “but the iconic western events and traditions we all know and love will be back in 2022, stronger than ever,” added Jones.

“Over the past several months, we reviewed and exhausted every option possible to host our event including a modified show with reduced capacity,” said Paul Andrews, President and CEO of the NWSS. “Ultimately, the health and safety of our guests, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff is of top priority and the NWSS and the City of Denver could not find a path forward to have Stock Show and comply with the rules that govern gatherings of our size and rules of social distancing,” said Andrews. Stock Show management made the early decision due to the intense planning and expenses that go into the NWSS. “We needed to make sure we announced early enough so all the livestock producers, contestants, competitors, and exhibitors do not incur time and cost they can’t recover,” stated Andrews, “and as an indoor event in the heart of winter, we had to consider the virus could be spread more easily indoors, potentially compromising the safety and health of thousands of people. The responsible decision was to postpone the show.” Every January, the NWSS hosts the super bowl of livestock shows along with professional rodeo competition and horse shows that are celebrated globally. The trade show is the largest

western trade show in Colorado with nearly 900 booth spaces throughout the 90-acre grounds. The Stock Show draws over 700,000 attendees during the 16 days in January with record days seeing over 65,000 guests on site. The NWSS drives an economic impact of nearly 120 million dollars in January alone. The show supports 4-H and FFA partnerships that span more than a century and supports over 100 students annually studying in the fields of agriculture and rural medicine at dozens of colleges throughout Colorado and Wyoming. All of this as a non-profit 501(c)(3). “We would like to thank our loyal stock show fans that are standing by us through this unprecedented time in history,” said Andrews. “We look forward to celebrating the return of Stock Show in 2022 with the grand opening of the historic Yards and Stockyards Event Center. Mark your calendars for January 8th through the 23rd, 2022,” said Andrews. =
