STEVE NODWELL DESIGN Steve Nodwell Design brings together multiple skill sets and many years of experience, to provide expertise in the design of brand environments, whether it be a retail interior, live brand experience or pop-up shop. As an individual or with my team of handpicked design professionals I can create environments that are stylish yet compliant, on brand yet sophisticated and most importantly integrated into your marketing campaigns. The mantra is to always engage and inspire, culminating in effective yet beautiful environments where brands can flourish and express themselves.



WHO IS STEVE NODWELL I have 15 years experience in design practice with a BA Hons degree in Industrial Design. As a result of over a decade working across Product, Retail, Interior Design and Experiential Marketing as a designer, creative and most recently as a Design Director, I have gathered an invaluable range of skills, approaches and knowledge.



WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU Using my own team or working with your existing staff, I can successfully take your project from concept to visualisation and ready for production. My skills are extremely hands on from the first scribbly creative brainstorms, to beautifully presented hand drawn visuals or slick 3D renderings to wow your client with. From the 3D structure to the printed collateral, I can confidently meet your requirements. I pride myself on being honest, hard working and always pushing creative boundaries to deliver new and exciting work for my clients.

Product Designer - Blueprint Product Design

Design and conceptualisation of a varied products from healthcare to toys. Its here I developed hand drawn conceptualising skills and prototyping techniques.

A very different discipline in which I learnt to apply the semantics of design to achieve impact and engagement on a more immediate level. It was here that I found myself combining previous design experience with a more traditional marketing approach to push the boundaries of what was being delivered at the agency.

Design and Prototype Engineer - Dauman Displays

A more technical role involving the design for production of retail displays and interiors, gaining experience in manufacturing techniques and use of materials. 2006 - 2008

Designer / Creative - FPP

FPP introduced me to a marketing design agency approach, understanding brands and consumers. My job was to take brands and bring them to life in the 3D environment. It was here I began to refine my understanding of branded environments and how to visualise them to best effect. 2008

Designer - Umbrella

A retail interior focused role that gave me focused experience of the retail world, balancing creativity with the practicalities of the retail environment. Designed and developed a retail concept for beauty brand Illamasqua, launching the brand onto the High Street with concessions in Selfridges and Debenhams.

This promotion gave me the chance to put my stamp on a design department, building it from scratch and nurturing the talents of a group of designers and creatives. My goal was to put design at the forefront of what had traditionally been a ‘marketing first’ approach, pushing boundaries and expectations of clients and the agency. Being responsible for the visual output of the agency provided vital experience in project management, dealing with pressure and deadlines. I also became adept in managing the various stakeholders involved in the projects from marketeers, project managers and clients. As part of the agencies management team I help shape the development of the agency. 2014 - present

NESPRESSO - EXPERIENCE STORE A muti sensory concept for an in-line store designed to engage the consumer in the provenance, quality and taste of Nespresso coffee.


NESPRESSO - EXPERIENCE KIOSK Turning Nespresso coffee into an engaging retail space to drive sales in a shopping centre kiosk environment.


EAST VILLAGE - EXPERIENCE PODS The first phase of a year long campaign to bring to life the the idea of the 2012 athletes village as a place to live. We created a flexible pod structure in which content and engagement could evolve over time. Here, the first of our pods visted Grand Designs Live with a virtual cycle through the village and a tactile wall. Take a look at this video


EAST VILLAGE - POP-UP EXPERIENCE Taking over a retail space at Westfield Stratford, we created an immersive space where the public could explore London’s newest neighbourhood. Bringing to life a product that the consumer could not touch was challenging but resulted in some creative solutions.



ILLAMASQUA - FLAGSHIP CONCESSION Bringing Premium in Westons Taste London with a simple Illamasquethe was launchedbrand onto the market in portfolio the UK in to 2008. Ouroftask was to create a retail and stylish execution. environment that embodied the bold and dramatic brand proposition. Our concepts were inspired by Eltham Palace and became the template for the brands retail presence.

The POP-UP was designed for maximum disruption and large format beauty images and oversized product achived this goal.


LINDT - THE STORY OF THE EASTER BUNNY A concept for Lindt, the choclatiers. We created a walk through pop-up book story to engage children and stir reminicence in adults. The idea behind the experience was to promote the idea of Lindt owning the easter story.
