Space Jumper By Charlie Silva On October14, 2012 a man named Felix Baumgartner jumped 128,079 feet in the air from an area in space called the stratosphere. Felix was 43 years old and broke the record for free falling. The man that jumped before him only reached to 108,000 feet. His name was Joe Kittinger. Felix was going faster than the speed of sound, which was at 800 miles per hour. He was taken up by a big balloon and he broke the sound barrier. The first time that Felix was going up they had to stop him because there was no communication and the balloon that was going up broke before it could take him to space. He landed in New Mexico.
Hurricane Sandy Report By Carlos Prio-Touzet Hurricane Sandy hit the north-east area of the United States. Hurricane Sandy originated along the west coast of Africa. It traveled across the Atlantic and swept over the Caribbean and killed 69 people. It skimmed Florida and then traveled northwards. Suddenly it hooked west and crashed into New England killing 17 people. 8,000,000 people lost power and the hurricane flooded NYC. As you can see, this was a very strong hurricane but it is only a category 1! We are so lucky it skimmed us but we still have to be prepared for the next hurricane.
