My drawing practice has been an enduring one. After a long international career in 3 dimensional fashion design, working with Courtaulds, Enrico Coveri etc . I have now completed 2 years studying an MA, part time, in drawing at The University of the Arts London, Wimbledon College of Art. I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a member of the London Life Drawing Society, and just recently, have been accepted as a member of the London Glass Engravers Guild.
them are artists with a prophetic and spiritual message. Having lived in London for 30 years I have seen many changes and am interested in London’s diversity and heritage. My work utilizes all the drawing techniques and skills from a diverse career. These include manual, digital and glass engraving techniques.
The focus of my drawing work aims to document, satirize and make a social commentary on 21st century London. The drawing narratives are taken from its people, its places, its culture, its hopes, its fears, its utopian dreams and its dystopian reality. My research question revolves around the concept of ‘drawing as spiritual activity.’ The collection of work hopes to demonstrate a synthesis of both my drawing and spiritual practices. My work contains imagery evocative of dream like states of the city offsetting them with brutal reality. Some of this imagery includes the peripheral, the ephemeral and the multiplicity of imagery that permeates the city, often overlooked or fleeting, but everywhere present. Reflections, distortions, shadows, haze, etc. The work of both, Kikko Arguello and Rudolf Steiner have informed the project. Both of Glass Design 1
