Aims and objectives • To promote dialogue and the culture of peaceful coexistence among civilisations, ideas and people

Anas Altikriti – CEO

Why Cordoba? At times when human minds and intellects clash, the spirit of Cordoba is evoked. The symbol of human excellence, intellectual ingenuity and spiritual elation, Cordoba (Arabic: Qurtuba), the city, civilization and people, remains living evidence of the ability of minds and aspirations to meet, collaborate and strive for the common goal of advancement and success.

What is The Cordoba Foundation? The world today is replete with tensions and conflicts on religious and political issues. Whilst some may interpret such conflicts as proof of an inevitable clash between the West and the Muslim world, The Cordoba Foundation works to prove that such a clash is neither inevitable, nor necessary.

The Men and Women of The Cordoba Foundation Established in 2005, The Cordoba Foundation is an independent research and public relations organisation, which was founded by the prominent British Muslim, Anas Altikriti. A lecturer of post-graduate studies, Altikriti has actively campaigned on numerous just causes internationally — a strong voice of tolerance and reason in our troubled times. He is backed by a team of professionals committed to dialogue and a rapprochement between Islam and the West.

• To work with decision-making circles for better understanding and clearer comprehension of inter-communal and inter-religious issues in Britain, across Europe and beyond • To provide a new and unique standard of information, allowing decisions and policies to be established upon proper basis and efficient consultation

What do we do? As an advocate of dialogue and understanding, engaging with practitioners, researchers, journalists, policy-makers and a host of other stakeholders of society, the Foundation runs: • Structured consultation and advisory services • Face-to-face interaction with decision makers and scholars • In-house research and research support on key issues • Workshops, seminars and roundtables on pressing issues, including conflict resolution • Training and capacity-building — building a pool of expertise, sound knowledge and awareness • Event management in the spirit of mutual recognition of the needs and sensitivities of respective parties The Cordoba Foundation sees research and studies as a crucial tool to back the effort of bridging differences, mending divisions and finding common grounds amongst people. The foundation also participates and cooperates with various local and international conferences and forums, and publishes a periodical as well as various articles on key issues on its website.
