An acronym derived from window of opportunity, ‘WOO’ is an emerging multidisciplinary design studio, operates as a platform for design exploration, aims to achieve creative excellence in crafting, curating and framing the aesthetic and spatial experience.

WOO is an acronym derived from Windows Of Opportunities, which reflects the collective’s vision of creating multi-platform design and collaboration, simultaneously seizing every possible opportunities in the creative industry.

WOO is a collective where people with almost irregular interests, breath under one humble sky.

WOO strive on creating good design that will not only resolve pragmatic problems but giving value to the end user and community.

WOO can be translated into sound by when one is curious then latter, impressed; eg.“WOO, yeah this could work!”

IN PURSUIT OF SIMPLICITY In order to maintain the sense of spaciousness required by the homeowners , our solution is to capture the serenity of the Scandinavian style with sleek minimalist touch by letting light and air permeate the space. Adhering to a light and airy design adage, the living room is outfitted with furnishings and flooring in light woodgrained tones to complement the whitewashed walls.

The main feature of the living room is the TV cabinet in Matte white finish and back with Herringbone timber in darker woodgrained tone backdrop.

CLASSIC MEETS CONTEMPORARY When it comes to this conversion, creating a contemporary kitchen with luxury accents was the key to producing a stunning room in the simple yet beautiful space. Upon opening the sliding door from the living are, guests are welcomed by stunning a large Dekton’s island that fit for owner to entertain guests and enjoy meals together.

With a predominantly subtle color palette of white and dark grey, the kitchen features a touch of glamour and luxury by way of the timber stool and black-veined marble countertop & backsplash. The dark grey cabinetry with classic profile addition that complements the marble backsplash and 4 hanging pendants echo the shade of the cabinetry, creating a sense of cohesion within the space.

Filled with all the necessities needed in a kitchen, this beautiful space brings warmth and opulence to an industrialstyle home that’s simple in style.

SIMPLE AND STREAMLINED In creating bedrooms that are condusive for quality rest and quiet place for study, we decided to keep the design elements simple and streamlined as possible. We proposed ample storage of wardrobe for room owners, thus resulting the room with a clean and organized look. With that and the placement of furnishings with streamlined design lines, the vision of dreamy yet practical bedroom can be achieved.

PAPPARICH CAFE & RESTAURANT Project : Interior Design Phase : Design Proposal The idea is to maintain the originality and signature branding of Papparich, similar to the other branches in Malaysia while accomodate and improvised them into new proposal.

In this design, customers can choose to sit in 4 different zones, which is the friend zone, casual zone, family and outdoor zone, Different zones caters various types of seating and furnitures suits various group s of customers while maintaining the same color tone as sync with the other zones. This create a strong characteristic and dialogue between zones and simultaneously attracts customers.

KITCHENS // The kitchen is the heart and soul of any home.

It is a special meeting point, a creative space and at the same time, an expression of freedom.

A kitchen tells the world who we are better than any other space.

A DYNAMIC OPEN KITCHEN The G-shaped kitchen layout planning is emerging as more than just a breakfast nook; there’s actually immense potential for other users. The spaces in the home are becoming more fluid and having an open concept kitchen could double up as a dining or social gathering area for friends and family. By demolish walls for both dry & wet kitchen, homeowners can have maximum views throughout spaces and most importantly having spacious workspace for cooking and storage as both of them loves to cook.

MONO-CHROME One of the biggest factors that prevents homeowners from implementing a monochrome scheme in their kitchen is the fear of it looking too flat and boring.

To avoid that problem, we took on the challenge by incorporating different texture into the design.

Black and white is contrasted in a striking effect through the marble countertop, glossy spray painted black & whie for the cabinets, rough surfaced black tiles and polished white tiles as backdrop and flooring create enough visual interest to making the area come alive. Two hanging metalic pendants lights adds a decorative element as well as much needed lighting, and loose furniture helps break up the space.

Having 2.4m long x 1.2m width for the island and breakfast nook on the corner, it allow homeowner to have a pleasant dining area, ample storage space on both sides, and comfortable space for movement, despite having a small kitchen.

CAFE VIBE FOR THE COFFEE LOVER

Have you ever enjoyed a long Sunday brunch in a fancy cafe admiring the vintage decor, trendy artwork and bistro seating? The casual and feel-good atmosphere of a cafe is the ambiance the homeowners are looking for their kitchen. We decided to go industrial as it will rightly exemplifies cafe-style interiors. Raw

finishes, metal accents, exposed joinery, neutral colors, wooden pattern, and other industrial decor elements not only impose a classic theme, but also work together to provide a distinct warmth throughout the house, one that is reminiscent of coffee shops. Designed in L-shaped manner with island as the focal point,

and raised breakfast bar on the corner of the island while lining up some steel stools along it, the kitchen is turned into more than just a place for dining and meal preparation, but a cool place for working, snack time, chilling to Radiohead, but most importantly a great place for sharing ideas and having conversation over coffee.

MODERN STYLE AT ITS FINEST Modern design and monochrome color schemes work beautifully together and this kitchen and dining area is packed with style.

The design is so clean that yo can hardly discern where the appliance and accessories are nestled in, but everything one could want in a kitchen is there. This kitchen makes superb use of space and everything in it was strategically placed to maximize storage.

Instead of having one function, the open concept is desgined to have duality in nature as it could be use as office/study area, which suitable for compact spaces.

BATHROOM / VANITY // The bathroom is a part of the house intended for private sanitation.

It is a place where we can loosen up our tired mind and body to isolate us away from stress.

Bathroom can offer that its definition does not only limit to as for personal cleanliness or a word used to euphemize as a room containing a toilet, but a room vital for people to meet relaxation at its best.

3/SLAB HOUSE

REDEFINITION OF DOUBLE STOREY MODERN CONTEMPORARY HOME The propose design aims to achieve a modern residential design at the most simplest way which is divided by 3 slab and in between the openings allow full penetration to the pool and to the su rrounding. The steel profiles surround the slabs to clarify the separations while the stone wall and the wood finish gives out an elegance and warm vibe to the house. The pool connected to the living area separated by a sliding glass door allows the connectivity of the pool and the indoor to create a seamless boundary in between to harmonize the relationship of the spaces. The balcony at the first floor connects both master bedroom and the bedrooms to create the continuity of the house at the same time also to keep the exterior looks very clean.

With the house located the corner which was a semi-detached house originally. The existing entrance was facing the front so we decided to shift the main entrance to the side of the lot which is also directed from the main road to create more space for the garden and the pool of the house and fully utilize the purpose of the spaces.

COMPETITION & STUDIO WORKS // This section showcases competition and design studio works throughout the years in architecture field.

Our competition works ranges from as small as bench for GAMUDA MRT station to masterplanning for Sibu Vision for the Future. We actively participate in local and international compeitition to challenge ourselves and in hoping to gain more beneficial knowledge and exposure in the industry.

L.I.N.K. BENCH Project : Furniture Design Location : Bukit Bintang, KL Status : Design Competition

Blooming with economic and tourist attractions, Bukit Bintang is a commercial district which is rich with its culture diversity. Series of thoughts and events happen nearly every day in this dynamic and hyperactive environment.

Though people are open to express their views and having different way of living, Bukit Bintang continues to be inclusive, allowing difference to live in surprising ways.

Inspired by the urban context of Bukit Bintang, where infrastructure road networks, public transportation and pedestrian pathway act as main catalyst that uphold the hyperactive

nature and connection of people in the neighborhood, the LINK is imagined to embodies the imagery of these public networks in an unexpected manner to create more than just a public seating, but as a ‘living’ art sculptor that encourage communication not just between the users of the bench but also people that walk by and viewing it.

thus, creating a continuation kinetic motion of the bench itslef while still portaying the context. Because of its simplicity, LINK bench is made flexible as it could be combined to form impressions as unity, illustrating the movement of people and dynamic nature of the station.

UNFADED TRAIL The aim is to raise awareness of the importance of health. The design focusing on how to offer a key to create a linked connection to the people of all ages.

The continuous trail that surround the whole building is to create an infinity loop that connects throughout all the spaces that makes the spaces with different purpose be able to form a relationship and thus enhanced the bonding of the relationship between each spaces. During the analysis before design the building, I found that although there’s a number of elderly in the community but only the young ones are coming out to exercise because there is no suitable equipment or space that allows the elder to exercise safely. So the design brought safety and at the same time allow the elder to connect to the young blood.

To make the spaces interesting, I started to think WHAT IF i can transform the movements or patterns of every different sports and make use of the patterns to become a way of CIRCULATION. So throughout the building, I decided to add in the feature of rock climbing, hiking and even cycling into the WAY we normally do in jogging. It made the whole surrounding of the trail to become more exciting and challenging and at the same time brought joy to people.

The design also emphasize the interactions between the beach area and the natural elements around the site to allow the building to become part of the existing context.

ART RELIEF REFUGEE VILLAGE Empowering refugees through art and transforming life by reaching out & express!!

The project is an Art relief refugee’s development project that empowers refugees through art and transforming their life by reaching out and express. Being forced to flee from their originate homes, the refugees need help to restore and maintain their sense of existence and belonging. Therefore, the project intends to improve refugee’s social upbringing and livelihood by providing them basic necessities according to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Need, sharing and preserving indigenous customs and culture, providing economic opportunity for continued sustenance and offering various avenues in giving them confidence to integrate with the local communities and get back to the society.

VERTICAL CRAFT SANTUARY The design approach is to intrigue the interest of traditional craft which is brass making through architecture. I wanted to create spaces which is lively that is able to create a lively vibe that attracts people to the traditional craft art itself and changing the traditional crafts into an lively and exciting educational sanctuary to generate interest for the next generations to continue this traditional crafts.

U-THANT SERVICE APARTMENT The project is a proposed service apartment at Jalan U-thant, KL. The project was given by the firm associates in preparing the conceptual design proposal.

The design intention is to redefine the existing high rise apartment typology and create an improved service apartment residence by having maximum eye catching views towards the axis of KLCC and Gold course within multiple configuration. The playful and flexible nature of the design granted various opportunities in enhancing the design to its full potential.

The concept of ‘Tounge & Groove’ protrays the connection between units. It allows the scheme to make full use of its location and volume to achieve maximum visual connections towards surrounding context yet enhancing the new modern living lifestyle for the residence.

U-THANT SERVICE APARTMENT The project is a proposed service apartment at Jalan U-thant, KL. This is the second proposal.

The design is inspired by the greenary nature and topography context of the site. The design scheme aim to be harmonize with the adjacent Golf course.

By using the concept of Growth, not only the design meaning to amalgamate the nature and man made into one but it aspire to create a sense of community and harmony between residents while being in the indoor and outdoor.

Subtraction of cubes of different sizes from the established volume to create courtyard and sharing space further defines a very unique and specific composition of the structure. By bringing the nature from ground to upper level, the boundary between golf club and new building both blurred by the growing of green on the building.
