Capstone Project - 2018 ATB / Kasian Design Competition
Overview
In this design competition, individual students are required to design and render a commercial building for conceptual ATB Financial branch and an architect's office. The site location was downtown Grand Prairie.
I designed and modeled the project with Revit and SketchUp, rendered with Revit and Enscape, and post rendered with Photoshop. My design and presentation won 2nd place, standing out from the 93 participants.
Concept Rise: In the design, the long columns and high butterfly roof not only symbolize the concept of rise, but also
utilize natural light. The users much appreciate the large windows and natural light, as it gives them a feeling of freedom and a rising atmosphere.

The main floor includes the bank's area and a big, welcoming public atrium, which welcomes people to participate in arts. 
The second floor includes the bank staff rooms and the architect office, with shared and separate entrance and flow. 

Architect Work Stations Site Plan Building located at a corner for convenience, and has lots of parkings and green space for the users.
Two-side glazing features natural lighting and park sight, ensuring improved work productivity.
Public Atrium High ceiling and curtain walls give welcoming atmosphere, and encourage the public to participate in arts activities. 
Northeast Perspective Modeled in Revit, rendered with Revit cloud rendering. 

Overview
This first year project required students to each design a conceptual dormitory for NAIT. I chose to use Revit as a design tool and constructed a close to real life model.

CONCEPT: TECHNOLOGY Technology has been improving our quality of life since the past. The concept elements implemented to the design can be seen from the floor plan and the exterior of the building, where the rooms recess and bulge, creating the gear-like geometry, to appreciate the fundamental element in most machines. The exterior is completed with brushed aluminum panels and large curtain walls, which gives a technical and futuristic expression. The lines between each aluminum panels also form connections between windows, which resemble the appearance of a circuit board, that can be found in every electronic devices.

• Curtain walls are used to maximize the use of natural light, while sunshades completed with light shelves reduce direct sunlight and greenhouse effect • LED (Light Emitting Diode) light fixtures are used to minimize energy consumption • Low E (Emissivity) glazings are used for all windows and curtain walls • Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) materials are used to diminish toxic fumes • Exterior aluminum panels are made with recycled cans and are low maintenance • Geothermal heating and cooling is used to reduce air conditioning energy cost

Overview
This residential house was first designed in AutoCAD and then modeled in SketchUp. According to the client's need, the house is a 2500 sq ft. prairie style house with one large master bedroom and two secondary bedrooms with Jack-and-Jill washroom on the second floor.
