BAUHAUS “Memories are imprecise, their presence unstable, their silhouettes unfocussed.” “The new project face the paradoxical task of conveying the strength of contemporary architecture while evoking the absence of a lost one.” “Our task, as we perceive it, is not to document historic all facts or to fulfill a scientific duty to the history of Architecture. The nature of our task is subtler and requires an almost deceitful approach to a subject made of remembering, of memories.”
This project is to explore interior object and space strategies and detail solutions for the Directors’ House and the garage with in mind of the Directors’ House relationship to the Masters Houses.
“Gropius’s house was the show house for the little colony, and a constant stream of visitors came from all over the world to marvel at the smooth running of domestic life that could be achieved by careful planning and modern domestic appliances.”

By keeping the content of the director’s house strictly a conveyance of imprecise memories - we wanted to reveal particular ‘scenes’ from the past which would be displayed not to ‘reconstruct’ as a home but to portray a ‘contemporary environment’ and an ‘intelligent abstract’ that reflects from the past
