Take a squiz at my CV below, it outlines my profesional life and capabilities. It doesn’t however, tell you that I’m easy to work with, have a sense of humour and am broadly speaking, not a jerk. I’d like to work with you, let’s have a chat about that.

Awards & Such Joel Curtis Award (Travel Scholarship) TAGG Group I travelled to the US (New York, Austin, San Francisco and Los Angeles), accessing student publications in comparison to Australia’s. Also to attend a national conference for student publications in America.

Flinders University Student Association Media Officer (Jan 2013-Present)

Best Creative Campaign ACUMA 2015

As Media Officer I create all graphic design, web, social media, marketing and communications for FUSA. On a yearly basis I design an average of 200 unique designs a year as well as larger scale print production items from brochures, business cards, books, magazines and diaries to wayfinding, signage and branding. I created flindersoweek.com.au and redesigned fusa.edu.au and currently run 27 social media accounts, the biggest being FUSA’s which I took from 281 likes in 2013 to 6,000+ currently. I also colloborate with the university marketing teams and many other stakeholders to deliver projects to students with the most ideal voice and medium.

ACUMA represents the interests of University & TAFE campus service providers in Australasia. I won this award for the Student Assist campaign (seen in portfolio).

Express Media Buzzcuts co-ord, NEWS co-ord, Guest Speaker etc.

The NEWS Conference is the National Student Editors Workshop and Skill-share. I have been affiliated with this conference since attending as a student editor in 2009, speaking and paneling since 2010 and co-ordinating the event in 2013. In 2010 I was the co-ordinator of Buzzcuts Adelaide, and remain an advocate of theirs to this day.

Previous roles include: Adelaide University Union ( graphic design 2009-2011), Format Collective (20102013), and design for non-profit and mental health organisations (2011-present) for free, because that is important to me.

Ms Rachael Pollock Events & Projects Officer (Flinders University Student Association)

I’ll have a good hard wack at taking a good photo for you, speaking and connecting with clients and coworkers. Mostly, I’m a humble person with a skill set I’m confident in.

If I don’t know something I’ll go learn it for you! Now let me elaborate on some of my skills and projects.

(1) I was hired to relaunch Empire Times (Flinders University Student Magazine) after a 6 year VSUinduced hiatus. I have provided training and support to 4 teams of editors since then. We produce 10 issues a year (52 page print and digital production) resulting in a yearly readership of 60,000. Empire Times won best Student Magazine in 2014 for their issue focusing on it’s 40th anniversary.

(2) FUSA re-brand. In 2015 I redesigned FUSA’s branding identity, creating a style guide and implementing the design across all physical and digital platforms (eg. full redesign of fusa.edu.au). This includes all wayfinding, signage, print and screen design as well as branding for the FUSA Clubs Space, Queer Space, Women’s Room and Empire Times Magazine. This coincided with the 63 million dollar Student Hub project, allowing me to work along side interior and architectual design teams.

(3) In 2014 I developed flindersoweek.com.au allowing cross-department amalgamation of marketing and communication while taking the lead designer position for all O’Week ephemera. The site has increased useractivity by 800% since it’s inception. I also won the national ACUMA best poster design for our key concert event, O’Fiesta. I also develop the promotional items for all O’Week and FUSA projects, which featured on Vice. com for being well designed swag!

(4) I’ve managed the FUSA social media accounts (28 in total including collectives, clubs and other affiliated organisations) I have taken the main page from 281 followers to 6,383, retaining a consistent 4 minute reply time to messages.

(5) I don’t just work on big design projects, I produce roughly 200 unique designs a year, including the student diary, club logos, event posters, membership forms, business cards, billboard designs, brochures, website sliders...fortune cookies? Whatever you need. I’m used to working with quick turn around times and am largely resistant to the stress that can cause.
