DLX001 60x60 Crosspoint Module
DL4360x features an advanced design combining modular-based transport functionalities with internal routing capabilities for video and Ethernet traffic. By eliminating external cross connects while staying in native video or Ethernet format, the DL4360x streamlines routing and rerouting of video and Ethernet traffic, reducing operational expenses, and providing an ideal solution for remote sites where immediate and timely reconfiguration is required via EMS or NMS.
DL4000 1 RU 4 Slot Features • 1RU 4 function module slots • Dual AC or DC removable power supplies • Passive 16 x 16 internal video and Ethernet cross connects At 1 RU and capable of holding up to 4 function modules, the DL4000 is ideal for smaller deployments or for portable applications. DigiLink Manager Home Page
DigiLink Manager is an HTTP and SNMPv2 based Element Management System (EMS) for monitoring, configuration, and management of DigiLink chassis, function modules, optics, and power supplies. Embedded in the DigiLink chassis and all its elements, it requires no external software or add-ins to monitor and configure all active elements of the platform. DigiLink Manager is compatible with all HTTP compatible systems, features a time-stamped log of key information about chassis activity, and is capable of monitoring and managing multiple chassis through a single Ethernet connection. With integrated SNMPv2, DigiLink Manager can easily integrate into third party NMS.

DigiLink Video Transport System
The DLC055 provides flexible video inputs and outputs as well as distribution amplifier capabilities to the DigiLink DL4360x Video and Ethernet Routing chassis. A DLC055 supports five independent inputs to the DLX001 crosspoint module as well as five outputs for each of twelve function slots in a DL4360x chassis. Each port is independent, supporting all standard video formats from 3G-SDI to ATSC. To ensure video quality and integrity all outputs are re-clocked. The DLC055 provides increased flexibility to the DL4360x by enabling inputs to be distributed to multiple modules in the chassis for separate compression, multiplexing, and transport. The five HD-BNC outputs are connected directly to the switch providing dozens of re-clocked electrical outputs for DA applications.

3G Multi-Rate Digital Video Optical Transmitter/Receiver/ Transceiver/Repeater [DLC103] DigiLink Video Transport System
The DLC103 is a flexible, cost-effective, bi-directional fiber optic transport module for all digital video formats ranging from 19.39 Mb/s to 2.97 Gb/s. The module is user configurable to function as a transmitter, receiver, transceiver, repeater, or 4-channel distribution amplifier. The DLC103 can be deployed in all DigiLink chassis. Optics are externally accessible transceiver SFPs in 1310 nm, 1550 nm, and 18 CWDM wavelengths. All of these features add up to make the DLC103 the most flexible, easy-to-deploy, and reliable single channel digital video optical transport module ever developed.

The DLC150E is a flexible audio embedder and video transport card designed for use in the DigiLink video transport system. The DLC150E will embed analog or AES audio into SDI and SDTI as well as transport all standard 270Mb/s digital formats. The DLC150 functions as both an audio embedder for four channel analog or two stereo pair AES-3 audio, and as a 270Mb/s video over fiber optics transport module. The DLC150 uses industry standard 1310nm, 1550nm, and CWDM Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) optics. Provisioning and monitoring is accomplished using switches, LEDs, front monitor jack, SNMP or HTTP via DigiLink Manager.

The DLC156 is an innovative, six channel TDM multiplexer for transporting uncompressed and compressed video over dark fiber or managed optical networks such as ROADM and OTN. Users can mix and match SD-SDI, ASI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI services into a single 10.7 Gb/s optical transport stream.

The DLC156 is a space efficient, cost-effective module for transporting up to six HD-SDI or three 3G-SDI digital video services over a single optical wavelength, saving fiber cost and simplifying network design and deployment. Using time division multiplexing (TDM), each channel is assigned a fixed time-slot, eliminating complex configurations. Six independent, mixed format video signals are aggregated to a single wavelength and two time slots can be combined to carry 3G-SDI.

The DLC156 supports links in excess of 80 km using industry standard, hot swappable 10G XFP transceivers in WDM, CWDM, and DWDM wavelengths. Installing a DLC156 repeater between the link source and destination extends the range of a link. Up to 240 uncompressed HD channels are possible over a single fiber. For additional flexibility, the DLC156 can also be used as a transport aggregator for Artel’s DLC274 four-channel TDM module supporting as many as 960 270 Mb/s video services over a single fiber.

Composite Video (NTSC/PAL) and Analog Audio to SDI Conversion with Optical Transmitter [DLC170AD]
DigiLink Video Transport System
The DLC170AD converts analog video and audio to SDI (SMPTE 259M) and provides optical transport. Used with the DLC170DA, the design insures full TV-1 RS250-C “short haul” analog performance over a true SMPTE 259M SD-SDI optical transport link. The DLC170AD uses advanced high performance 12-bit video processing with adaptive 3D comb filters to convert NTSC-M /PAL-B/G analog composite video to ITU-R BT.601/656 compliant, 525 or 625 line, 4:2:2 component digital video. Four channels of analog audio are converted to 24-bit digital signals and sampled at 48 kHz and then embedded into the digital video per SMPTE 272M for a total of 4 analog channels. The audio can be inserted into any one of the four groups. Using the backplane to provide jumper free connections, additional audio channel groups can be added by cascading the DLC170AD digital output to one or more DLC150E audio embedders. An SFP installed into the final module provides the optical output of the combined signals. A front panel monitor jack can be selected to output either analog or digital video. When set to analog, the incoming analog video can be checked for signal level and quality using conventional analog video equipment. When set to digital, the converted video in 270Mb/s SDI format with embedded audio can be checked using digital video test equipment.

DigiLink Video Transport System
The DLC170DA converts optically received SDI to composite analog video (NTSC or PAL) and analog or AES audio. Used with the DLC170AD, the design insures full TV-1 RS250-C “short haul” analog performance over a true SMPTE 259M SD-SDI optical transport link. Additionally, it can be used as an optical receiver for all digital signals from 19.39 ATSC to 1.485Gb/s HD-SDI making the DLC170DA ideal for the eventual conversion from analog to digital video transport. The innovative module uses advanced video and audio processing for exceptional quality conversion of SDI (SMPTE 259M) to composite video and analog audio. It accepts a 270Mb/s 525/625 line SDI input from either the optical SFP receiver or the backplane, then converts it to composite analog and audio signals. The received optical signal can be directed to the backplane for additional channel groups to be processed by other cards in the DigiLink chassis. Audio embedded per SMPTE 272M levels A, B, and C can be extracted as either four balanced analog audio channels or two stereo AES digital audio streams. A front panel video monitor with analog or digital selector switch allows the incoming digital (with embedded audio) or composite analog output to be monitored using conventional digital/analog video equipment.

DigiLink Video Transport System
The DLC205 is a flexible, non-blocking Ethernet Aggregator supporting up to 9 ports of 10/100/1000 traffic with optical connectivity. The innovative design of the DLC205 enables users to aggregate 9 channels, 5 external and 4 internal, of 10/100/1000 Ethernet traffic for transport across electrical or optical networks, all in a low cost, single slot DigiLink module. The module is fully nonblocking with a total capacity of 18 Gigabits of traffic and each port independently supports 10/100/1000 Ethernet. The four internal ports can be linked to other modules in a DigiLink chassis to provide internal Ethernet connectivity eliminating the need of external cabling. Unlike more complicated designs that require dedicated trunking modules and switching matrixes, the DLC205 is a simple Ethernet aggregator compatible with all DigiLink chassis providing a simple, reliable, and low cost solution for transporting video centric traffic and chassis management across Ethernet networks.

The DLC274M and DLC274D provide a space efficient and cost-effective method of transporting up to four 270Mb/s digital video services over a single optical wavelength. Services can be any combination of 270Mb/s video signals including SDI, SDTI, and DVB-ASI. Optical regeneration or repeating is accomplished using the DLC274D which includes drop and continue capabilities, DLC103, DLC300, or any other system capable of repeating a 1.485Gb/s signal. Using industry standard 1310nm, 1550nm, CWDM, or DWDM Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) optics the DLC274 enables transport of up to 160 270Mb/s circuits over a single fiber.

The DLC300 is a flexible fiber optic transport module for all digital video formats from 19.39Mb/s (ATSC) to 2.97Gb/s (3G-SDI). The DLC300 is a single-module, user configurable to function as a transmitter, receiver, or repeater and supports route diversity as well as ATSC to DVB-ASI conversion. The DLC300 incorporates numerous features in a flexible, easy-to-deploy and configure module with unparalleled quality and reliability. The module optically transports all digital formats from 19.39Mb/s ATSC to 3G-SDI (SMPTE 424M). To minimize inventory costs and simplify deployment, it can be configured as a receiver, transmitter, or repeater. For route diversity and optical flexibility the DLC300 also features dual optical SFP modules available in WDM, CWDM, or DWDM optical wavelengths. To transport across metro optical amplified networks, dithering of all SDI formats has been included, as well as conversion from SMPTE 310M to DVB-ASI. DigiLink Video Transport System
The DLC410 greatly expands the DigiLink video platform capabilities to include SMPTE standards-based Video-Over-IP transport for both DVB-ASI and SD-SDI formats. The module is capable of transporting four channels (two in each direction) of DVB-ASI or SD-SDI over a gigabit Ethernet IP network connection. Based on SMPTE 2022 standards for encapsulation and Forward Error Correction (FEC), the DLC410 enables SDI and ASI to be reliably transported across managed IP networks. Two independent video channels in each direction can be transported over a single Gig-E connection. SDI video is transported in its entirety, including all ancillary data. ASI video streams from less than 20 Mb/s to over 200 Mb/s are supported and can be rate limited. The DLC410 FEC enables the recovery of lost, errored, or delayed IP packets and can withstand burst outages in excess of 3 mS. Access to the IP network is through rear accessible field replaceable SFPs either optically in WDM, CWDM , and DWDM wavelengths or electrically via an RJ-45 SFP.

Designed as a cost-effective solution for transport of uncompressed HD-SDI over managed Ethernet IP networks, the DLC450 utilizes SMPTE 2022-5/6 IP Encapsulation and Forward Error Correction (FEC) algorithms to ensure reliable, error-free transport and compliance with industry standards. The DLC450 is a cost effective DigiLink compatible module enabling a single channel of uncompressed HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M) to be transported over a managed Ethernet network. Integrating seamlessly within the DigiLink platform, the DLC450 is customer configurable via DigiLink Manager or via SNMPv2 as either a transmitter or receiver. In transmitter mode, the DLC450 packetizes the video to SMPTE 2022-6 encapsulation standard and provides users with flexible SMPTE 2022-5 FEC configurations to maximize reliability and minimize latency and overhead. In receiver mode, its robust multi-pass FEC correction algorithm and user configurable packet buffering enable reliable performance over less than ideal Ethernet links. DigiLink Video Transport System
The DLC610 is a low cost DigiLink based module enabling a single HDSDI signal to be compressed via JPEG2000 then encapsulated into DVBASI including Audio and Ancillary data for transport across DVB- ASI compatible networks. The DLC610 module is a user programmable JPEG2000 Encoder or Decoder featuring low latency with industry standard ASI encapsulation. It is an ideal solution for transporting high quality HD-SDI signals across DVB-ASI compatible networks. The DLC610 utilizes the IntoPix® compression core to compress HD-SDI into an 80 to 180Mb/s JPEG2000 video codestream and then, encapsulated with all audio and ancillary data, into DVB-ASI per industry standards. The resulting DVB-ASI stream is now ready to be transported via fiber links, Gig-E, and/or optical networks for decoding and delivery using another DLC610 or other industry standard JPEG2000 decoders. The flexible design enables the DLC610 to be used as a low-cost standalone solution for integration into industry standard ASI equipment, or work in the highly integrated DigiLink platform with its internal routing of video and Ethernet traffic for transport, trunking, and distribution.

DigiLink Video Transport System
The DLM205 combines a 9 port non-blocking Ethernet switch and aggregator with DL4000 chassis management capabilities. The innovative design of the DLM205 enables users to manage and monitor DL4000 chassis as well as aggregate 9 channels, 5 external and 4 internal, of 10/100/1000 Ethernet traffic for transport across electrical or optical networks, all in a low cost, single slot DigiLink module. The module is fully non-blocking with a total capacity of 18 Gigabits of traffic plus chassis management and each port independently supports 10/100/1000 Ethernet. The four internal ports can be linked to other modules in a DigiLink chassis to provide internal Ethernet connectivity eliminating the need of external cabling. Unlike more complicated designs that require dedicated trunking modules and switching matrixes, the DLM205 is a simple Ethernet aggregator compatible with all DigiLink chassis. When used in a DL4000 chassis an additional channel is enabled that includes capabilities to manage, monitor, configure a chassis via DigiLink Manager HTTP browser based EMS or SNMP. The DLM205 provides a simple, reliable, and low cost solution for transporting video centric traffic and chassis management across Ethernet networks.

Multi-Format Digital Video Generator and Test Module [DLT710] DigiLink Video Transport System
Artel’s DLT710 is an innovative, DigLink based module for simple, automatic link verification of serial digital video formats. The singlemodule functions as both a signal generator and test monitor for 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, DVB-ASI, and ATSC and is ideal for automatic verification of single or multi-format video links. A universal digital video link test and verification module, the DLT710 provides complete, one-touch “go-no-go” performance testing for all common video rates and formats. Its unique design allows for one or more formats to be selected simultaneously enabling automatic verification of multi-format video links. As a test signal generator, the DLT710 outputs a continuous video signal of a single selected format or a timed sequence through each selected format. When configured as a monitor for a single format it will continuously monitor live digital video and indicate rate and physical layer signal quality. With more than one format selected, the module automatically verifies each rate has been received. With this unique multi-purpose module, verification of a multi-service video link can be performed in less than five minutes. The DLT710 is an ideal solution for link verification of digital video circuits.
