Creative Writing Storytelling. Trend Visualisation and Awareness. Task: To produce a selection of creative written pieces that evoke emotion, imagination and captivate the reader. Response: As an interpretation of a live brief with Hallmark, from the lifestyle trend story ‘Retreat’, six images with accompanying text were developed. Response two: Three seperate stories were written for the online collective ‘Face Yoga’. Each piece adopted a different style of creative writing; a poem, diary entry and documentary advice. The poem ‘Fear’ explores an anxious inner mind, with personal thoughts and perceptions of anxiety. The diary entry documents the personal daily encounters of an over-thinker, with the final extract providing ‘ways to simply your life’ as a humorous advice overview. A network of confusion: ways to simplify our life Complexities. Why do we choose to make things complex, tangled, impenetrable. We form labyrinths in our minds that stop the positive, influential, inspiring thoughts from entering. Through such complexities we find self-doubt, insecurity, demurral. When we chose to unravel these complexities, all becomes numb for a while, and the world doesn’t feel right, when we’re not thinking, examining, analysing. I wonder what might happen if we just simply stop. Life should be simple.
