OLD BRITAIN IN

KINGSTON UPON HULL COME VISIT US

FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY

ENQUIRE WITHIN TODAY

DEAR KINGSTON UPON HULL COUNCIL Future Play Regeneration understands that you are under a lot of pressure at the moment in the current economic climate to turn around the dire situation the city is current within. We would like to present to you a solution that we feel will resolve many of the cities’ problems . We at Future Play Regeneration are here to help you.

WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE COUNCIL NEEDS FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO INVEST IN THE CITY. Future Play Regeneration shares the same interest in improving in Kingston Upon Hull and understands the pressure the council is under. We believe that by working together we can help support Hull develop a stronger local economy and provide a consistant source of financial aid which can be distributed throughout the city.

We are interested in building Great Britain’s largest casino in Kingston Upon Hull. We are interested in providing a high quality level of gaming, however we are commited to delivering a totally new experience unlike any casino in Great Britain currently offers. We are not interested in building another generic casino as shown in this picture. We want to create something special.

In terms of gaming when we think of the US we think ‘Las Vegas’. We are commited to making people think of Kingston Upon Hull’s number one gaming and tourist resort when thinking about Great Britain.

As outlined in our programme document as part of our appreciation and interest in Kingston Upon Hull we plan to distribute a generous percentage of our income throughout the city as well as an annual donation of 2% our gross revenue (which is estimated in excess of 2-3 million pounds a year) . To show our commitment we have compiled some examples of how we plan to distribute our earnings directly back into the city. We believe in investing in the future of Hull is in both of our interest.

SUPPORT AND INVESTMENT

As part of the revival of Hull Forward we are interested supporting the city by investing in abandoned or failing commercial buildings..

and turning them into successful businesses which Future Play Regeneration will own and operate. We are confident we can create successful businesses which will contribute to the financial income of the city.

RENOVATION

Future Play Regeneration are interested in renovating existing buildings which have been abandoned into new profitable business enterprises. Keeping Hull’s history and heritage in place, while providing a solution to current problems. The above abandoned mill will be converted into a luxury hotel.

PROPOSED NEW INNERCITY TRANSPORT: CITY OF HULL TRAMWAYS

As part Future Play’s regeneration scheme for Hull we are commited to improving transport throughout the city centre by bringing back Hull’s tram system.

Kingston upon Hull is home to Hull Fair, britain’s largest outdoor fair. We are interested in creating a framework which can help support and promote the growth of social events as part of our proposal, securing Hull as the future destination for tourism in Britain.

I know what you’re thinking, all this sounds great but where is the gaming resort located and what will it look like? Our proposal for the location of the regional casino and gaming resort is next to the centre of the city in a run down industrial area across the River Hull. In the next section of this document we will discuss the scale of the regional casino and its location, as well illustrate how the proposal connects and integrates with the existing urban fabric. To begin with we will discuss transport routes and propose new roads and bridges that should be built, as well as a car parking strategy. We then have created a diagram which breaks down the strategy behind the master plan, llustratrating what gaming and entertainment facilities will be in the resort and where they will be located.

REGIONAL CASINO

We believe that our regional gaming resort can embody the heritage of Kingston Upon Hull and appeal to people across the United Kingdom by creating a unique british gaming experience that has not been done before. We propose that the regional casino resort should be themed on the streets of Kingston Upon Hull in the Victorian Era. This was a time when Hull was an important and affluent city. We will build scenes from Hull’s history and generate recreate the experience of the past on the streets of the resort.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Working 3D model (Analogue informing the digital) - Interactive virtual model (version 1.1)

Techtonic operation, materiality and assembly - Future Play System - Digital Signage (powered by arduino + processing technology)

WORKING 3D MODELS (ANALOG + DIGITAL) As part of my design project I was interested in developing an interactive virtual model that would allow a person on a desktop computer or laptop to view the master plan of my proposal in three dimensions similar to the way in which we can interact with a physical model. I have built a 3D model in Bentley Microstation 3D, which was then brought into Sketchup. Using an add-on called Play Up I was able to export the model into files which I could open in Unity 3.0. Unity 3.0 is a game engine that was designed for to develop computer games; however it is also used to build interactive virtual environments which can show an architect’s project. Once in Unity I have been able to design a simple user interface that allows a user to navigate throughout the model using the keyboard and mouse, this includes the ability to rotate, zoom in and move. The interactive virtual model was inspired after building a physical model that I felt was quite unable to show the amount of detail required to illustrate the complexity of the master plan scheme.
