WOLFSON COLLEGE – DEGREE DAY INFORMATION & TIMETABLE Please read this information and keep for future reference PHOTOGRAPHY •

Gillman & Soame will be taking individual and family photographs at Wolfson College from 10.15am – 11.30am on the lawn area overlooking the Punt Harbour. Gillman & Soame will send you the proof images of your graduation photographs to view in due course. You will then be able to decide whether you would like to order them. Flash photography is not permitted during the ceremony The ceremony will be recorded. You can purchase a DVD from the Media Protection Unit in Wellington Square. Tel: 01865 270526

DRESS •

You will need two gowns for this ceremony. You wear the Advanced Student gown at the lunch and for the first part of the ceremony, and then change into the gown of the degree that you are having conferred during the ceremony in a side room at the Sheldonian.

All graduands must wear full sub-fusc to their graduation ceremony, in addition to their gowns. Sub-fusc for men: black/very dark suit, white shirt, white bow tie, black shoes, black socks. Sub-fusc for women: black/very dark skirt or trousers, white shirt, black ribbon, black shoes, black tights or socks. A dark coat may be worn if desired. Please note that if you choose to wear a skirt you must wear black tights; bare legs or flesh coloured tights are not permitted. SIGNING THE DEGREE LIST •

ALL GRADUANDS, whether attending the Lunch or not, must meet the Dean of Degrees in the upstairs Private Dining Room at 11.45am to sign the Graces and receive instructions for the ceremony. Failure to do so may result in your name being removed from the list for graduation in person (your degree will be conferred in absence).

LUNCH • •

Final numbers for lunch are given to the Catering Office one week before the ceremony and any changes to numbers/attendance should be received by that time. Please inform us of any special requirements that your lunch guests might have well in advance.

GOWN HIRE & CEREMONY GUEST TICKET COLLECTION • • • •

Hired items and ceremony guest tickets may be picked up from the General Office during office hours the week preceding the Ceremony, or from the Lodge on the Saturday morning. Please bring a large bag to collect and carry your gowns to the Sheldonian. Payment for gown hire should be submitted to the General Office in person or by post. Cheques payable to Wolfson College Oxford. Gowns will not be released without payment. A reminder that graduands do not need tickets for the ceremony and ceremonies are not suitable for children under the age of 7.

GETTING TO THE SHELDONIAN •

We advise ordering taxi to the Sheldonian early in preparation for the ceremony. You should be ready to leave college by 1.45pm

DEGREE CERTIFICATES •

Your Degree Certificate will be presented to you by the Dean of Degrees on the day of your graduation.
