PRODUCTION SALE
WELCOME... to “The Social: Round 4”. It has been an extremely busy year, but a great one! We have had a lot of fun this year; everything from a very successful NWSS, all the way to A.J. & Tonya’s wedding this past July. Nevertheless, we are still working at a fast pace and we are excited to offer some different genetics and opportunities! This year, we are doing things a little differently. Since we will be offering more live lots, including the complete herd dispersal of Dutch Acre Farms, we will be having a “Video” sale, coordinated by DV Auctions. The genetics offered are different than usual, but still as strong as ever. From the whole crew here at JM & Arthur, and our fellow consignors, B&CS, Highland Farms, Trennepohl Farms & Dutch Acre Farms, we welcome you to “The Social: Round 4”. We are confident in saying, “There is truly something for everyone.”

Talk about EASY doin! This little gal is one that you want more of in your herd. Big bellied, sound and thick. Yet, this one still has enough look combined with some commercial appeal. Troy Smith’s Fathead did a nice job! You won’t miss this heifer's added power. Did I mention this one is puppy dog broke? She’s already been shown at the IN State Fair open show too!

This is one that has great potential. Just a complete, solid heifer, whose good in terms of bone, pretty fronted, good footed and has a low maintenance look. Her mother was shown by Torie in 2009 and was consistently a class winner everywhere she went. This heifer reminds us a lot of her mother. This one will make a good show heifer and an even better cow.

Once again, another opportunity to get a piece of the Augusta Pride cow family. We have been very impressed with the SULL BEEF bull, especially after seeing him when he was in Sullivan’s pen of bulls in Denver 2009. This spring only proved to us more how good this bull was after attending Sullivan & Gana’s “No Bull” Sale and seeing what he could truly do. The ShorthornPlus heifers offered were quite impressive in terms of the consistency and power he put in those heifers. We can only see him doing the same thing in this mating. consigned by JM Cattle Co. & Arthur Shorthorns

PE’d to GCC Mr Tags 78. Germanica Sunset is one of my favorite cows. Looks like a four-year-old and never a health problem. I can't recall this cow ever being in the chute other than for vaccinations. The Germinca's originated from the Hale Farms and Bill Hale knew how to select and breed cattle that made money in the every day world. She is easy to look at and when she dropped a Yankee heifer that stood fourth at the NAILE we decided to flush her. The first heifer calf in this flush is below. TH/PHA Free.

Possibly the first offspring to start Bob Duis' Lily 504L stellar reputation. She was the Junior National Bred and Owned Grand Champion for Jessica Goodman. Much like her mother she stays in incredibly good condition regardless of the feed source or climate. These Lily's are the ones commercial guys should love. TH/PHA Free.

A first calf heifer out of Lily 6R and Red Vision. She had a really nice Red Demand bull calf this year that we probably should have weaned earlier before the hot summer heat. Her picture does not do her justice and she will be in much better shape on sale day.

Her mother SS Revival 317 was at the top of Schrag's 2007 sale at $17,500. Cory would tell you this may be the best Sonny X Revival to ever leave his farm. Unfortunately we lost her at an early age and only obtained one flush to Tuscaloosa. She has a lot of the thickness and natural muscle that is so evident in the Revivals.

We liked SS Revival 317 so much we purchased a package of embryos bred the same way. The result was the dam of this heifer calf who is much like her sister, but in a more moderate package. This heifer calf has the shape and muscle expression of the Revivals, but with more rib shape and capacity at her young age. She will show and then be a good brood cow.
